  1. They were beaten by the better team. There’s no other way to say that. Wasn’t expecting to win, but was expecting a better show. Sad they couldn’t emulate the mens
  2. Luckily we made the finals in 2018 or it would have been the first decade since the 70’s where we failed to play in September
  3. I meant the 2011’s but if I write that everyone would think I meant 2011, the year 😁
  4. The 2000 and teens were the first decade with no wooden spoons since the 1940’s
  5. Damn, I wanted them to go goalless for three quarters. How bad would it be to be a Port supporter right now? I hope they win the wooden spoon this year. Only team without one so far. Love how they celebrated like it was a premiership when they finally kicked a goal.
  6. So over weekday games. I have to get up early for my swim and this really stuffs me up ☹️
  7. Not one of our best wins. Essendon we’re pretty bad and we failed to capitalise on it. Very poor kicking. On the plus side, Brayshaw and Oliver were great. Gawn had a much better game and marked well. Bowey is getting better and better. It was good that they were able to come back when the game was slipping away. I think they need to improve on kicking for next week. Essendon fans are worse than West Coast with their booing every time any other team than them touched the ball. Apart from that, I’m happy. We won. 😁
  8. No, I wasn’t at the game. All I kept hearing her say was “play on.” It’s like she didn’t know what she was doing. Kozzie didn’t hold his mark, but neither did Ablett. Shaun Smith already dislodged it as mark of the century the next year anyway
  9. Wow we were pushed. Don’t think we were bad, but Gold Coast were really good tonight. Hope this is just early season jitters. Petracca was phenomenal. Jackson, also really good. Gawn had a shocker though, couldn’t mark to save himself. Spargo was solid as was Bowey. Was is just me or did that umpire just loved saying “play on” every times a player took a mark?
  10. Also being told by the club “not to worry about the seat number, as you can sit anywhere”. Then being told by someone that we’re in their seats
  11. Well, that was an experience, seeing the flag unfurled for the first time since 1965. Was great to see Barassi come out for it. It was a great game. Very similar to the grand final. It as hard watching Bulldogs dominate the 2nd quarter. Although we didn’t get much back, the fact that we’d stemmed their effort was encouraging. It was great to see Max’s great goal pull us further in front. Having said that, I’m never doing a Wednesday game again. Didn’t get back until almost 12. Feeling exhausted now at work. Might have to go home early. All the nieces/nephews are having the day off school.
  12. Been DYING to wear my premiership gurnsey to a game. Really don’t want to get rained on though
  13. I feel for you. My uncle (dad’s brother) passed away after the 2021 grand final. He was terminally ill and we all knew it’d be his last grand final. Unlike you we were lucky in that be actually saw it
  14. I think he was quite old and said it in seriousness. I don’t really consider someone in their 40’s or 50’s that old anymore 😉
  15. I remember there was a demonlander on here stating that he’d accepted he’d never see another flag in his lifetime. Can’t remember who he was. Really hope he’s still alive
  16. I love watching it when Bont kicks that goal. His celebration isn’t a “I just kicked a good goal.” It’s so overdone it’s a “I just won the premiership for us.” Never get too excited until the siren goes. The funniest thing was Trelor kicked the next goal and his lack of celebration afterwards. Bont must have felt so stupid after the game, what his that premature celebration captured all over the screen.
  17. The fact is it’s rubbish. If he’s got something against the club then he can pass the baton to someone else. I thought the weg one was just perfect
  18. Ah just realised. I am trying to post about our first premiership-winning captain (Wardill.) Because of his name, they’re automatically assume I’m swearing 🤦 The fact is he wasn’t known as “Richard” Wardill
  19. I just realised that since we won our first premiership, we have always had at least one living-premiership captain. Wardill died in 1929, two years after Albert Chadwick won the 1926 premiership. Chadwick died in 1984, while surviving premiership captains, Beckwith, Barassi and Mcmahen are alive to see Gawn win the 2021 premiership
