  1. Some observations, Plenty were culprits but vines and harmes in particular kept trying to break tackles when it just wasn't working. An extension of this point was that every dees player thought they had a lot more time and space than they did, some efforts looked very lackadaisical when the players should all of known how hot the contest was. Bombing inside forward 50 DOES NOT WORK, this problem continues to persist and I'm not sure why we havent seen a tangible difference in this area. Complete inability to win clearance and smashed at stoppages. This is our bread and butter and yet geelong always had the spread or outlet handball, it was really frustrating when this persisted throughout the whole game and we never covered their spread. Small forwards were all pretty much non-factors and when they had a chance to assert themselves on the game, kozzy's missed goal, bedford spending it before he had it, spargo kicking the ball to the one geelong player surrounded by 4 dees players. ANB was the one small that showed one iota of chase and intensity and even then he was far from the ANB we all know. Steven had to be sick or injured because there is no way on god's green earth, he is playing that badly fully fit. did someone spike his pre-game red bull because I was lost for words at his performance. As is usually the case, the team with the better bottom 6 gets the win, sparrow, jordon, bowey, bedford, kozzy, spargs just so far off it. Max and Luke looked underdone, both weren't quite themselves. Fitness looks a far-cry from what burgo built last year, collectively as a fan base we went from knowing we would run over the oppo in the last to being unsure whether or not we would make it through the last. Just so many bad individual performances and not how a Melbourne game should look, big week on the training track please.
  2. I've heard that geelong fans will be torching some ford falcons in celebration tonight.
  3. If I never have to lay eyes on that dump of a ground or that degenerate fan base ever again, i'll be a happy man.
  4. Carbon copy of the dogs game at the g last year. get close but overrun late because you can't get away with it when a lot of your team are well off their best.
  5. Back 6 need to majorly switch on, start winning some more contest and clearance and lower the eyes inside 50. Geelong fans make me 🤮
  6. as was the case with our game, the interpretation of holding the ball only applied to one team. The adjudication of prior opportunity and incorrect disposal has been bafflingly inconsistent today.
  7. geez, gold coast really hard done by, umpiring very favourable to collingwood in the last.
  8. Can we give clarry a 7 year extension every week??? Played a blinder!!!!
  9. From dogga's most recent insta post, is bowza secretly a demonland poster as well????
  10. What struck me in the interview the club posted today is that when he was asked what his goals were over the next couple of years, he instantly went to team success as opposed to individual milestones that he wanted to accomplish over his career. (He's going to keep racking up personal honours but that goes without saying) Hopefully this is indicative of where gus and dogga are in there contract talks! #Rangasdoitbetter
  11. Give Cam Pedersen a call I reckon!
  12. This was the one that Harris Andrews spoiled over the line right?? If it is, I thought the exact same when I saw it unfold. A goal would have topped it off for him but a stellar performance nonetheless.
  13. The only thing that gets me more aroused than a big hit from Kozzy, is an even bigger hit from Vines!!
  14. Viney's performance was one of his best in a Dees jumper, knocked himself out and went straight back into the middle, couldn't get tackled and reorganised someone's spine with that pile driver of a hit in the last. and what about James Jordon, he is owning the members side wing, not only looking comfortable but in career best form I'd argue.
  15. Was critical of him last week but boy oh boy was he huge today, Rick Lever you legend!! Just the game he needed to get into some form. The growing exasperation of the Brisbane fans behind me every time he took an intercept mark was marvellous. 😂
  16. I'm really feeling it currently but I have to say well done Angus Brayshaw!! He absorbed so much pressure in the third, stoop up in a big way when others didnt. One of a few that can hold his head high today, as was the case with Maxy's effort last week though, you can't leave it to one man or a small group of players to win it for you, it has to come from everyone. Collingwood's bottom 6 absolutely dominated our bottom 6 today. But superb effort Gus, you played a ripper!
  17. Third week in a row of being thoroughly out marked. Not only can we just seem to not compete in marking contests but we don't defend uncontested marks on defensive transition. I mean we can all see these issues, they are blatantly obvious, why oh why are the coaches not even vaguely changing our style or game plan from quarter to quarter or even from week to week.
  18. Everyone will say that Jake only plays well when Steve is in the team, which is a shocking excuse, you can't play afl and only be able to play well as long as another person is in the team. Your form cannot and should not be solely dependant on one other player. I know the argument and I get it, but Steve's absence cannot excuse the performance he dished up today. and besides, even when Steve has been in the team this year, Jake has yet to have hit his straps. He is a shell of the All Australian defender he was last year. Not sure what has happened to him.
  19. They kicked 9 out of the last 10 goals or something like that right?? what happened to the team that was 19 points down in a grand final and put on 100 points after that, where have they gone??????????? Wheres the mental fortitude or toughness to stand up when we don't have momentum. I just can't comprehend how bad we are at the moment.
  20. The concern is that we have seen the exact same thing three weeks in a row. It's all been said before and yet nothing has changed from week to week. Top 4 is looking incredibly unlikely if this continues let alone even making the eight. If you have no avenue to goal, and cant convert when u do get a look, you can't kick enough to win the game, its a pretty simple equation. I know the players care but they just don't have the fight and intensity that they did last year. The last three weeks, our opposition has wanted it a whole lot more than we have. I feel like if we were going to fix our issues, it would have happened by now.
  21. Who’s going to stand up??
  22. 10 contested marks to 1 that quarter, shocking marking effort.
  23. We don’t know how to enter our own forward 50
  24. Sydney game all over again, stop kicking it directly to Collingwood players going inside 50. FFS
  25. Stop kicking it to Moore!!
