I don't find getting followed around on the internet, receiving email threats and constant trolling very funny tbh. Perhaps just block my posts if you're so bothered. You were never even mentioned.

Also gives him a convenient excuse. None of the trade ones I mentioned above were jokes. That's pretty clear. Easy to backpedal and say "only joking" when you're wrong though.

From Gary Buckenara's 'list analysis' article today... Melbourne has to decide whether this group can win a premiership in the next five years. I say no, but the club probably believes it can, so are unlikely to do anything bold like seeing what offers would come in by putting Clayton Oliver on the trade table. That would shock some people, but clubs need to think outside the box – you never know what possibilities and opportunities will present to improve your list and get the types of players you need to take the next step. Oliver is a great player but there are a few knocks on his game. He handballs too often and puts his teammates under pressure. So, he doesn’t really hurt the opposition like the great midfielders do. I think he can be replaced. You obviously wouldn’t do the deal unless an offer too good to refuse came up, but it’s food for thought. Be bold because this list has stagnated.

Update is apparently Mahoney is more likely to stay but will change roles. Not sure how that works tbh or who will step into his role if so. Perhaps it might even be a restructure given the soft cap change? Would assume that means the review has wrapped up and changes are happening, not sure on that though. Anyone heard about progress on the review implementations?

You're just focusing on the one game though, it's a bigger picture than that. I agree with you key forwards are rarely the difference in Grand Finals, but you need them to get there. 3 of the top 5 goal kickers, all key forwards, played in the game tonight.

Sure, the Grand Final is a different kind of game, but you've gotta win enough to get there though. No coincidence two teams with big gun forwards made it.

Bloke pulled off a miracle this year. Deserves a bit of credit no matter what you normally think of him.

Previously that was his strength, this year I reckon he looked for goals more than teammates.
