  1. We certainly won't be playing a home game in Darwin next season if only because it's now a Gold Coast zone. If we do play a second game in the NT then my guess would be an away game against GC in the top end and we split the NT funding for the game down the middle. I might be one of the few people that enjoys going down to Hobart to watch a game and making a long weekend out of it. I just wish there was more open on a Sunday in the town as it can get a bit boring. A second visit to MONA was one too many. I agree with some of the other posters in that double up games against the bigger clubs are likely to make up for any financial shortfall in being the away side in both of our marquee games next year. Assuming the likes of Collingwood, Richmond & Essendon haven't dropped off the cliff come the back end of the season (mixed feelings there as I'd probably rather see them down the bottom). The key might be getting 50k Dees supporters to attend our games regardless of who we're playing. More marquee time slots will definitely help with that.
  2. Where are you getting the replays from DJ? I had a look on Kayo and the AFL website the other week, primarily looking for the Anzac Eve game but couldn't find anything before the North game in Hobart online.
  3. Haha. Hi Cards. I was referring to his vegan diet.
  4. Ben is one of my favourites at the club. When there was talk about him joining us I thought he'd fit right in and that has shown to be the case thankfully. He might also be our first carbon neutral signing.
  5. Haha. Yeah I know. Irons too almost.
  6. Good to hear Mickey. I have The Enforcer (Maysie), Clarry and Wingers Club ones. I'll throw them in with the next 'whites only' wash I do before wearing them for the first time. Won't go near them with a hot iron though.
  7. I'd like to see a daily merchandise $$$ tally on the MFC website, much like the membership tally updates.
  8. Hi Mickey. I've just received the three t-shirts I ordered from them and the players and writing on the front have that plastic iron on look and feel and aren't screen printed on. I'll be interested to see how many washes on the cold water delicate cycle they survive before starting to degrade.
  9. Soulless, feckless, gormless, absolutely. Selfless? Give me a break!
  10. Mark Maclure is the biggest of the media dinosaurs I think and his screen time on 360 has been whittled down to just a five minute moanfest each week. At a time when just a year out of the game can see a coach playing catch up what does it say about someone that's been out of it for the best part of forty years. As for his his own club. All fur coat and no knickers, as the saying goes.
  11. My three t-shirts from the Deebrief website arrived today so I'll be strutting them on the west side of town as soon as the weather comes good again.
  12. Safe to say he's Welsh on his father's side then.
  13. I've ordered 3 x t-shirts from the Deebrief website (Clarry, Wingers Club & The Enforcer) as well as the Weg poster. I'd really like one of the New Era bucket hats some of the players train in too but they are sold out everywhere. The club should release a special premiership video with unseen footage. 57 years worth! I still can't believe this is all real.
  14. 10:05pm That is the moment of our premiership dear Bulldogs. 10:10pm Wtf...!! 😂 😂 😂
  15. Morning Green Demon. Sean was a Glaswegian although he was scouted from County Kerry where he played Gaelic football. His nickname at the club was haggis.
  16. I'm waiting for The Banner Lady to to do a large premiers banner.
  17. I saw an interview yesterday where Trac said we hadn't won a premiership since 1967, which made me think. Unlike our scarred supporter base these players aren't weighed down with the baggage of the past and for the most part their knowledge of the Melbourne Football Club dates back only to the time they were drafted and placed in the hands of our fantastic football department. They are young, hungry to win and know no fear.
  18. The day has finally arrived. Time to send these doggies off to Trash Island.
  19. "I'm back dominating the paint" & "Just call me Shaqasso" x 3 million times. Oh, I forgot. The game is on channel 7.
  20. It was tongue in cheek BBP.
  21. Speak for yourself BBP. I want one from my boss's son's family who got the four barcodes I sent and will be sitting front row on the wing tomorrow.
  22. Jesus I'm so sick of these Shaquille O'Neal adverts they're playing ad nauseam on Fox.
  23. Fabulous. Thanks for the heads up Cass!
  24. I much prefer the '21 Weg edition to the Mark Knight one. I'll definitely get one I can frame but I'd prefer it didn't have the little Wegart logo that draws your eye to the bottom left corner. Those demons from our 1950's era look fantastic.
  25. Hi WJ. There was also a 7.1 quake in Los Angeles between the two Fosters Cup games we played at the end of the 1987 season. I was there for them both and the second one was due to be played at the Coliseum but was then moved back to Vancouver where we'd first played Sydney. We went on to win the World Championship beating North in the final. On a side note. My auntie & her family were living in Glendora at the time, just on the other side of the San Gabriel mountains from the epicentre of that quake and the shaking completely emptied their swimming pool.
