  1. Yes that's prob a bigger doubt now WWSW
  2. Prob because they are negative !
  3. It's hard to predict But at least we have some quality and flexibility. Whatever makes you think that Salem has Covid-19? Thst is irresponsible IMO to even put that in your post. Have you any evidence or would you like one of your family in a public media even alluding a possibility of contraction if this disease at this crucial time. I am surprised Demonland allowed this in your post!
  4. Like father like ..... could so easily be my response. But following a team is non negotiable and as you said the Geelong win trumps all. Appesrs you didn't go to the QB games in 2016, 17 where the Dees outnumbered the Pies and 2018 where it was about 50:50. You have solved your own point though that if you miss going (and 25% of Dees fans don't go like you) then we will be less vocal. In fact since 2016-2018 the ratio at homes games has been more Dees. I don't accept that point as every game vs interstate teams is 95% Dees. Last year after Round 7 our crowds dropped off but 2016/18 we were in the top half dozen in crowds and win a majority of games at the G Seems as though you have not been lately. Sniut the jumper wearing again it's your pick and choose example that makes them feel uncomfortable. Nit bring proud of their team no matter what is not negotiable and again losing and winning are great character traits yo be taught. A membership ticket is bought and no guarantees are given about success. But a half empty approach will no doubt be negative and have an effect on attitudes in the learning years. I am a 50 plus consecutive ticket holder despite living interstate fir the last 27 years! And have attended up to 7/8 games in seasons recently since Roosy took over, and 2/3 prior each year. PS My father was not a sportsman or real fan and gave up during the shocking run during the late 60's and 70's. I didn't nor my mother so here I am like you craving success but with a different attitude.!
  5. Read the full article while a risk it has been assessed as a minor risk to the people that were in Sect 42 level2 on Sunday. Providing they follow the washing hands and medical procedure if any symptoms. Was on the same level But in the Long Room For most of the game. (That wind was so cold On Sunday the Virus would have done well to survive !!!!)That is not a medical diagnosis but an off handed comment on Melbourne's weather in early March.
  6. One wouldn't trust Clarko fir a fair attempt to assist the game would one? Now that the Hawks are more than 2 players short of a flag chance dnd are slower in real pace ( hence he sees their pace as important in lieu of kicking accuracy ) losing wings will give him a chance. Leave as is and it will evolve in the way footy always does OR go back to the original rules before the last rush to increase scoring was hastened in by Gill and Co with shallow evidence and even shallower thought processes.
  7. So F what do you do ? Come to the first rounds At the G and see the games then buy? Or explain to your kids that you only go to sport if you win? Losing is not fir your development of character. Di your kids play sport and if they lose you don't follow them? I wonder how many years you have bought a seasons ticket? Last year following 2018 or the preceding years as we increased our wins linearly? Bestnif luck as you wrestle with all these Dilemmas!! Hopefully we have only a small % in this category. PS I believe the Club has already committed enough in changes Dialogue and improvements to indicate a real attempt to rejoin our progress before last years setbacks.
  8. With over $6 mill loss each year what's smother mill the AFL will cover this leaking Clubp
  9. While at the moment prior to 2020 we appear to be short of at least 3 top players or superstars To add to Gawny dnd Clsrry. We need Trac to elevate as he appears ready to do. In addition we need May and Lever to have near season best form. Our forward line needs greater reliability with the advantage of multiple goal kickers. Also Tommy Mac to be a consistent 50 plus goal kicker as in 2018 and two of Petty Fritsch Milkshake Brown or Weideman to be 30 plus. Have enough confidence in a number of small forwards to get between 35 and 30 goals. in addition I believe Petracca will elevate his game even if playing in the midfield to approx 30 goals as our midfield needs to contribute. Many if our 23 to 18 year olds in addition are in the big improve category and 24 to 28 as the best footy career stage. Luck and few injuries are the final stage and with the easy draw this year a top4 position is totally possible and opens up the doors that have not been a reality since 2000 or our glory years.

