  1. Hawks are going to be very good I can see them entering the window in 2-3 years time. It’s just not fair how quickly they have come back.
  2. Did he also write an article when Cameron played with a concussion? He wouldn’t dare attack his beloved Cats.
  3. It’s infuriating. I’ve turned it off. They have given them so many gifts. It’s a joke.
  4. Umps trying hard for Lions
  5. Don’t need to watch this one, will see a replay in a couple of weeks time.
  6. Have you been watching us play? North and WC are seriously even money. Port and Doggies will pull us apart with their contest game.
  7. How so? I count 5 Port (G), Essendon (G), GWS (G), Collingwood(G), Fremantle(Optus) to come. The non 8 sides we are playing are Lions (Gabba) Doggies (Marvel), Suns (Gold Coast), Eagles (G) and North (G) There is a real chance we only win 2 (Norf, WC) of the remaining games - even those are iffy. Unfortunately we have bottom 6 written all over us atm. Even a chance of bottom 4.
  8. exactly you cannot be winning premierships and have cap space to spare - just doesn't happen. Well have to put in an over-top-bid to lure him though. 900-1.1M per year on a 5 year contract. I guess we just have to accept something like that.
  9. Cats have a bigger issue. Danger & Hawkins likely gone this year. Stewart & Cameron are both 32 next year and are starting to lose their dominance. I also wouldn't be surprised if Chris Scott resigned as he has been their an awfully long time. We all expected the cliff 1-2 years ago, but there is no escaping it - it will come. Take it to the bank they won't be competing next year no matter what happens in trade period. So its not a fait accompli.
  10. Our Rd 23 encounter with Collingwood has to have some sought of player initiated thuggery. ANything we can do to diminish their finals hopes. All within the rules of the game of course so Corkies of all varieties even a few rib ticklers. I'm prepared to take a honorable loss if it means they go into finals down a few of their stars. We have to respond and respond big time, they have the wood over us and we have to exert some physicality to at least have some mental ascendancy going into 2025. Scoreboard payback will just not cut it.
  11. Trac impact on games has always been higher than Oliver's IMV. Oliver at his best was the player that took ball from inside to outside so was still super critical - im not trying to undermine his influence. However at their best, Trac is a bigger out than Oliver.
  12. THis for mine is the watch. Its the 2nd tier players behind our 3-4 stars that have really let us down this year. Rivers, Kozzy, Fritta, Petty, Sparrow et al are having really inconsistent years. When you add May, Oliver, Viney to the list as having their worst season ever recorded, things start to make sense. Will be good to see who stands up that have long hidden in the shadows of our leaders.
  13. A bees Richard away from having Collingwood medically retire a second player in as many years
  14. Heat is definitely on. Almost feels like an attempt to open a rift between club and player.
  15. Sorry to say we ain’t in the ‘hell paying’ business.
  16. I doubt they’d go for this. It makes too much sense.
  17. Off field wise who knows. The players couldn’t seem to care less on Monday. From a footy sense it was a loss but not a significant one IMO.
  18. We are now firmly in the bucket of why would they want to come to us?
  19. Laurie is not AFL material. Should not get another AFL game. He is Toumpos 2.0 and the quicker we get him off our list the better.
  20. Pipe dream. Id encourage everyone to brace themselves for a turbulent 2nd half of the season. The players are 1-2 losses away from completely checking out. Once finals become mathematically improbable, watch the freefall. Our soft underbelly will be exposed.
  21. I hear ya. I just wish i didn't care so much..its mentally draining.
  22. So the key is does Simon persist with what we are all seeing as a failed adjustment to the game plan with the hope that we are about to come out the other side? Or revert back to the old game plan? The players have demonstrated their views by the way they present and play the game - its clear they are not believers of the new method, so will we see a new outfit after the bye or much of the same?
  23. Fritta is dangerous deep but is also an excellent field kick and at times did a few good things in the portion of the match I watched. I think he needs to be reminded of team footy a bit and play at half forward at times to help solve of our f50 connection issues. I get he has no defensive accountability but the VFL may change his perspective.
