North need a culture builder and someone who can nurture and nourish a young club and get that buy in.
Agree. It took Goody a couple of seasons to get the players to buy in, and that requires patience and an ability to relate, especially to younger players.
Noble is 9 years older than Goody so I doubt he will be successful, should have been head of the football dept instead.
Don't blame JHF for going elsewhere and if his father gets a job at another club it is on.....😀

What with Mothers Day and other celebrations have just watched the replay :
Kozzie could have won the game in the first quarter
Ryder is a good match up for Gawn
TMc looked like a champion (which is a worry for ST Kilda)
Fritta had another lucklustre game
Jordon not noticed then everywhere
Jay and Zac don't like each other
Charlie Spargo
Backs played very high up the ground, hence goals to Rivers and Brayshaw
Commentators comdey hats were well and truly on by implying that the Saints losing by only 38 points was a win. (Shades of NZ 'winning' the 2010 World Cup.)
This time we kicked the goals in junk time.

Jones should get weeks for that reckless elbow on Oliver, as it was high, Intentional and had the possibility of causing serious damage eg Crushed Larynx, The dump on Langdon just as bad.
Jones hit Oliver in the chest and so it wasnt high, but of medium impact and i will say that the force of the blow surprised Oliver.
The dump on Langdon was dangerous though in Jones defence it happened in a split second. Funny enough though most players seem able to avoid doing that.
The response of the umpire and Langdons team mates was professionally appropriate.
Being the younger brother of club legend N Jones, it was a very poor act that dishonoured the family name.

Neeld cops it and understandably so, but in many ways, I don’t think he ever stood much of a chance. Schwab was the CEO who appointed Neeld, Schwab had no support from the playing group, Neeld was seen as his man and was therefore at a genuine chance of having lost the playing group before he ever met them.
In fairness to, or explanation of, Mark Neeld I was under the impression that he was given the brief to turn the place upside down. Unfortunately he did more than that, he levelled it. A dramatic failure of the club at almost every level.

He was a great coach who listened to others but his foul mouth ruined his chances to be a great senior coach when he applied for the MFC senior coaching job they rejected him because of it and selected John Northey who was successful but never could win the ultimate prize because he was more inspiring with his speeches and lack the knowledge of tactics.
The club was broke. A very significant factor in JNs appointment was that he was the cheapest.

Inspired by recent articles in the footy media, I now bring you my ...
SECRETS TO BEATING STEVEN MAY
- Bring the heat
- Back yourself: try to get the ball before he does
- Embrace the challenge
- Employ the air: catch the ball before it hits the ground
- Control scoring: kick it through the tall sticks
-
Play the full 120 minutes
I'm struggling here.
Bring the heat in the old days was bring a linament to apply on certain muscles. Are you proposing something under hand?
Embrace - is this legal under covid guidelines?
Employ the air - I had to ring T White as my vax certificate had not been updated. They had forgotten to push it into the air. As this the air you mean.
Control scoring - Im not touching this though i was very good at nil all.

Weideman has been poor for a month since the Essendon game, although I don't mind him having a run in the ruck to get his hands on the ball as he did on Saturday. If Jackson comes back, Sam should be the one to drop out.
Some go to strange places to have a crack at the Weid. Its all his fault that TMc, completely unaware of 2 very large posts, markings on the ground, goal umpire chappie who stands between the big posts decides to mark what should have been let through as a goal. And how do you know that the Weid wasnt yelling at him?
Still it does make good theatre. Remember M Blight walking straight up to the point line and kicking it through, Percy Jones kicking the post instead of the ball or a young P McKenna, marking the ball on the goal line, (I think he kicked 12). D Tuddenham was not happy.

The Veil of Negativity is gone … forever?
in Melbourne Demons
Essentially yes as we didnt fluke the win, we built a strong list, club and strategy over a period of time. So we know the method.
I am much more relaxed about footy and the win has lessened my enjoyment of the game because most of the other teams appear to be sub standard.
And the games we play are not exciting in that we get comfortably ahead and strangle the opposition.
