No change unless soreness/injury requires it. I'm not usually a fan of the old 'managed' games, but a fair few blokes looked sore during or after that one. Will be interesting to see if we manage a few now that we're near mid-season.

Pre-bandage Harmes was horrible. Poor decisions. Post-bandage Harmes better. Perhaps the head bandage changed his mindset? Bit in that.

I think Sparrow brings more of what we miss with Viney out - Tackles, one percenters, clearances, contested possessions etc - than Harmes does. Sure, Harmes provides a little more forward of the ball, but with Melksham, Petracca, Kozzy, ANB and Jordon in; what do we need more from a balance perspective? I would argue we missed the Viney 'tough stuff' in the first half last week than we did half forward types. Also not sure this is the week we're desperately crying out for a specialist tagger.

100%. Always though of him as a bit of a Viney Jnr, so good opportunity for him to maybe spend more time that kind of role, rather than bits and pieces. Think we missed a bit of that tone-setting aggression Viney brings on the weekend.

Sure, but they also didn't have TMac, Gawn and Jackson in the Casey team with them. It's about the overall balance, particularly given we play a forward pressure game, not just about how 2 players work together. Context.

OUT: Tomlinson, Baker, Fritsch (if challenge is unsuccessful) IN: Petty, Sparrow, Chandler (see: Fritsch) Brown wasn't great, and will be interesting to see if it was coincidence or structure that netted us 5 goals in 9 minutes once he went off, but we need to give it at least a few weeks given he's a brand new player. Hope it gels, feels a bit awkward atm. Baker's running was good, but did nothing with his disposals. Either turnovers or down the line. Really want the Weid to play, but the combination of Goody's comments re: Petty and just the clunkiness having Brown and Weid in makes me think a smaller player like Chandler could be the go. Jones or Baker can be sub I suppose.

15 disposals - 2 clangers, 4 turnovers. His first couple of kicks were horrible. I thought he was poor in the first half (not on his own of course) but people have eased up on him because we won and he wasn't noticeably bad in the second half.

It solves the problem of bringing in a forward without dropping one I guess? Agree he's not great in the middle, more trying to predict rather than ask for what I want.

Perhaps Brown goes into Melksham's spot and Melksham goes into the middle (at least more often)?

Chandler played the other night so wouldn't think it would be him. Guess would be Jones for Viney, Baker the sub.

100%, seems to still be (bizarrely) underrated in the wider footy world.

Not sure on attendances, but he had 2 stoppage clearances, so must have been in for a few.

Ranked 2nd for score involvements and equal 4th for goal assists for us. Might not be kicking many himself, but he's involved heavily in the scoreboard in a way.

Still disagree though that the match committee would consider Spargo in the bottom 3. Goodwin: "Kozzy gets a few headlines but Spargs, Kozzy, Alex Neal-Bullen, their pressure inside forward 50 has been outstanding,"

Definitely could have improved, but I think playing as a forward who roams high is a bit different to being a full time winger. If it does happen then I guess we'll find out. I'm happy with the combo of TMac, Brown and Jackson as I see Brown as the only one who is more of a one dimensional key forward, so it's a unique mix. It's more what they decide with Weid I think, because if they decided to add him in then TMac would have to be full time on the wing and I'm not sold on that yet.

The running is great, the problem is his field kicking though.

So, firstly, looking at the website there's been 13 articles in the past week. That doesn't include some of the video content (All the goals, Footy Show interviews, pre/post match content, highlights etc) "The Talking Points", "Gus & Gawny" and more. Secondly, the website is more of a hosting service than a delivery point. Have a look through the MFC socials, there's multiple posts per day, every day. Websites aren't the main point of call anymore, social is. Thirdly, of course lower budgets & less staff is an excuse (see: reason). There's literally less people and less money to do the same amount of work (or more). Be realistic about it at least, every business is adjusting to that in the current climate. Personally, as someone who works in marketing in a very digital-centric environment, I think MFC have made MASSIVE improvements year on year over the last 4-5 years. This seems a, not only inaccurate, but overly harsh assessment IMO.
