  1. Not sure how I feel about being the warm up act for Port v Dogs. If an entrance ticket allows you to watch both games will we see the supporters and cheer squads of three Melbourne based teams all shoehorned into the grassed hill at the scoreboard end?
  2. I hear ya BBO. I can actually sense my brain cells dying if it's on in a mate's car. That said someone at SEN hasn't done their jew diligence on this one.
  3. Hi LH. I think I read earlier in this thread that it’s Adelaide v Carlton, Port v Dogs and one other I can’t quite remember.
  4. Talkback sports radio tends to have a very low bar when it comes to what passes for intellect and humour so this revelation is hardly a surprise.
  5. So they drop Round 1 in its entirety at 6am on a Sunday but just a third of “magic” round by 6pm today? 🤨
  6. Happy with this. Saturday night prime time beats Sunday at 1.30pm or 4.40pm. If the gate doesn't top 50k then that's on our own fair weather fan base, not the dogs.
  7. Can they just release the fixture instead of drip feeding us individual games.
  8. i wish the commentator would pronounce Harry Souttar's name properly. He comes from a village between Aberdeen and Dundee and his brother plays for Rangers. His surname is pronounced soo - ter without any emphasis on either syllable. Not soo TAAR.
  9. Looks like he's already gone past Weids.
  10. I'd have loved for someone to have handed her a red hand of Ulster flag to see the look on her face. It's probably the kind of cheeky thing I would have done back in the day when I was running the cheer squad. Even if it ran the risk of getting a belt in the mouth.
  11. Hi BDA. I know, I'm just being mischievous. Nobody that plays GAA when she's at home would be a unionist.
  12. Last time I looked County Armagh was in Northern Ireland 🤔
  13. As far as shambolic presentation ceremonies go it wasn't a patch on 80 year old A League chairman, Frank Lowy falling off the stage and landing on his head when the Victory won it. They even had a slow motion replay. I like how the other guy's first priority was making sure the trophy was saved.
  14. After 7 years of pain...it's coming home!
  15. Hi Pickett. This didn't seem to be a problem when it came to chopping down a number of mature elm trees on St Kilda Road, some of which were over 100 years old, to build the new Anzac underground station. Apparently 90 trees are for the chop.
  16. Shambolic. Assuming the weekend of the GF was known when the H&A draw was released then all competing clubs outside Victoria should have been told to nominate and secure an AFL standard ground at that time if they wanted to host it. Not an issue for Victorian clubs as the AFL own Docklands Stadium.
  17. I'm sure I read they were considering Cairns as an option. I know that Brisbane deserve the right to host the GF but the minimum requirement should be that it's played at a suitable standard of venue that will both maximise the match day attendance and provide conditions that are suitable for showcasing the players skills. They seem to have spent the last week looking at every oval shaped park in Queensland in an effort to keep the game up there. If it can't be played at the Gabba or Metricon then it probably shouldn't be played in that state.
  18. Nothing available in Shelbyville? It’s just next door.
  19. Just turned on the game with a few minutes left. Nice to see the Kangas really making the most of the final opportunity to sing their song this season.
  20. The ground is called Princes Park, not Princess Park.
  21. Does the final team get a school blazer like the boys do?
  22. Could this be the first sporting venue to now self identify as a female?
  23. Perhaps having a railway platform and walk bridge where the line passes the northern side of the ground for match day use only, a bit like the old General Motors station not far away, would make a difference. In 5 years even the away team could catch a train straight from the airport without having to change. To use a VFA analogy it's like Springvale playing their home games out at Kilsyth every second week instead of Newcomen Road.
  24. Gold Coast’s window must be into an alternative universe where they don’t perpetually suck.
