  1. Good year from Casey. Those close losses at the end of the H&A, hurt them. Tough to go back to back. Gee, they missed Dunstan.
  2. There is also a good chance they don't know the names, nor the cohesion/connection with the add ons.
  3. They show the Dee's players on the telly. Where are the AFL Dogs? Beveridge had them playing for themselves!
  4. Verrall is not a backman, misses a hit up. Then in the ruck on the Dogs arc, taps it to a Dogs player. Put him forward, and play Farris-White as ruck. I guess they see him as the first pick ruck, given how much time he has played there, with Bell or Farris-White available.
  5. Three early goals in the 3rd to Dogs. Makes it a climb of Everest for us. Dees 34 Dogs 87
  6. We really need them to turn their game around. Jefferson especially, as our spear head, given all our usual forwards are out. C'mon Casey Take control
  7. Some tv shots of the Dees AFL team. Their training session has finished.
  8. Getting some forward 50 marks. Dees 34 28 mins in Dogs 57
  9. Dogs were keeping us in it, since they couldn't convert. They get one, then another and another. Dees 16 18 mins in Dogs 57
  10. Stuck in the Dogs forward line for the first 10 minutes. We can't get it going off our backline.
  11. 2 fifties and a non-call for in the back, led Dogs to goals. We're still in it.
  12. Good finals footy, playing with plenty of niggle off the ball and tackles. Dees going well, Dogs cannot get any flow going. Harmes and Munro in everything, Deakin and AMW playing well. Using our handball to break lines. Dees 9 20 mins in to quarter Dogs 14 Dogs getting the soft umpire calls already.
  13. You picked it, Blister (as they say "I'll show myself out"). Include the timing for the AFL game, and the VFL H&A fixture, this comp is compromised. Go Dees.
  14. Does anyone know, what has happened to Baldi? Anything about Burgoyne?
  15. Given that the Pies trained on the "G" today, I expect us to get a run on it tomorrow (Saturday) and not Gosch's.
  16. I think I was at a training last season when she was running around within the team. If she is the same one I watched, I noticed she was a very good kick, and she is a reasonable size. Both good attributes for us, as a key position player.
  17. Speculation of training program. From the FB page with some photos of being them at Casey for a run today, I would guess that they train again, Saturday morning, Monday morning and the Captain's run Wednesday, at Gosch's for the advertised open training. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/teams/training-times AFL Training Sessions Open Training Wednesday 6 September 9:00am - 10:30am Includes retail, membership, food trucks, face-painting, sponsor giveaways. Perhaps at Gosch's Saturday (start 9.00 or 9.30 am), before they head to Boxhill to support the Casey team, (they may do it at Casey though). Monday could be their main training, I expect it to be a closed session, out at Casey.
  18. I wrote this about Fritta before it was said, he had a moon boot on. He looked good against the Swans, had beautiful leading patterns, and was sharp with ball. Not too worried, just hope he pulls up well after the Colly AFL game now. Be interesting to see who they play.
  19. Just watched the Footy Classified Show, and they ended with, "enjoy the week off", as if there was no AFL being played. They must know that the AFL women starts this week. I also did not hear any commentary about the games. If Wilson was on, I'm sure she would have at least mentioned the opening week. Women's elite sports have such a difficult task to get real support. If Collingwood was unfurling the flag on Friday night, would the Collingwood show (footy classified) and the mouth piece Eddy, have made a song and dance about it? I don't get the lack of media support. There is a product there with AFLW, yes?
  20. There is also no seating on the wing. All of them go, MCC and AFL. Bay 15 was the closest we got to the wing, with those gone leaving bay 13, (some are more equal than others). Quite often that bay goes to the other team, leaving the wingers in 12 or 11.
  21. There has been a rule, that if AFL team in finals, then if player has had at least one game in VFL, they may be eligible for VFL team. Can only find old rules from 2011 and 2016. They have different final structures. VFL qualifications is a rabbit's Warren of words, rules and sub-clauses.
  22. This one? Though unclear as the bye and beginning of the VFL finals series has changed since 2016 https://websites.mygameday.app/assoc_page.cgi?c=1-118-0-0-0&sID=277333
  23. What a great time to be a Dees fan. Loved our second half of our H&A season. Got the pundits on side. Who have dropped the Pies, after their love child went down (J Daicos). We play, Thursday week, so the wait isn't too bad. We are at the "G", for some redemption from last year. We have a tough team, who will not roll over, in it up to the "eyeballs", as they say. Get Possessed (MFC finals branding theme), Go Dees.
  24. Not so great for the Casey team, but could help AFL players having a run. If a Sunday game then a 4 day turn around would be difficult. At least now they get the 5 day break, and perhaps with some calculated minutes, our fringe players may get a look at playing in the Possessed game (MFC final branding term). TMac, JJ, Schache, Spargo, Grundy, Tomlinson (BBB, Woey, AMW), possible inclusions. Could they put Fritta or Hibbo in for half a game. Though Fritta looked matched ready against Sydney.
