  1. Who do you want to play in the QF? 1. Collingwood at MCG (Not sure on how ticketing works here but Collingwood most likely will outnumber MFC fans 70/30 or thereabouts). Probably the most likely outcome and they would not fear us. 2. Brisbane at Gabba: I don't think they have lost at the Gabba this year - probably the hardest team to beat atm and at the Gabba becomes a huge mountain to climb. 3. Port at AO: Winnable. i think we'd take a lot of energy into this encounter. A very unlikely scenario would be Lions / Port at MCG: , but we'd definitely have the upper hand, but a lot of to go right for us to get spot 2 on the ladder.
  2. Ultimately it is stocking up on what we need. Our game plan will soon be on show at the Smithsonian - we need better kickers and speed that will compliment our insiders
  3. He was never the quickest big bloke going around.
  4. Today was another example of our need to load up on HB defender midfielder type. Trent Rivers is one and really the only player we have that fits that category. He needs a partner in crime or two. Reid is not this player. You can then move Bowey further upfield or on the wing. Not sure if that is Sanders or McKercher or someone else tbh
  5. He is playing Clarrys role. He is one that has sacrificed his individual game for the team. Hopefully when clarry gets a hard tag in future we can come back to this.
  6. Crows are a good team. Season on line expected nothing less today.
  7. Our forward line has to be: Kozzy JVR Melksham / Fritta Chandler J Smith ANB (Woey bench) Just dont have room for BBB and / or Grundy to feature. Gawn has found a bit form in the forward line recently so I’d be up for one last crack of Gawndy before finals but I’d keep in JVR and J Smith - maybe Woey goes. Big question on Tommo into next week as he played another solid game today.
  8. 1st 3 quarters they were a non factor. Last quarter 1 questionable 50, 2 soft frees resulting directly in a scoring chain, 2 of which were part of a 3 goal scoring block is poor no matter what the balance of the game is.
  9. Did anyone think Adelaide were just going to sit by and do nothing. Rankine’s season is done. They gave it everything. Umps were very poor in the last quarter and were directly responsible for 3/7 goals . promising sign was our response when the kicked 4 to start the 4th. What is concerning is that all 3 of the other top 4 can play that way with their running game off HB. Have to learn how to defend that better.
  10. I tell you what watching live is far less stressful than TV. We look far more superior in structure but have been a bit clumsy with disposal and i50 entry. Nothing that cannot be tidied up.
  11. I can see them running out of puff, but you can see that they’ll throw everything at it.
  12. Should have been a throw in - he ran off the line of the mark while out of bounds.
  13. Great game. Genuinely any of the top 4 can win it this year.
  14. Rain delay … also good.
  15. Collingwood make N Daicos look good - not the other way around. Once you shut the game down, he has no real impact.
  16. Pick 4: Hello…is it me your looking for? MFC: 👋
  17. Gussy is a top bloke - had plenty of time for my son to sign some autographs during preseason after a gruelling 40min running session after one of the practice matches in a sweltering day so doubtful. Same goes for Kozzy, BBB and Gawn. My stab in the dark would be Maysie. Has a bit of an ego about him I think.
  18. Naughton makes more sense as a WA.
  19. Had Bont not played out of his skin in the 2nd Q we would have blown the Doggies away in the first half of the 21 GF and probably had one of the biggest GF victories in history. He single handedly kept them in it until bang bang bang.
  20. He is expected to go Rd 3+ or rookie, so would have been out of the blue if he made the AA U18 team.
  21. Id go one better. Relegation. Solves a lot of problems and the AFL can hand out a bunch of additional 'prospective licenses' to get better representation across the country. At any one time you could then have 1-2 Tassie teams, 3 SA or 3 WA Teams, a team from NT all within the confines of an 18 team AFL competition. This way you, don't have to prop up tankers, multi-year failures (in WA, NM) etc. Let them rebuild in the 2nd tier comp. The 2nd tier comps (SAFL, WAFL, VFL etc could then have a playoff to come into the AFL) Would do an awful lot for equalisation. We are the perfect competition for it as the teams don't own the stadiums / infrastructure, so its a bit of plug-in-play with franchises. Would be a ballsy move and would disadvantage a lot of established clubs (inc us) as we no longer have permanent tenure in the AFL, but in the long run would be in the best interest of a national competition.
  22. Not bad. I'd also add 1-17 is an alternating H&A fixture every year to eradicate anomalies like Dees at the Cattery every year when we play Geelong once a year. I'm still in the camp of breaking the table up into 1-6,7-12,13-18 and each team playing each other in the remaining 5 rounds. I'd add that no team can cross over from one group to another (eliminating the possibility that teams finishing 7 or 8 have the ability to get into the top 4 by playing easier teams than those in 5 or 6). I think all points / position advantages are retained in the final 5 rounds (so if you are 3 games clear on top, the team sitting at 2nd would need to overcome that). i haven't really analysed what some of the disadvantages of this type draw would be as imagine its probably the leading option, but to me next two a proper 34 round (play every team twice) type of fixture, would be the fairest.
  23. They have enough youth - they need to replace McKay with a ready made defender. Handing them a 1st round compensation for a contractual blunder is disproportionate and will not make them a better team for next year. They need compensation picks to bring in mature bodies. Hopefully our club doesn’t tick off on this.
  24. Unfortunately for him, perfect fit. Let’s use their 2nd round compensation for him. He is playing better than McKay.
  25. Get a 3 rounder for him and use the points for GCS pick swap. Simples.
