I think the Blues have gone backwards. They look appalling and will struggle to get into top 8 again. Norf will have at least 6 wins this year and as much as 10 with a few upsets. I don’t think they are going to be walk overs anymore.

100%. Its game 1. Young players will suffer from inconsistency in effort and output. Even more so in the forward line. He has some good mentors and experience down there that he'll learn plenty from. But we need to temper our expectation of the young man.

Bringing in uncle Byron feels a bit desperate … but maybe it’s what he needs to hear. A footy career is short… playing for a club that will likely win another 1-2 premierships in his career vs 4 teams in WA /SA that will be lucky to be playing finals let alone be too 4. I don’t get the city life thing one bit. It’s not like Perth or Adelaide are country towns. They are still big and have their own football crazy media.

But , is the west really a Bulldogs only area? They used to be called Footscray and along with Essendon are really the only true western suburb teams. A lot of these teams used to have their own footy grounds outside of the G / Marvel in their respective suburban areas. So the fans were really based in the respective areas / zones. Nowadays i think most of that is all but disappeared with exception to Geelong and the interstate teams. As for Melbourne supporters, i'd love to know as well, but i suspect you'll find a concentration in the South East to bayside suburbs.
