  1. Another response needed by MFC. The two frontrunners, have we learned anything from the two games we have already played against them. Could be a good strategic game. Will Bevo or Goods throw all their stuff into the mix? Hoping we play an attacking game and not a dour affair. Let our defence stand up without all the mids flooding back and exhausting themselves. Want accuracy in-front of goals. It has been our achilles heal. Hoping the forward structure is developing quickly. Tackles need to stick and can't let them have easy or uncontested disposals. We won't jump them again in the first (though would like a repeat). So we need to stick close and not let them blow us away early and play for the 4 quarters. It will be a spirited game. Come out angry Dees. Reset the season after some loses. Good chance to win the ones that matter. Go Dees.
  2. Our ball movement will be a thing of beauty. Our ability to get the ball will hurt anyone in the way. Fight, get it and control it. They will chase us all day.
  3. PD's (personality disorders), are a degree of associated problems, we all exhibit some behaviour of each. So it comes down to how dysfunctional we are, not the behaviour. I would suggest OCD (obsessive, compulsive disorder), is a more likely diagnosis within this threads topic and Demonlanders. Look how we get thrown out by change to the schedule and our weekly rituals during the season for our march to the grail.
  4. More like bipolar, up and then down. Schizophrenia is living in delusional states, creating non realities. Which, is not true, we are a good side and have proven our credentials with some great wins. We have not imagined them. Reality is, we are a hard side to beat. Though, our problems are in our head, we need mental strength and agility
  5. Gives us time to study their game plan well before the final series and to adjust in the lead up games. We can still peak if a few more home and away games left. Playing them close to the finals, then we play them when we should be at our best. Play them now and we still have room for improvement, with some fine tuning prior to the real stuff (finals).
  6. We don't have an attacking game plan! Stop start or bomb it long. Selfish football, does it matter how many meters are gained off your own boot. Mentally weak, entitlement and arrogance everywhere, what happened to play angry. Self satisfied lot, better than those at the end of ladder, no repect given and got run off their feet by a faster, more desperate side. We play wrestlemania, win the ball and get it through the line, boot it 50 meters and repeat. No intelligent ball movements, nothing with flair or tempo control. Forwards all tangled with each other. Handballs to stationary or under pressured players. Very little outside run. Goody has them doing too much, and not doing their basic roles. When they face a fast team with pressure they are all out of position. What happened to our ability to put a rally of goals together in a few 10-15 minute burst. Where was our swarm of players. Tended to be individual plays. Some trying too much, and others not assisting. Need players who aren't in and out of the game. Was that our best 22? Time to turn the bathwater tap off, or serve it with those angry pills. I guess percentage doesn't mean as much anymore, so they will win some by 10 goals. Gee the MFC are head cases! We have achieved enough MFC, got to the top of the ladder and held it for a while. Time for some other team to have it, (sarcasm).
  7. Unconvincing, they want to be able to choose when to play. Why are we dragged done to the Hawks level of play. I expected us to play some smooth, free flowing football. We are trying conterpunch and not, lead from the front football.. We are not getting much separation from the defenders, not using the central corridors, creating space, or switching the angles. Playing easy to read football and expecting others to do the work required. Cmon Dees come out harder a play smarter in the second half.
  8. Another stable team at the selection table. Has to be lots of cohesion developing. Want us to be ruthless, kick scores with plenty of accuracy and play the 4 quarters. Pressure to be applied, and we need to stick the tackles. Oliver and Tracc to play with endeavour from the start and not just after half-time. It is a bad habit to be picking and choosing when to go. Viney must be game fit now. Expecting him to perform, get the ball in and under, then deliver with effective and efficient passes and handballs. Hoping his main impact will be with goal assist. ANB and Sparg's to lift, and the players to make lace outs to BBB. Want to see fast ball movement, clean hands and smart play. Win the clearances and the contested, so as to get our attacking system running smoothly. Go Dees.
  9. Don't agree, he is often following up after he brings the ball to the ground. I think he is pretty clean as wel,l below the knees, and is often looking for a player to handball or kick to.
  10. How many in the forward 50? I thought most were in the central area. I want him in the MFC team, just he is at the back end of the forward pecking order now.
  11. Develop him as a forward, in Casey, so he becomes a very flexible backup. Can see him as our super med sub.
  12. Advocating for Weid to be tried in the backline. Swap J.Smith and Weids at Casey level. Joel is working well as a back, time to give him some development up the field. Weids is playing when away from the goals,. His problems seem to be getting the ball in the attacking 50. Can get his hands to the ball, but not clunk them when in the contest. Perfect for a key position backman, if he can punch it. He is also a reasonable field kick. Need to make something of his skill. Could be the best thing for him and us. We have many back up tall forwards if injuries hit, including, M.Brown and Majak. Less in the backline, and I wonder if J.Smith is more of a forward or tall winger, we should find out.
  13. He wasn’t exhausted, he was bunging it in on for the camera and, I thought, displaying his subconscious attitude to effort. He had a good game, and is a match winner for us. Just believe he still has plenty of growth.
