MFC Family Day: Saturday 25th February 2023
Outstanding effort yesterday as usual. Not many people put their hands up to contribute to community/social based organisations anymore unfortunately. We’re lucky that there are enough people like you and the rest of the Demon Army who are selfless and civic minded and give back. We’re very grateful. Thank you @WalkingCivilWar

Farewell Luke Jackson
We have gawndy now. I don’t care what Jackson does.

Best 44 for Geelong
I preferred the old Geelong, the perennial finalists who crashed and burned in September. They were fun to watch. A September highlight each year for me.

Collingwood image ‘raising eyebrows and questions’
Young women today have adopted quite "laddish" behaviours and attitudes. Some will say its female liberation and they can do as they please which is right of course. Personally, I think a little more decorum wouldn't go astray but then maybe I'm just an old fogie.

Crown approaching AFL clubs...
Not even Crown can sportswash their brand. Tarnished beyond repair. Zero chance we take their filthy lucre.

MFC Family Day: Saturday 25th February 2023
Great way to spend sat morning with the kids. Stocked up on merch (polo shirt, guernsey for my daughter, baseball caps, beer stubby holders etc.), saw Benny (quality human being) get the hair shorn and heard from Daisy and Goody My boy reckoned the best part of the day was the free ice cream! I made him promise to come to at least 3 games with me this year. Unprompted he said he would definitely come to the grand final with me. I'm taking that as a good omen. Daisy spoke very eloquently as usual. Other highlight was Goody saying the team had unfinished business and wanted to win it at the G for us. You could tell he meant it rather than playing to the gallery. And he said Gawn and Grundy are known as the Tap Brothers! Libby Birch reckoned there was 3,000 people there. I reckon that was about right. Well done MFC. Very enjoyable day. The queues were too long but I don't think that could be helped. Just means the team are popular. Go Dees

MFC Annual General Meeting tonight 20/2/2023 at 6:30pm
Pert provided a comprehensive update in my view. My only criticism is that he should have done it earlier. I back Kate and this board to sort out the home base question in time. I’m glad this election is over so we can all focus on the footy. I suggest any threads discussing the election are closed. We’ve discussed to death.

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
I would be shocked if the club can’t come up with an offer to satisfy Kozzy. Surely Dollars or contractual terms won’t be the issue (and I have no issue with Kozzy asking for what he’s worth. I’d do the same). I think it’s a question of Kozzy deciding whether he wants to continue living in Melbourne or be closer to kin. I hope he decides to stay with us because a) he’s an excellent player with no obvious like for like replacement and b) he’s out of contract so we’ll have to accept what we’re offered as happened with the Jackson trade,

2023 AFLW Trade Period
Chloe Molly has expressed an interest in joining the Swans. she's tier 1 for sure. Probably pies best player so a huge blow for them. i wouldn't be surprised if it's the teams 4 to 8 that lose their players. Dees, Lions and Crows far ahead of these teams so these players might think they're no chance of a flag so may as well take the extra money. We're in our window so why leave. It's not like the extra money is going to set players up for life.
