Why because we are not trained to take chances in our game plans. We are engrained in saving goals snd not kicking them. Our forwards don’t know how to win close games as the brain is not non change from defence to attack. It has not helped that Trac Clarry and Gawny have not been available or this season not fit enough to have a major influence on the play. Goody again could use Clarry more up forward cut out the gut running with very limited bursts on the ball. Give Laurie and Kynan an opportunity. McVee also. Will Spsrrow be any better for at last being dropped? Let’s see. i did about 2 mths ago that Goody needed to be creative but look at his abysmal Sub selections and minimal usage. Really Disco a sub? Yes if he gets a half up forward or down back but not a 10 minute lick of the ice cream when it’s far too late!! So the Club have got to move heaven and earth to move on from 2021 no matter how we feel. Thats why in 2/3 short years the Tigers have degenerated so quickly. Felt that 2017 was going to kick in again in 2021/2 and3. CHANGE that word and Goody will need to if not in 12 mths we will not have breathed a new style or outlook so necessary to 2024/5 success . the longer its delayed the harder for the Club in the long run and our last decade of progress will be under serious threat at this time. Sorry to be so Goody oriented but it is the major issue in change and the Board are unlike y to make a major move in view of his success. Chris Scott finally worked out about change and hit a flag. Cats fans should be grateful that after 7/8 years he did. We need much more immediate impact now either in house or starting from the fence to the backyard. It’s not saying failure but just evolving in time that change is necessary. Accepting it is hard but totally necessary to have the effect on our next 4/5 years if we are to utilise all our long term stars extensions.

This half back fiasco is not our real problem . Our defence can change a game style with running half backs etc. Its our forward line and game.plan and personnel. . Why do other teams have automatic connection and we make it look like it’s an early 30’s tram.

Salo has no real equity for a trade as he is a Demon also to his bootstraps.

Try him up forward as a floating player in the half forward/ forward pocket mould. That puts Billing’s out of a job and a goal scorer is added with experience.

Not a mention of the ace in the pack up forward Matty J. Really he is the big hope to add another big potential marking ( and ground) player. He could easily hit the ground running and be a complete surprise packet because his forward instincts look sharp and natural. Maybe a Membrey or Wright or a much more forward Kenterfield could surprise,

Too early by far no need for this 3 or more matches. Let him get physical fit with issues like his heart or we will have two Club greats still on the comeback trail for 2025. PS Same as for Clarry it’s best if he is happy etc then he will play better.

Gawny you are way out of line with the Kalani comment. Have you ever seen him play? Is he an arch type ruck or he could be as indicated a CHB or even a forward. I am thinking Sam Darcy in development and readiness. You can’t BTW suddenly get an 18 yo to play as a 24/5 year old but some players are ready for AFL more than others. I have the impression that Kalani is a Sam Darcy big kid type with huge natural ability. No waiting till 2028/30 for his maturity to affect our team. H

Agree we need a completely different approach and look. That’s why Goody is under the hammer because he won’t. Change his philosophy. As one poster said in another topic Goody will cost us prime time and dollars with our dour brand of footy. The amazing thing about this is our 21 Flag ended up being any thing but really dour once we broke free. Bang Bang Bang is as far way if we keep playing the same style.

Nothing is going to happen if we don’t put some energy and enterprise in either way. You seem too exhausted to be worried and Thsts not going to solve the situation. New coach new approach and every one is on their toes and up and about. There is a need for this to happen a new broom to sweep some old and overused plans. Drastically improving is an overload on Clarry’s form. Your negative side clearly shows while the stats are clear he is down in most categories it merely comes back to a very good honest one year winner of our B and F and not a 4 time superstar champion’s record, One thing still that highlights Clarry is that he still is one of the best last quarter players when he is needed to produce. Hats off to Goody who held him back last SaturDay night to see him through the four quarters. BTW Cranky Granky ( well self named) howcgid you expect Clarry to perform this year given his prep for 2024?? At 75 85 or 95 % of his normal output. And your assertion that we are only getting 50% worth of Clarry’s $1 mill contract is way off. He is improving each game and I’d be very scared if we make the Finals if I was another of the second to 13th teams that could come up against us. Never write off a champion and just as the Deed are hitting their best straps this season so will Vlarry be right there when the whops are cracking.