  14. Is it, why comment then? Again, how would it be if all expressed discomfort with an exercise? What is it like for team mates close to him who may also be struggling? I suggest he has some mental weaknesses and immaturity. I am happy to discuss, but one liners like yours are just going to annoy those who are like you in opinion and would prefer a thread like this being forgotten because of its triviality. You will upset my fan base!
  15. You beauty, back on. That is the bread and butter stuff. Lead and keep the lead. Only a few spectacular plays. Mainly based on pressure with a 4 quarter effort and forcing Port to play on our terms. We got the ball. They only got off the leash a couple of times and when they got a run on we were able to eventually respond. Oh, we can hurt teams, bruised, battered and put back in their box. Are the Port now broken? Still some things to work on; Handballs were picked off and sometimes given to a player under pressure. Set shots and snaps can be better. I thought some of our peripheral vision and finding the man was great. The forward line was looking better. That game of Oliver and Tracc. Plenty of cameos; Kossie and his finishing, plus his tackling and effort. Petty doing intercepts when Lever and May had their hands full. Hunty playing smarter, with some dash and being able to hit up the lead. A few got going as the game developed, including, Gawn, Gus, Viney, Jordon, Spargo, Hibbs and Rivers. BBB (he will be better for the run) and Tmac (playing angry) seem to play well together, only saw one time they got in each other's way. Langdon's game will take the next step when he can get those snaps, and shots on the run right. Viney is still not finding space, but he is getting in and under, and applying pressure well, also needs more laser in his passes. May kept their muscle forward quiet, beating him at his own bustle them out, game. The clearances started to work for us. We proved ourselves again, well played Dees.
  16. What a great backline effort again. Petty again and again. May out muscling Dixon. Playing for each other. Oliver doing plenty, including getting back to support the defenders. Is wines playing? Jackson doing well, hard to match up on. Langdon again, good desire. Tracc finding the ball and space. Need more when we handball it, as we a missing the hit ups. Some great hands and clean footy from some. Generally, good effort by everyone, though a couple can still lift, Brayshaw, Spargo, ANB, Harmes, Gawn, Viney, Fritta. Looks like we want it, and are in a good position to take it. A few more unanswered goals and we take the crowd out of the game, till Ports second wind. Important quarter. Go Dees.
  17. @nacnud Can see their posts, Olisik and Dr.D. Just some devils advocate types, jaded by the years on the our roller-coaster, made up of if's, maybe's and never can. Nothing too unpalatable to see, other than some obvious, though antagonistic views. Good to get a diversity of opinion.
  18. I think they have been coming out with too much endeavour. That desperation causes fumbles, errors and taking their eyes of the ball, and they lose where they and others are, as they get ahead of themselves. The problems snowball and missing a few early, easy shoots leaves us deflated. Which we don't get over until the second half. Would prefer steely, cool head, in the moment, actions.
  19. Last week he wasn't. Perhaps he needs to get some early involvement, so he plays better. Be interesting to see if he is in the middle for the first bounce.
  20. Need to start with early goals, can't be inaccurate and must convert from our chances. Oh, the forward line. If it isn't working then the mids have to do the damage on the scoreboard. Get and maintain efficiency for the 4 quarters. Hunt that ball down. Fire em up coaches and give Port a unique look at some of our various game plans. Hoping we do that fast ball movement, run in swarms (pressure, support, get ball) and play mainly that maniac game. Intersperse it with some controlled tempo when we need to. Got a big wake up call last week. Now for a response. Tackling, kicking passes and goals, must have been emphasised at training. Though a five day turn around and they haven't had alot of time to dwell. Bring some selfless acts, protect each other and play smart. Usually easier for us when we are not outright favourites. Something happens when we have to fight for it. Show the league our credentials, hammer them Dees.
  21. That's the way mate, keep attacking. You're have no understanding of the other. Who is olisik or Dr D? Must be only addressing your inner circle. Mate, I have a right to express myself on this open forum, without the constant attacks. But well done, your circle must be getting chuffed about your inputs. So much wisdom, to impart! Can't wait for the next snipe. nuffie A term used to describe people that are mentally retarded (or just plain stupid). Derived from the term nuff nuff.
  22. I get that the majority think the noise of tracc when planking is irrelevant. I think it indicates his mental weaknesses, immaturity and disrespect to team mates and the trainers. Please don't call me nuts, or a nuffie or suggest I am not part of the "we" in this forum. They are personal attacks. If you can't see that then you have become desensitised to how you treat others..Those names are borderline nasty, I will ask those throwing them out, to not do it. Even if with some humorous intention. @BAMF
  23. Thanks Ethan, a very sensible addition to a thread. So, you think me talking about the mental strength of Tracc is nuts. Thanks. You must be some kind of a keyboard warrior. Stop attacking me. Shows your disregard for anothers opinion. I have some right to make my points, I have made quite a few, and that's what you come up with. Wow.
  24. What is your point? Can't remember anyone complaining, just got on with it. Early 1980's, getting into peak physical shape wasn't that difficult. It is all in the mind.
