Yeah that is really a peculiar outcome. I would have thought they had significant influence on the decision to host it on Thursday night. And really the only factors would be how to maximise crowd advantage and recovery. The other not so obvious factor would be for the additional recovery for the team that loses and will likely play on Friday night the following week. Also why does the loser of 1v4 play winner of 5v8 ? I would have thought that bracket should be playing the winner 6v7, given.

on the Thursday night aspect? I think it is well known that we don't have enough die hard supporters willing to turn up on a Thursday night. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what Collingwood actually wanted to get the crowd advantage. We just have to turn up. It is that simple.

That is an interesting way to think of it. The problem from his perspective is that none of those 3 are permanent fixtures in the 22. I'd think there are better players gettable that would fetch the amount covered by those 3 combined (or less)

Where would he fit in? I feel he is an inferior version of Oliver, so why would we even bother? I'd rather move Rivers into more midfield rotation and backfill a HB role.

Has anyone got word on Fritsch's foot following yesterday's incident? It is positive that he was able to run out the game, but was it a foot or ankle injury? No doubt he will be getting scans today to get an accurate picture of the damage done.

I know there are many ways to measure the difficulty of the draw but if we go by the teams we played and the amount of wins they have had , I think you’ll find it was one of the easier draws compared to the other teams.

I think so too. He does seem to have bit or poise about him. We can’t have too many small forwards. I hope we run him through a bit more in the team next year.

It’s almost certainly season ending. Just hope he gets back for pre season. But it’s just such bad luck for the bloke roughing it out in 2s for so long.

I’m sure Binman will be all over this in tomorrows podcast. But it was evident that we really put the after burners on at 3QT. That quarter is still concerning as we have seen it in a few games throughout the year.

ok so win lose or draw we are finishing 4th. without doing anything silly we need to put in a solid half to emulate QF game style. Syndey are a good turnover scoring team so should be a good opportunity to try a few things defensively to try and stop that.
