Agreed. It’s very contagious. Similar to last night how Chin, Petty even Fritta all missed easy set shots.

Hayward with 3 goals. Sydney covering the ground so well. They are so fit. It super talented but just have great team discipline and athleticism

i agree with this statement. Its in the same vein as the 5-0 first quarter. You need to assess the whole game in totality. Carlton owned us in the first quarter. Q2 and Q3 was an arm wrestle and we owned them in the last quarter. Walsh, Crippa and Weits had the ascendency in 1st half. Gawn, Lever and Trac in the 2nd half. This game was tight. It was always a goal in it either way. What burns, really burns is that our fate was decided by something beyond the control of the team...umpires. I would take a 10 goal thrashing better than i take a game lost by a dubious umpiring decision. It finds us all too regularly. The Pies and Blues seem to get the roll of the green all too regularly. I have to avoid this thread as im still livid and just recreating the same emotions of last night.

The Blues were shot in that last quarter. If anything we had the advantage. Let that percolate.

This needs to be a 10+ goal victory to make up for last night. No excuses, no mucking around. Get to work and get it done. We need to get on a 5-6 win run to bolster top 4 chances. Top 2 is almost out of reach atm. Cats and Sydney wont be dropping many more games from here.

I looked at it frame by frame last night with what was on the telly and said it wasn't clear enough. My gripe was more aimed at the dangerous tackle which was far more conclusive and the officiating in the first half.

Yes that is what appeared to happen. But it wasn't an official score review so they just stick to the normal routine. If we lose another game to stupid umpiring error(s) again, im done. I can handle being beaten fair and square by an opposition, but when its due to poor officiating, its a different feeling - being cheated doesn't sit well with me.

Thanks. That first quarter killed us. Almost all other stats indicate we were better. Q2-q3 was very even. The last q was a domination where should have one. The one thing I noticed was how slow we were on d50 intercepts and turnovers. This is where our system needs vast improvement. Need to run and carry more. Rivers, Bowey, Salo need to start that transition and run in waves.

It’s very easy to say that it’s his finger or lack of preseason. I think we are seeing someone really battling his demons on and off the field. I hope he gets through it as I’m starting to think we may not see him return to his very best this year or possibly (god forbid) ever again. I thought he turned a corner last week, but something tonight was just a little off in his positioning , his attack on the contest and his willingness to cover the ground.

They should both be cited. The elbow is late, high and player left the ground. Minimum 2 weeks, should be 3. Carlton tax probably gets off with the old no sufficient contact was made. the gut punch is as late and intentional. Should be 1 but will be a fine. It’s written in stone watch it come true

Yeah some better cameras would definitely be helpful prior to chipped balls. It may not catch it all but it will do better than what we have now

I thought it was touched live but on replay it was too close to call.

When we were hungry in that last 10 mins it reminded me how we can play and how we played in 2021. To me that is the bar. I barely see it. The first 2 quarters against the Swans was the same and that’s it. Nobody can stop us when we play with that brutality. So where is it?
