  1. Sounds like the MGC precinct home base project is going nowhere fast. I hope we have contingency plans.
  2. You know we’re in a good place when the extent of our complaints and arguments over selection is whether Melks or Chandler should get the nod. Both borderline best 22. I would have given Chandler another run but he showed very little against Carlton other than one no look handball that set up Spargo for a goal. He was pretty ordinary overall.
  3. The Weid steps out of the shadow of BB. He really needs to take advantage and i reckon he will. Predicting a 5 goal haul.
  4. I'd love to turn Optus into a fortress. Make the Eagles our biatches.
  5. I didn't realise we had a 4-1 win/loss record against the Crows at the Adelaide oval. That's excellent. Granted the venue hasn't been around for long but i doubt we have anything close to that kind of record at any other away ground.
  6. We all know about Lynch but i didn't realise the Nank was such a dirty player. Sly digs at Max when we played them and last night's footage showed him completely blindsiding a Giants player (the ball was miles away). I hope he gets his comeuppance on the field of play soon. I'll cheer when i see it.
  7. I'm not sure of this decoy idea. Maxy went forward this year to cover for the absence of BB and Weid. He took marks but his conversion is very iffy. There are plenty of talls in our forward line now so I think he just gets in the way. Use him down back which is where we've always used up to this season.
  8. Either the Weid of BB i reckon. possibly both for another small/medium. Not sure the 3 talls structure will work tbh
  9. We'll lose a game at some stage. But not this weekend. We'll put the squeeze on the Crows and come away with a 5 goal win
  10. Goody on 365 just now stated he was very confident that the Weid will be with us next year. Sounded pretty definitive about it. Don't think the Weid is going anywhere soon.
  11. We've been conservative to this point already so if he's fit to play i don't see the point in leaving him out.
  12. He'll replace the Weid in the side or possibly BB
  13. Tough one but i'd rather win fair and square.
  14. I thought Max was looking tired v Sydney but he looked fine yesterday. There is no one that I can see who obviously needs a rest so I would hold off until the 3 week stretch either side of and including the bye to freshen things. From rd16 onwards have the best 22 playing every week leading into finals.
  15. Delighted with his progress thus far. Goes about his business in a no fuss manner. The club has really got its act together from a development perspective and JJ is a testament to that. Didn't know a whole lot about before Rd 1 but i've had him in my votes for Freo and again yesterday. Great start to your AFL career. Well done young man.
  16. Very efficient performance today. Always had Carlton at arms length. The gameday thread was starting to succumb to the MFCSS from about 2 hours before ball up. A lot of “I won’t be surprised if we lose today” comments. I know its hard to see past our history but this team is a totally different beast. Consistent, dependable, rock solid defence, know how to get the job done. We were never in any danger of losing that game. Adelaide in Adelaide next weekend. Another challenge to overcome. Another 4 points. Go Dees.
  17. We've lost centre bounces again yet still won. Story of the season so far and proves the point that its not a do or die stat. That said, I'm not sure giving the doggies first use is a smart strategy when we face them. We'll have to have plans to nullify them and make sure they don;t get too much clean ball. Our defence has been fantastic but i don;t like the idea of Treloar or Macrae pinging it into Naughton and Bruce.
  18. I would love us to dish out a belting but after 9 games we’re only a couple of percentage points off the doggies percentage. I think that shows that expecting big wins is unrealistic and our winning scores are about par. Let’s just keep banking the 4 points as we go and make sure we’re ready for the big games which will be rolling around pretty soon.
  19. Who cares what BT thinks leever. He's a boofhead.
  20. Viney and Jackson are best 22. If fit they both come back in. i thought the Weid was competing with TMac. Reckon its actually one of the Weid or BB. If the club consider Chandler best 22 potential then he deserves another go. I think it best we go no change unless Viney needs a game before we play the dogs
  21. 6. Salem 5. TMac 4. Lever 3. Oliver 2. Langdon 1. Jordon
  22. Decent win. Did what we had to do. Defence is solid and dependable. Not sure about all the talls up forward. Pressure game was off. Clearance work so so. Skills weren’t great but it was tough to hold onto the ball in the conditions. TMac excellent first half. Salem was probably best for us overall. Lever and May very good. Oliver did some good things. Most players contributed. Trac trying too hard. Just needs to forget about the contract and do the simple things well. The Weid did ok for his first game. Chandler offered little and will struggle to hold his spot. I liked the fact that Kozzie showed some sportsmanship. He should be applauded for that. They say the hallmark of a good team is to win playing badly. So shouldn’t really complain too much. But it would be great to see us hit out stride and play well for 4 quarters. We bank the 4 points and move on. Go Dees.
