What they are saying down at Cockburn Central

He must have been very disappointed. After all, he went into that game only needing 21 to kick the ton. -

Needed Chocko’s advice on technique? -
Never mind. I understand it now.

What is this about?

Thanks again for the podcast. Does anyone else find the new intros too loud and annoying? They spoil it for me and I’d be happy to lose them.
-
Was that for bad language or bad grammar? 😃

Just to be clear… You understand that I don’t have to agree with you, right? Nor justify my views to you. Freo played well against an undermanned Cats side and if this week’s match were held in Perth, I think they’d win. I will leave team selection to the experts, but I can’t see that either Laurie or Turner will improve the side. There’s a huge gap between VFL and AFL. I like Sparrow and I think Harmes might have helped us against Yartapuulti if he’d run with Butters. One or both of them will probably come in next week.

No. Yes. Yes. Yes. But that doesn’t mean I agree with Turner and Laurie being included. I’ve seen Turner dominate in the VFL before and fail at AFL. I’ve seen Laurie struggle to get a kick at AFL level. He is miles off. i agree Sparrow is important and would include him.

Pretty much guarantees a loss.

Agreed, DZ.

It’s supposed to be 15

Imagine what Andy is going through.

Worst half I’ve seen for years. Pickett, Viney, Gawn, McDonald, Petracca were all pathetic.
-
I’d be happybwith him if he didn’t try to take on the opposition every time he gets it.

Some sort of oodle, DD. Possibly a Schnoodle. We’re moving in July so hope to find one later this year.

I’d love to have a dog and will get one later this year. My cat Purrgeot died before we left France. He was a Demon supported and liked to wear my Melbourne thongs.

Emphasis on odd, right?

Or was it just a play on words for the fungus that grows in a footy change room?
-
Good work, Deespic. I particularly like this description of Petty: doesn’t have the quick-thinking peripheral vision assessment ability. (It would be great if Champion Data could rate all forwards on this new measure.) Charlie Spargo would rate very highly, I think.

I don’t understand the system that takes our votes and turns them into this. Virtually any system would put Clarry out in front, but to the extent that he has 50 times the votes of May?
-
Off topic, I know… For all the talk of how brutal players were back in the good old days, players who threw a punch were suspended for weeks. In Ron’s case (where there was no clear evidence of a punch on Roger Dean) he got 4 weeks. These days that might be two weeks, down to one with an early guilty plea.

Except that Geelong won it in 1963. I think Hawthorn’s first premiership was in 61. Yes, Barassi was suspended in 63.

The team announced has players in their normal positions!!! (Probably means Fritter will be at CHB.)