    AVB

Similar situations are always going to be dealt differently according to ability and potential or "upside". I totally agree AVB is more important to us than Kenty and IMO has considerable upside if both are compared fully fit: But both have been dreadful on the fitness front. I dare say if Paul Burgess had been here for the last 3 years all of AVB Kent Viney Hogan Joel and Tim Smith and Tommy MAC and Stephan May may have been very different.
  11. Yes but it's monetary support that keeps the Club alive and strong!
  12. I knew you would interpret my post wrongly Redleg. I am saying In my opinion Locky's form last year AS A FORWARD in ONE GAME ONLY was better than ANB Kossie or Spargo this Marsh series and therefore he does not deserve to be selected In Round1. However he has shown excellent Defender's traits and deserves his opportunity as a result of this form, as he offers the aggressive approach we need from the backline. in fact I am so bullish about JL that I believe he could have a 7/10 year career as a small defender for the Dees. I also believe that the role of at least one of the small forward that we need is specifically a Kossie, Bedford Or more Spargo style of crumbing type. Many if our resting mids and Vanders are able to perform the other role on the other flank or pocket, Better than Locky at this stage. Lets see how our Selectors choose the team which will be at least 25 % better than in 2019 at this stage even more so later in the year with development and all players bar one or two available putting pressure on each position. Go Dees
  13. Red in short Locky form not good enough last year in forward line to replace ANB Spargo or Kossie in this years form! They play a better half forward or forward pocket role than Locky IMO.
  14. No I don't think his (JAy) standard of hff or fp is better than others in those positions ahead of Spargo Kossie or ANB this season (hasn't played there has he? Or last year in only one game) he Doesn't have the tricks of those 3 of kicking and turning. Msybe we could also try him on the wing at Casey as insurance against Tommo or Ed bring injured or beaten on the day. BUT absolutely deserves place in a 7 defenders named in the 22 fir Round1.
  15. Yes fir sure but Locky in the 22 giving us Harmes and Salem plus that extra versatility seems the answer. Also big question what if Langdon or Tommo are beaten or injured? Who goes wing? ( or half forward?) I think Salem Or Harmes or Lockhart would be among my first choices!! Letd see what the selectors producer?
  16. Add Clarry or Angus or Harmesy even Jack or Jonesy I'm lieu of Trac and still a huge upside.
  17. BS whoever came up with that needs his or her eyes checked !!!
  18. Understand RG but with Lockhart in my opinion (even considering his inexperience ) offers something different ie pace carry and small forward minding capability more than Jets Hibbo Salem and rven Harmsey. Disposal is also an attribute in the speed of delivery being quicker even than Salem Certainly 7 defenders need to be in the team and that means Salem and Harmes are flexible for mid field or forward rotations.!
  19. Not at the expense of Lockhart being selected.
  20. Yes great question. Not Any of the talls Omac Maysie and Jake if the 3 are necessary as in Round 1. On exposed form Hibbo is the one under pressure. However Have the Selectors Got the balls to make a change? Or is JayL in the 22 which seems the answer. Would be a good match up for Ryan who may be a bit quick for Jets or Salo. (Am I underestimating them?)
  21. Sarah Could well be the icing on the cake and ensure that even on bad days (like the Saints) we will Not kick ONE goal and many behinds to lose unexpectedly to a lesser skilled and more accurate opponent.
  22. It's the type of maturing of many being in the system now for four years plus new talent that can at least nail opportunities that up until this season have been left squandering. Yes there is a chance of a flag as we put real pressure on the opposition more than other teams and our defence had held up remarkably all year. All done with about 23/25 girls and the rest out injured. Team first mantra very strong is also our base.
  23. JL is a naturally gifted and intuitive footballer who plays with aggression passion and self belief and is team orientated and breaks lines as well. Mark 10/10 PS disposal only very slight query under pressure ! Just what we need a replacement for Jayden Hunt ( sadly) who could start a 7/10 year career.
