  1. Am I the only one that felt a sudden urge to take a nervous p!$$ when the teams were announced?
  2. If the Brownlow telecast and the ch 7 information is anything to go by, this will not work. Only 7+ apps on certain TVs etc will work. Android phones/tablets won't work.
  3. Are these of the Chandler/Bedford/Baker variety? I'd be loathe to see Jordon or Sparrow go. Jordon's been very good this year and Sparrow has gone up a gear in finals which is exactly what we want (c.f. Gary Rohan).
  4. I loved the 2018 Elim Final barrier he put up that stopped Selwood so rapidly that his spittle went flying.
  5. AFL app's "live" leader board still only up to round 6. A disgrace.
  6. How the f can a free to air telecast in a region not be available on that broadcaster's own streaming app? It's not the 1900s for f's sake.
  7. Feel like I'm on the moon. 7+ app on Android, Kayo and no antenna - can't find Brownlow coverage anywhere! Have I missed anything? Please post updates on how our boys are faring.
  8. A flag would mean everything to me. There are two groups of people: those whose team have won a flag in their lifetime, and those that haven't. I'm desperately hoping to join the former set next week. A meme did the rounds a while ago showing a battered old VHS tape, with the caption something like "How Carlton fans watch their last premiership." Lucky them, I thought to myself. For us, tragically the 64 Grand Final footage is mostly lost. In a week's time, dare we dream of having a high-def flag...?
  9. Christ, everywhere I look in the media I'm seeing this lazy narrative of the Dogs' fairytale. The only reason they have "got here the hard way" is because they thoroughly [censored] the bed at the business end of the H&A season.
  10. Absolutely. There are no "turns" when it comes to flags. There was a romanticised idea bandied around in 2018 that it was our turn after the Bulldogs and Tigers drought-breaking flags in the two prior seasons. We all remember what happened.
  11. Pretty ambitious stuff by the then-VFL! They really needed the rail line down North Rd / Wellington Rd for that ground. Jeez it was an icy, barren, soulless venue.
  12. Yep. Happy for the Bont to join the prestigious club of Norm Smith medalists from the losing team. 👍
  13. My dream was for Barassi - legend without peer and last MFC captain to raise the cup. Failing that, I'm a huge fan of connection between current success and the rich premiership history of our great club, so to have a premiership winning past player such as Ken Melville present the cup would be fantastic. Woewodin would have an interesting contemporary slant - certainly his 2000 Brownlow and having played in our most recent past Grand Final provide relevance, but what an amazing recompense such a gesture would make given the ungainly manner his exit from the club was handled, and then there's the prospect of us possibly drafting his son Taj via father-son...?
  14. I will be a nervous wreck from the moment I wake until the outcome is incontrovertible.
  15. A very thoughtful and well spoken person, Trengove. His speech at the Melbourne B&F when he departed the Dees was first-class. Great to see he's had such a successful season, and is still getting joy from the game.
  16. 1. Allan Jackovich scissor kick goal vs North Melbourne as part of the 11.8 or so he kicked that day, 2. TMac dying seconds in Perth, boot to ball in goalsquare while being tackled, 3. Whoever it was that kicked the sealer vs the Filth at Victoria Park (Lovell maybe?). I have never seen a more toothless, dim-witted, foul-mouthed, lice-riddled throng of supporters, emboldened in their antisocial behaviour by their numbers and the familiarity of their dilapidated dump of a home ground than what I witnessed that day. The only time attending an AFL game where I genuinely feared for my safety at and after the game. Edit: also happy to add Gawny's goal after the siren in round 23 this year. Won us the minor premiership, mentally shattered the cats (ref. Prelim Final), gave us our first after-the siren win in our VFL/AFL history (bear in mind Queen [censored]!ng Victoria was in the throne when the VFL started up), and slayed his own set-shot goal kicking demons.
  17. Won't matter, GF is outside the 12 day concussion protocol. ACLs or lower-body bone breaks would do the trick.
  18. We are going to have to be razor sharp in a fortnight.
  19. I seriously thought it was Toby Greene when I saw that live. I was bemused that an current AFL player of a different team would be going so bananas.
