CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Second hand info, but we'll lose a player to concussion protocols this week. Apologies, but can't say who at this stage (and won't be answering guesses), just know it's not a tall and not Trac or Clarry. Injuries really hitting us atm, big few weeks for Selwyn, the medical team etc.

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
His stats this year vs last are exceptionally close - except for tackles - averaged nearly twice as many last year. In fairness though, he's pretty much the same for tackles inside 50. Maybe he's staying deep more often this year?

CHANGES: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Let's put it this way - Gus is averaging 1.5 tackles per game this year. 24.9 disposals of which 18.6 are uncontested. And 8.6 marks, of which 0.7 are contested. Not sure it's fair to say he's prioritising getting touches, just not that sort of bloke IMO, but he's the loosest of loose men and personally I'd much rather Salem being afforded that time and space as I think his kicking is usually more productive for us. On top of that, I reckon Gus is a million times better at reading the play than Jordon, and we have Bowey and Hunt both in good form at Casey; so there seems an easy win there at selection if Goody wants to go for it.

Something to do with having to wait for the wave of the flag before going into the square or along those lines I think?

In all the serious talk and analysis, I'd forgotten about this absurd moment...

Farewell Sam Weideman
Yet we had 0 tackles inside 50?

Didn't seem super happy, and not overly enthusiastic about Weid IMO. https://www.afl.com.au/video/805773/full-post-match-r19-demons?videoId=805773&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1658582886001&references=AFL_MATCH:3968

And Freo were only one kick off that score last time we played them...

Let's both just move on hey. No one wants to read this kind of back and forth.

POSTGAME : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Dogs had 10 marks inside 50 (albeit from 9 more entries) but still managed 9 tackles inside 50. I'm not just blaming the smalls mind you, I think we lacked a 2nd tall forward option that would have brought it to ground those other times.

I think we're losing a bit by having Gus as our loose defender but a poor kick, Salem playing in tight and not being our 'quarterback' anymore, and JJ on the wing where his defensive skills sometimes hurt us. Bowey back in. Gus to the wing. Use Salem more. JJ to the bench to be more a utility type.

Look mate, I'm sure you're a top bloke in real life, but for whatever reason it started we just get on each others nerves on here, so let's just agree to have each other on block and not rile each other up from now on yeah? Better for everybody. Cheers.

Yeah, don't know if it's on the rucks, mids, or both tbh. Thought Maxy was poor in the last quarter, but he was really banged up and sore by then, someone mentioned Jackson was limping? Would have to be the only reason he didn't ruck more in the 4th.

Much tougher run with injuries this year. IMO that's hampering us a bit in terms of continuity of selection and cohesion, and even the ones that are still playing seem a lot more sore. I reckon there was an aspect of loading to the soreness and lack of run at one stage but I don't believe it's still that now. We're just a bit banged up and haven't had the luck we had last year. Still plenty of time, but finishing top 4 will be crucial in that context.

Hitouts - Dees 52, Dogs 23 Clearances - Dees 38, Dogs 45 Looked at it's worst in the last quarter too.

Get where you're coming from, but would suggest the 0 tackles inside 50 will be talked about by the coaches this week. Will need to watch the replay but I wonder if that was a contributing factor to the oddly high score we gave up.

He delivered well a couple of times, kicked a couple of goals but also had 0 tackles, so probably stays in but no guarantee IMO.

My 3 word player analysis V Bulldogs
These both seem overly harsh tbh. Sparrow with 18 disposals, 6 marks, 3 tackles a goal and a goal assist. Solid game from him.

IN: Lever, Brown OUT: Tomlinson, Harmes or Melksham

Ton of dumb moments from usually good footballers. Jackson not rucking enough in the 4th? 0 tackles inside 50. Yes, 0. That's the game IMO.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Both played when we beat the Hawks who were 9th on the ladder at the time.

GAMEDAY : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Not defending him at all. I think he's an average player whose spot on the list is as a depth forward when needed. He possibly might even be traded this year. I just think the expectations are out of wack for him which means the criticisms are overboard.

GAMEDAY : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Annnnnnd nearly every comment is about a depth forward brought in as a late change... All this 'time to shine' 'last chance' 'make or break' kind of commentary is just over the top, which is what we've probably come to expect with commentary around Weideman. He won't win or lose us the game, just needs to contribute to the forward line in a comparative way to the coach's expectations and role. Need to get our clearance quality consistent now as we head into finals, it's been a bit up and down all year and IMO will be one of the keys to the game tonight. Been loving what seems to be some new aspects to Kozzy's role too, been given more space to be an attacking forward and he's been sensational, would expect that again tonight so if Spargo and ANB can lift their delivery I reckon we could actually kick a decent score even without Brown and TMac. As a side note, given the stakes for both teams it could also show us how genuine this 'animosity' the media have driven is between the two clubs.
