  1. Who wants Cotchin and Riewoldt to have 3 flags?
  2. While I agree with your sentiments and regard this action as a no brainer it is up to Nev really and medical advice and family and footy Club discussions. The main reason Nev has dropped Down in the pecking order of our Small defenders ( or just defenders!) Is his sharp decline in pace and flexibility. This has made him Very vulnerable But he still puts his body ( and head) on the line in a crush or crunch situation. His retirement is very close when we take all things into this discussion and zi am surprised this Magpie Discussion has even raised its head. Rivers and Lockhart are the other Main items in this discussion of our defence and its future way past tjis or next season. Pretty sure a one year contract still open won't be the major discussion point about our much loved and respected No 39.
  3. Turner from the GC Details Will is 22 played 20 games Is 189cm 89 kg and has kicked 3 goals.Would be 2017 draft. Listed as an inside mid/centre player from Murray Bushrangers.
  4. Turner so You are happy with our Last 15/30 players form on our list. isnt the idea to improve our playing list so that we can gather 26/26 classy players on our list doable if playing different positions if necessary. I suspect you dont even know who Brodie is snd are too lazy to search. He is about 21 188 cm and 85/90 kg and is a First Round draft pick of about 2 years ago.Generally a flanker and can play tall fir his height and has good pace. Is versatile snd would have a decade or more footy left and ai think is a Victorian. GC are looking to offload and have too many of his type. I will check my facts and i I paste eith any further info Turner.
  5. Very sad for Nathan and family. Best wishes and sympathies to all the Joneses.
  6. Axis and Redleg What a whole lot of lies lies and stats!!! The only reason you can come up with your "Fritsch to Defence " argument is to furnish a dodgy convoluted mass of other Clubs vs our goal scoring from smalls mids and Talls. The real situation is that each Club has mixture of all 3 and depending upon their abilities and numbers the goals are scored accordingly. It doesn't make one system better than the other OR make Melb worse because you identify that Fritsch is our problem because he is neither tall nor small!!!IE MEDIUM The real fact is that Bayley is hands down OUR best forward by goals scored ( 22 from 16 games ) especially as his season total would have been about 22.24/28 I reckon. And he has weaknesses in accuracy strength Marking and tackling which if developed properly will make him a 40/45 goal scorer each year. Fsr more valuable than sky other firward at this stage and nearly as good as Tomac in 2018. We could afford to play Bayley in defence ( in lieu of Lever injured) then but NOW not so. We need Brown Weid Jacko Petty to all develop to 30/35 plus goal kickers If they are talls in our Forward line. Bayley should be selected no matter who is named ie 4 talls inc Jacko or 3 smalls say Spargo Bedford snd Kossie. Its the mediums that fail us ( other than Bayley ) is Melk Hannan ANB AVB so we don't abandon our best forward but work around him to get the best balance. BTW Trac is a medium and plays 30/40% forward!!! Occasionally Bayley May be at FF just to change things a bit ( one on one advantage especially) but that is a luxury only fir say 5% of the time not fir a long time as Goody has gone too often to our detriment. So I can't imagine our team if we win a flag in the next 4/5 years having Bayley any where else other than firward kicking twice as many as he is now amongst some better figures from both our talls and smalls. No,No and No to Fritta in defence the old adage is ratbags you the backline and Bayley ain't no ratbag he is an A grader just waiting to bloom up forward.
  7. Don't quote me Ohio David USA but the news may not have hit your fly over State With Trump trying to look like re-election material. Brad and Pia parted ways about 3/4 years ago but both have a hand in Access to their children. I would stand corrected if this is not the case as tjis is the last I have heard in that time. As fir Brad coming back nit sure what skills he had in an largely underWhelming career with us.
  8. Such as ? He is a first round draft pick!!! Can play HB HF and I presume wing and even on the ball A young player of high potential better than any of our 15/30 list players based on 2020 form and Suns ready to offload him cheaply.
  9. Didn't you notice LH that Tommo was CHB in the last few rounds and made a very good fist of it. He slso is versatile and cN play as back up ruck Not useless on the wing and go forward At times plus perform a lock down role in defence and add depth to our Club in doing so. IMO he will be a good selection and valuable by the end of his 4 years without winning the BandF!
  10. Fritsch will also improve agsin and he will get confidence if we recruit Brown. He is a 35/40 goal forward once accuracy and strength are added to his package. And he wants to improve also which is great news, Yes pressure is vital and Melky is on the edge if he can't change his game as Spargo or Bedford or even Narkle if we get him are far better tacklers. We need about 9/10 players who can rotate through inc Hunt as well and Zi would keep ANB rather than Hannan.
  11. Absolutely and Phillips Narkle Will Brodie of Suns plus Isaac Smith offer some much Needed ability fir a cheap price. We need some HF or wing depth.
  12. No problems LH but if every player whose form was not great in 2020 is excused because of 2019 fitness and 2020non VFL footy we won't improve our list. Mitch is 26 ANB 24 I think AVB is 28 but under contract and I am in favour of retaining Toby Bedford and happy with Spargo's 2020 progress with 2 of his very best games vs Pies and Giants. We need that EACH week of course. But Mitch is older and that IMO weighs against potential fir improvement. Hrnce my negotiation suggestion re player rather than a draft pick trade.
  13. That's an irresponsible and mischievous comment without IMO any real knowledge of the true facts. Lets know if you have any proof of this or not! Deanox.?
  14. I think we should get Michael Voss in as our midfield coach If he is available. Surely he could lift our mids a level or two. Tracs improvement may well be the benchmark for players to aim but that is more on an individual level. Voss would bring a new dynamic to the group which would be a great result IMO.
  15. Also in this idea should be the same with Pruess don't give him away value a player from GWS if we think we can use him in the trade negotiations Yhey need a ruck more than we need a Flanker or FP or winger etc.
  16. I am a fan of Mitch but if we Think he can't Offer more ie improve in 2021 then let him go. Maybe look at a trade of a player from the Dogs like Trengove or Schacke or even AhChee. All have greater potential ( and Could be are a level above Mitch's best ) therefore a 3 Rd or 4 th rounder might be necessary to get a deal done . Just think that our Player bottom no's 15/30 this year were so disappointing ( and of course they did it tough With no real games ie VFL) but we have no tome to waste with players that aren't going to improve us. Mitch's fitness is a bit of a query ( as would Ah Chee's be also) But let's look at next opportunity to switch a couple of deck chairs Ie nothing ventured nothing gained!
  17. All get aboard the Trac Train for success
  18. Where have we indicated Preuss will be traded for "relatively little"? Hopefully not let's get a player or high 3 or low2 fir him.
  19. And Carlton in the mix again! No wonder they are cold on DeGoey also.
  20. And a first season later no reason to alter my opinion on Jacko. Going nicely pity he had injury at end of season. Cant wait till next year to see him develop.
  21. Said that in my posts and have no doubt about it.
  22. I'd rather have May and Lever mentoring my HB flankers than Jetta.
  23. Move on neither fit the wing !!!
  24. Good summary and realistic potential can be realised by a Trac approach to his footy.
