Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
I would think if we actually are keen on him then we won't be splitting picks as then we'll definitely lose out to the Hawks. Splitting our pick for GWS first two picks still seems likely to me, but had just heard we're having a good look at Maginness with pick 3. Could be that we're weighing up the two options?

Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
For sure, the only point I'm disagreeing on though is that I've heard talk we're considering him with pick 3. Could be a bolter just like Oliver was for us. Not saying it's a lock, just something I heard.

Angus Brayshaw to Fremantle Rumours
He was 'dropped' at the start of the season due to poor training standards. Missed the first 3 games.

Pick 3 is well before the Hawks first pick...

Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
Why would that happen? It's not like he'd be going interstate. Plenty of sons of former players don't end up at their Dad's club.

Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
Yep, but they might not consider him as worth as much as what we do potentially.

People said the same about Oliver too.

Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
Good chance we have a serious look at this kid with pick 3. Potential father-son for Hawks, but could be they can't match our bid possibly, pending their other trades? (Not sure how that all works sometimes, as the rules seem to change every year). Quick, hard at it kid who can win his own ball but also be effective outside the contest and going forward. Anyone know anything more about the bid-matching etc in this scenario?

Josh Jenkins
They'll be paying at least some if it either way, Jay Clark reporting this morning that if a club picks him up they may get him for as low as 200k per season.

Angus Brayshaw to Fremantle Rumours
Yeah that's what that bit is about, just wasn't able to copy an paste the whole article (we're not allowed to). I don't think he's going to be traded, but the talk still just gives you that little bit of doubt I guess.

Daniel Menzel
I'll quickly put in a disclaimer at the start to say I'm not implying we should go for him, just more opening it up as something the club may consider. Daniel Menzel is currently out of contract with the Swans as they try to balance things out for the impending Daniher trade. I personally would be a probable no, but what are the chances the club looks at him given we could probably get him for cheap?

Angus Brayshaw to Fremantle Rumours
“But it’s what it’s going to get done for and maybe how it’s going to impact other trades in this period. Bradley Hill for one and Angus Brayshaw’s name continues to be mentioned, whether that’s right or wrong. “He’s a contracted player at Melbourne, but it just seems like Freo potentially could still be keen for him if the right deal comes up. But it might be a long way away.” The Brayshaw link that just won’t go away as a Dockers-Demons deal looms

Gaff or Andrew Brayshaw Rumour
Kelly deal has already been done, albeit not officially. So won't involve us.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Why would it open up that possibility? Weid re-signed only a few months ago, and what would Collingwood trade to us? ATM their first pick is 35.
-
Gaff or Andrew Brayshaw Rumour
Would 100% make sense for this to possibly relate to Geelong and/or our pick 3. Haven't heard anything about that though, just that it's a real possibility to happen.
-
Gaff or Andrew Brayshaw Rumour
Rumour starting to grow legs that Gaff could very well be traded this year. Not sure with whom or for what, just heard it's a genuine possibility.

In case anyone was considering it, Gary Ayres has re-signed with The Borough for 2020 so won't be re-entering the AFL ranks.

Feels like it doesn't it? But points wise, 12 & 18 is worth more than 3 (by a little bit).

2020 Assistant Coach Prospects: The Next Batch
Geez I hope not, we need all the strategy help we can get.
-
Tom Papley
There's too many moving pieces to try and say that's what will happen though. With bids being matched or not, with the AFL bringing in new 'rules' about parking and trading picks, the leftover points deficit etc. Whatever happens, I still think us splitting the pick is a high possibility, and given our needs and Papley's 'uncertainty' it's a deal we could pursue.
