I don't think the Cordners liked him. Back in the 1930s some players only source of income was playing footy and if they were taken out of the game for a couple of weeks it made it very hard on their families.
The other obvious player who left on bad terms is Stephen Powell who walked out on the club and went to St Kilda!!!!! for free!!!!
Great to see him with Neale and the boys and the cup.

Can anyone suggest a game or two that shows James Jordon at his best this year?
I have some spare time......

Thirsty lad. If he is in the Top End he will need it.
I wonder how his hammie is going.

Germany is going back into lockdown, this isn't over.
Not it isn't. Germany and Austria are going into lockdown for the unvaxxed. I have been completely unselfish by getting vaxxed and I hope others will do so too.

We're all wearing masks, okay! And, we're double-dosed and we're more than 1.5 metres away. Just for the record.
Not in FNQ we aint. Up here you struggle to get people to wear clothes.....

Seriously?
Yep.....(You were supposed to reply Not Who, Hugh)
So here is a player now at his 3rd club, who has jumped ship/snatched from the team that was 16th to the team that was last. Averages just over a goal every second game and will be 30 at the start of the season.
Is North Melbourne the new Geelong?
What twisted reality have I fallen into. Is GC being run by a chipmunk collective?. FMSWs.

Last 3 top right are medical staff I believe Cunningham, Daff and Fenton.
There is a short interview with Yze at this event on the MFC website. Looks great.

A few that JT didn't nail or are yet to nail. Mostly late picks, I didn't look above 53. He has a tremendous success rate. Instrumental to our flag.
JKH 40
Billy Stretch 42
OMac 53
Weid 9
Mitch King 42
Hannah 46
Baker 46
Nietzsche 53When I see those picks perhaps there is a strong case for bundling your 3rd and 4th round picks and trading them for a pick < 40.

Great to see Buckets Holland there.
I thought all Hollands were called Dutchy...like all red heads were called bluey, except when they were called sauce...
The past players look so happy......

I don't know any who stopped supporting the Dees though my sister stopped buying a membership and my very elderly aunty spent her spare time writing stinging critiques of the teams performance to the committee.

I would love to ask Goody what Burgess was saying to him during the 3rd quarter.
It was more than just a comment, as he was talking to him for about a minute.
They were discussing fitness and rotations and Burgo said that the players were fit, rested and ready to go Bang, Bang, Bang.....BANG

Thanks for those who answered this. I was aware of the Clarrie and Gawn 'moves'. I just thought there must have been more than that. And Jontee says there may be even less.
Why thankyou. And if at one stage BB was at full back doing goodness knows what, perhaps it is the game style, preparation and the licence the players have been given is of more importance.

Has Liam Jones retired?

Clarry shadowed the Bont from third quarter on but no knowledge of the origin of that master stroke.
Might have been a comment from Yze or Chico or Goody "to keep in touch with the Bont in this half " perhaps OR Clarry giving a peep into his future coaching skills after he retires.
Or the defensive 6 yelling at Clarrie to 'Stand on the Bont'

Probably I missed it, but I can't recall any posts discussing what coaching changes (if any) were made in the second half. Any ideas?
That used to be the talk of Monday, the genius/[censored] move (or not) made by the coach.....not any more
Now it seems so much more scripted; most rotations seem to be at the behest of the performance guru, who might not even be watching the game.
And there seem to be some set rules; if player X goes off, then player Y takes his position and Z goes....

Who was at fault really ?
Defenders or mids??
I am fairly certain that Clarrie was on Treloar when he kicked his first, ANB was on the Bont when he kicked his last, Viney on the Bont when he took a pack mark (like really), Spargo gave away an head high to Hunter, not sure of the rest....

Mrs wanted to watch some crap on the ABC so I sat that out and watched the replay. Had some quality problems with the videos so watched the 2nd quarter. With hindsight it was a very good quarter of footy.
What I have realised is that the Dogs midfield kicked most of their goals. 7/10.
Room for defensive improvement next year?

Well to be honest it is all about relationships and team mates. I assume Howe is happy for TMc. Bevo keeps in touch with some mates from his days at the Dees. If we weren't playing against them I am sure he would happy for our win.
I wonder who Scully keeps in touch with.

Michael Hibberd? If it wasnt for a hamstring and an ankle may not have been picked for the GF?

With Big Carl, his 25.5% win:loss ratio probably improves not counting games he where he was suspended or injured. He made his team walk taller. Loved the big man!
My memory of Big Carl as a demon was Carl throwing a back hander and hitting Kelly O'Donnell in the gob.

Is it possible to maintain long term success with a policy of mature age recruiting?
Depends on your definition of success I suppose. Geelong are a well managed, very professional club. They have made the most of their natural advantage, playing at Kardinia Park against sides down the list. Furthermore their list over the years has been rather durable. So they are doing lots of things right. But they hadn't added any silverware.
Now the ex Cats coaches have resigned and Scott has been given an extension to do what....? Even Scott has said that they have trying to fill gaps for the last few seasons.
So long term success, no.

Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon

Now I have only watched the first quarter. JJ had 10 disposals, had a hand in the Swans first 2 goals, disposal by foot was terrible but did dish out some good hand passes.
On to the second quarter.
