Feels like we are sitting in Seat 1A but are still being served the economy meal.
Gee that brings back a memory. Unprompted I got upgraded to Business Class on a flight from MEL to SYD. By the way the attendant threw my meal at me I think they might have upgraded the wrong Mr Jontee.
PS: I think a Wednesday night game is a stinker.

But as they mentioned when you kick 12 in a row in a Granny it’s hard to be critical.!!

The moral of this story is probably not to do online shopping in a state of drunken euphoria.

What amazes me is there are so many posts and features on a player, when from 2 months out from the draft, was never going to be available to the MFC.
Where is the 20 page thread on say Daicos?

Febey. Without a doubt. Even though I think his twin was better!
Agree. And from all reports was nicer too.

Interesting that Brian Cook played 4 games for us in 1977, couldn’t have been much of a player.lol!!
I wonder if he is in past players association......

Having a Jacob on the list got me researching. Came across Graeme Jacobs, when as a kid I liked to pronounce it Jak Obs. I remember in 64 listening to the radio, 2 big guns up forward, Jacobs and Bourke. Jacobs wore # 20. So here is a list of all the players since 64 who have worn that number.
Graeme Jacobs
Paul Rowlands
Laurie Queay
Shane McSperrin
Paul Hurst - premiership with Carlton
Brian Cook - yes it is him
Graeme Gaunt
Russell Richards - Rhino
Mathew Febey
Troy Broadbridge - great matchup for Hird. RIP
Colin Garland
Corey Maynard
Adam Tomlinson
It is a very even contest but who is the best since 64. I will go Febey/Garland/Tomlinson
Thoughts?

It seems that every footy writer has just discovered the word "frank" and has to use it as often as possible.
If I can be frank, I haven't heard it before; well I have heard of frankfurts, not sure that counts....

If the rival recruiters thought our draftees were that good, how come no-one selected them (especially Howes) earlier than what we did?
I must admit I do cringe when I hear 'We didnt think a quality pick like this would be available so late in the draft'.
and think of this what if scenario...
Say every other club has a different choice for Nos 1 player including MFC who thinks it is JVR. And say all the other clubs agree the 2nd best player is JVR. So in an uncompromised draft the Dees have pick 18 and pick JVR.
So the agreed 2nd best player in the draft goes to the Dees at pick 18 ( I know, we think it mazing)
The humidity in Cairns is pickling my brain.

his wife indicated some disappointment that he wasn’t included in the GF side.
Well I hope so. If your partner doesnt stick up for you, who will.
I was disappointed that he didnt play in the GF but not at the selection decision.

I just re watched the ANZAC game against the Tigers. Excellent game of wet weather footy. Lucky Bolton missed some sitters.
It was great to see Jonesy out there flying the flag for Max and Kossie. He had a grin from ear to ear after the argy bargy.
Most enjoyable. Over the festive season why not give this one another look. Recommended.
Luv ya Jonesy. Does anyone know what his intentions are next year - coaching, VFL, ammos????

While we're at it, I thought Oliver's handball to Sparrow could have been a bit flatter.
And more importantly should Sparrow have given it back

Not sure where to put this, so here is as good as anywhere.
A question to anyone who has seen more of our new draftees than their highlights tape - how good are each boy's kicking skills on the Frost - Salem scale (Frost being 1 and Salem being 10)?
I must admit I am impressed with your scale. We could make a killing out of this. How about a scale for moral fibre (De Goey being 0 and Stynes being 10), I am sure there could be many more.

Waste of an opportunity. But they could still do it now
Cant they just do a pre - order and when they get to a profitable quantity turn on the tap?
No doubt the marketing department wants to produce Furphy beer rather than MFC beer.

Daw is not a genuine ruckman.
Perhaps not, but like LJ, what you want them to do is compete in the contest.
As an aside, I thought Daw was a curious drafting decision due to his age, ability and past injuries. Perhaps they wanted a familiar face for when Mac Andrew arrived. Still, would have won us some brownie points at AFL HQ.
