Not near as confident about this one as I was 3 weeks ago. Freo haven’t beaten anyone of note (Geelong had no midfield) but they’re confidence is up, and they are playing better. They’re moving the ball quicker and their forwards have found some form. Clarry a massive out but Walters is an important player for them as well. The forecast is a clear, sunny 15 degrees. Well down this year though. Bereft of confidence. His goal attempts last night were horrendous. But he kicked 58 in 21 and 45 last year. He's a very good player and would fill a gaping hole for us. And there aren;t many options out there. Chocco will set him right. Carlton need to shake-up their list and I reckon McKay could be sacrificed to bring in picks. He might just be gettable. Curnow is obviously the better player but he is ungettable. The hoards would burn down Ikon Park if he was traded.

They all have flaws. We're in dire need of a FPF and there aren't many out there. Ben King perhaps. But he has his flaws too.

Could we tempt Carlton with our 2 first rounders (really hope Freo tank from here) and a second to trade for McKay? They have holes in their list and those picks could help them address. And they could use McKays salary to pay De Koning

Ultimately yes, he's responsible but he’s a premiership coach. If things are stale, or need freshening up then change the team around him. It worked for us when Pert brough in Chocco and Yze a few years ago and it worked for Richmond with Hardwick. And anyways, this could be a very premature conversation because we're early in the season. We're well in the hunt and could well be premiers yet.

BB was playing well before he was injured. TMac hasn’t looked played well in a long time (I don’t count the game against the hapless eagles). We badly need to add a KPF to our list in the off-season

We beat Richmond, Carlton and Essendon (until this year) regularly. We've pantsed North, a team we couldn't beat for years. Hawthorn are our bunnies now. Big 4 is a realistic expectation every year. These are great times we're living in. Now if we could just beat the pies every once in a while...

Excellent post @Kieren from Canberra. We are in great shape. The FD has really got its act together. I think expectation wise, given the list we have, we should be aiming for Top 4 while we're in our window. Unless injuries derail us which can always happen. Once you get to prelim stage you need the luck. sometimes you can get jumped like Richmond did against the pies a few years back. You can have an off day. injuries, umpiring calls. And the other teams aren't bad either. The pies are the best team in it at the moment. The Lions will be hard to beat as well. Doggies and Port making a case.

We tried. Gotta decide now whether it’s worth the time and energy appealing a 1 game ban. Not sure it is. We have a tough game on sat. Rather we focused on that and move on.
