A poster from Amsterdam might consider adopting the username "Far Canal".

Can you get your mind out of the um canal?  😛

If I was in AmDam I would have chosen NightWatch but perhaps clog would be closer to the mark.

  2. It is with a mixture of despondency and embarrasment that I have to confess that my username is my first name and the initial of my second.

I was going to use Nowcmonthemightydemons but at my age it is best to use something I can effn remember.  And luckily I still remember my name.

(Pres. Reagan visiting a nursing home goes up to one of the residents and says 'Do you know who I am?'.  The resident replies 'No, but if you go to reception they will be able to tell you'.)

Jontee, I am a very keen Patrick Whiter: please elaborate...

From what I have read he was a cranky old astarbar, always falling out with friends even if he had to fabricate the dispute;  got in first and gave them the flick.  Probably didnt want to give anyone the satisfaction of ending the friendship first.  Miserable old 'german biscuit'.

Can anyone, particularly AFL players many of whom, though exceptionally talented in the game, may not be in possession  of the highest intellects,  understand anything that emanates from the oral orifice of the said Mr Lyon?

What orifice are we talking about? OOOps, oral, and how can we tell the difference

Final thought; like many of us, I have a little glimmering memory of maaaany years ago when Ratten was briefly our midfield coach and really started to turn it into an effective unit before being poached.

    Like really?

Ratts was our mid field coach for 1 season, and was then 'poached' to coach a suburban footy second division team for 2 years.

Then gets a assistant job at carlton just before pagan got the axe.

    TBH I smell a ...

For ND~50 this is a no brainer.

28 is a prime time for any footballer and he has a great left boot.

On the broadcast wing and given a chip out from one of the forwards.

    Immediately we are better.

And 25- 30 is usually the years when blokes start to grow up and show some maturity

We had a little chant just for Toby. It’s gonna be sad not ever singing it again. But I’ve been told multiple times by people on here that there’s no room for sentimentality in footy so I guess we’ll just substitute someone else’s name for his. 😭😭😭

Well there is some room within my heart for that secret joy when an an ex Demon plays well.

I am using tiny writing to support my investment in spec savers

    ESPN FOOTY VIEW

    Melbourne

    List needs:

    • Classy midfielder/forward who can pass precisely to inside 50m targets

    • Ruck depth

    • Outside run and speed

    Who should they target?

The major missing link for Melbourne is a classy midfielder/forward who can hit inside 50 targets reliably. 2021 Sandover Medallist, Bailey Rogerswould fill the role perfectly with his versatility to play midfield and forward and his classy skills, strong marking and ball winning capabilities a bonus. With Carlton midfielder Will Setterfield in and out of Carlton's best-22, he may be someone Melbourne could make enquiries into as a further classy midfielder who could add improved balance to the Demons midfield.

While Brodie Grundy has been heavily rumoured to be joining Melbourne, the Demons should be demanding Rory Lobb as part of any deal for Luke Jackson. While Lobb has requested a trade to Western Bulldogs, Melbourne arguably need Lobb more, not just as a ruck, but as a contested marking force close to goal and someone who does not relegate Gawn to spending most of his time forward. What makes the Lobb fit so ideal is that he is ideally suited to a relieving ruck role behind Gawn and gives the Demons the option if Gawn misses games at some point to take over as Melbourne's lead ruck.

While Bradley Hill has been linked to North Melbourne, the wide-open expanses of the MCG would suit Hill much better as it did during his tenure with Hawthorn. With Melbourne a team featuring prolific ball winners, Hill for the Demons would need to do nothing more than just be himself which makes Melbourne his ideal landing spot.

    How depressing....

  9. Just got an email from the MCC

What a wonderful AFL Finals Series we had this year as we finally welcomed back September action to the MCG.

Are they serious?  It was a terrible series and the GF was a shocker.  Someone obviously slept through September.

Meds time… someone needs to take a chill pill or ten. It’s a topic of discussion.

And if you’re gonna take someone to task, at least spell their name correctly. It’s B-I-Z-K-I-T 😜

Ah WCW, dont you love Demonland?

Demonlander staggers out of bed and looks in bathroom mirror.

    DL ' I think I need a shave/ eyebrows plucked'

Mirror 'No you dont, and i never said that, you totally mis repesented me'

DL staggers into hall and looks in hallway mirror.

Mirror 'You need a shave/eyebrows plucked, you igorant eff ing !@#'

Also, the Greg Wells trade in '81 to Carlton for $35k and Vinny Catoggio hurt too.

Greg had been a faithful servant of the club and towards the end of his career we let him go to seek success.  Not every trade can be judged on face value.
