  1. Mine too!
  2. We just lost to the runaway leader of the competition by a point in a game where we were the better side for long periods of time. Is there stuff we need to work on to get better? Absolutely no doubt. But posts like this are just hyperbolic nonsense.

And 96kg. Have you watched him play Greg?

Brown’s a few rungs above Derksen. Would be a great get. Just goes to show GWS’ embarrassment of key position riches…
  5. If you’d told me at the start of the season that after 11 rounds we’d be 5-6 but I’d be feeling as positive about the club as I am, I’d have suggested you got your head read. Just have to keep this momentum going Dees.
  6. Yep the deebrief guys are always complimentary about demonland, don’t think anyone does or should see it as a ā€œrivalryā€.
  7. Because he’s shown next to nothing when he’s played from the start mate. His energy shines through when he comes on for a quarter when the opposition’s tiring.
  8. If Jack’s not ready it’s Tholstrup or Hendo for mine. Would like to see Hendo get a chance while we’re playing some decent footy unlike the ****eshow of the start of the season when that position was an absolute graveyard.

  10. Totally agree that we’re moving past the point where we can have both Oliver and Viney in the same midfield. But it’s not Oliver who’ll find his spot in jeopardy. He can do everything Jack can do but to a higher level. Because of everything you say about getting minutes into all those others, who all make us better, for me Jack has to re-invent himself as a pressure forward if he’s going to keep himself in the 22.
  11. I was pretty disappointed with the way Christian handled himself towards the end of last year. But credit where it’s due, he’s put his head down, bum up, gone to work and re-invested in his footy club. Congratulations on the milestone Melbourne’s only Norm Smith medallist, may there be plenty left to come šŸ‘
  12. We’ve got one of the best member to attendance ratios in the competition you peanut.
  13. I spent quite a bit of time with him as his partner is the Mum of one of my good friends. Just a thoroughly decent man who made you feel important every time you talked to him. Interested in you, listened, asked questions. Usually with a twinkle in his eye. No longer in pain. RIP Wallsy.

    How old Dazz?

Yeah Robbo said on the DeeBrief a couple of weeks ago that Greeny’s kid is very much one to watch in a couple of years time…

Jeff's separated with the mother of the boys, so an upheaval would be complicated...
  17. Onya Sandra Sully!
  18. Desperately hoping you’re right mate!
  19. Pretty disrespectful way to speak to one of the few posters who actually attends training frequently and provides valuable updates. And he’s right, our training schedule this year is different to all other 17 clubs. I thought this was common knowledge?
  20. I agree with you, as usual. To me Tholstrup is a 6/10 in just about every trait. Far be it from me to criticise Jason Taylor who’s hit most high picks out of the park, but I don’t see any standout weapons that a top 15 pick should have. He’s a decent kick, a decent mark, decent physicality, seems a good teammate. But a pick 50 would get you that. I don’t see any class. I’m worried he’s a Luke Tapscott.
  21. Sadly he doesn’t have the smarts and running patterns of ANB. Brisbane let him go because they felt like he was a headless chook and having watched him closely at games there’s not much rhyme or reason to a lot of his movement. Love to be proved wrong.
  22. Well no side has replicated that five minutes since, or possibly previously. It was football from the dream factory. That's why it'll be talked about for generations. If it was that easy to do we'd be kicking 700 points a game!

Racetrack Ralphy who's not everyone's cup of tea but is a passionate Demon and long time media figure put it best when I heard him speak before a game years ago. For the big clubs, good news sells. That's why you'll rarely see anything critical about Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn, Geelong and West Coast in WA. And why you get the annual "this is their year - things are different this time around" article about Essendon when they're 7-5 at halfway before the inevitable falling off a cliff. For the smaller clubs, bad news sells. Only a small amount of people actually care about any good news, the vast majority only want to read about any drama or negative slants about the likes of Norf, Dogs, us, Saints and Freo in WA. This isn't to say that every negative report on us is rubbish by the way, but that's always stuck with me.
  24. Mate we all love Clarry. He will go down as one of the club's greatest ever footballers. But the club ALWAYS comes first. He hasn't performed to anywhere near the value of his contract for a couple of years now, and if he wants a fresh start it might be the best thing for all parties as long as we're fairly compensated. Discussing this isn't disrespectful in the slightest. It will sting seeing him in another team's colours but we're at a really important list management juncture at the moment. If we don't get these decisions right, with Tassie about to come into the comp and compromised drafts, we'll be destined for another long period in the wilderness. Strong clubs make strong, considered, objective decisions.
