  1. Are you serious? I must admit though that I have tried to purchase items of a practical nature and not just decorative so I have avoided posters and photos. And being in FNQ many items are very impractical. Then again not sure what I am going to do with 4 caps/t shirts... TBH I feel as if I should make an modest donation to the club.
  2. I remember Roos said Salems kick was never in doubt as he was the best kick at the club.
  3. Not sure how BT got the gig but you do have to cater for a widest audience as possible. That Raving Brian segment he used to do did not appeal to me at all but I am sure there are some out there who liked it....Provided he has a competent caller next to him I can live with it. I dislike James Brayshaw as a 'media personality' but his call of the GF was excellent. Best special comments are Daisy and Leppa. What I dont like is when commentators talk so much they miss the game eg Gawns goal out of the ruck.
  4. TBH I am not sure that Maynard would have fitted in anyway.
  5. Um yeah being in the last 6 or so implies that he is the last of the starting 18 to be picked...don't think so.... Hibbo, TMc, Bowey, even Kossie when gone off the boil surely gets more talk around the selection table.
  6. At last we have an umpires friend.....used to infuriate me when at Norf now loving it....
  7. I watched the last quarter again too. 2 new things stood out. Jackos kick on goal - when it left the boot the pack got ready to contest/spoil then just stopped as it sailed through. The ball gets extra lift at that ground? Adem Yzes head - it is enormous.
  8. 2021 - winning the flag. Mr 2000?, some days I feel like it. (Will soon be eligible to play for the Cats).
  9. I never thought it would be this good.
  10. With the cheese boards well and truly sold out I thought the picnic table might be fancied, but no.....
  11. Does being a childhood Demon supporter count? I admit all his accolades came at the Dogs but a goal average of 3+ is marginally short of his career average.
  12. Young legs are better than old legs
  13. Can't wait to see him in action. At 192cm not sure where he fits but if he has the talent will find a way.
  14. True. And if you dont like the player who will be available at your pick, then you try and trade the pick up or down the list.
  15. Perhaps 2023 and beyond. I hear there is a gun father/son in the pipeline, goes by the name of Methuselah.
  16. Have you been on the Baileys?
  17. Surely he delivered enough to win the B&F in 1968? And a hamstring away from being a premiership player.......
  18. My lounge room decorations and streamers are still up. Cat attacks them every now and then.
  19. Groom - also a Federal Govt minister
  20. They showed some pace running onto the ground after the GF siren.
  21. One of the commentators said that Fritta was the best footballer to wear #31 since Ron. Another said 'What about Ray Groom?'. Well here is a list of players who have worn 31, courtesy of Demonwiki. At one stage it looks like we tried to demystify the #31. Ray Groom - 92 games, 36 goals. B&F 1968. Missed 1964 with a hammie. Most successful politician to wear Red&Blue? Billy Barham - Rickys brother Paul Goss - Norms brother Peter Garratt - no not that one Phil Carman Kelvin Templeton - averaged 3 goals a game at the Dees but didn't bring ultimate success. Rod Keogh - Trevors nephew. More success at St Kilda. Played in the 1997 GF. Donald Cockatoo-Collins - Che and Davids brother. Paul Wheatley - famous for kicking the first super goal. Un realised potential? Tom Scully - the less said the better. He can 'gut run' into obscurity. Jack Grimes Bayley Fritsch - premiership player who averages 6 goals in a GF. To me it is Fritta vs Groom (vs Templeton). Does anyone remember Groom playing? All I can remember is that he collided with a goal post. Certainly none of the above can beat Bayleys medal.
  22. Why on earth would we want a 29 year old? We are not coming up to a premiership window, we have smashed the door down and grabbed the cup. Our goal to goal line is starting to look old. Lets pick someone with youth and exuberance, which is what won us the cup. St Kilda perhaps...
  23. I know where I sit on Sparrow, absolute fan. 2nd and 3rd efforts are great. Sparrows kick to Fritta for his first probably would have gone through for a goal. Agree there were other options other than his long bomb but as ND said 'You can break team rules provided it comes off'.
  24. What about Mahal?
