Makes me feel old as I was similar age to some of the team in 2000 but am biologically old enough to be any 2021 players mother. 21 years was sure a long drink in between. My dad grew up supporting with the 1964 team and now we’ve lost a fair few 😢

Myself am from German decent, my surname was anglicised in the 18th century. Ich bin ein Demon

I’d say likely. The woman in the recent photo was clearly not that age in 1987

After Bont’s goal I was already thinking about the next days headlines and what they were going to say. I was dreading the barrage of comments we were going to cop on social media. To have it turn around like that was just astounding. Like the famous song “from misery to happiness.” The fact that some Bulldogs fans already were taunting us saying that we’d have to wait another 57 years shows some real short memories. The fact that our drought never made it to us of great relief to me. I just finished watching it for the upteenth time and already want to watch it again. I’m still not tired of watching it. It was the best day of my life

What he said 😏

Literally me and my dad ❤️

Another useless fact: when Brayshaw kicked the goal that regained us the lead, it put us as 64 points. That was our final score in our last premiership (albeit reached by different goals and points.) 64 also bring the year we had last won
-
Doubt it. Not saying back to back is impossible but we only lost 4 games this year. Most of those teams weren’t as dominant as we were. Having said that it’s REALLY important we have a good season next year. No doubt we’re going to attract a lot of new members and we want them to get value for their money

It looked sad the bulldogs colours being on it in the first place. They had their turn
-
I’m guessing it was mentioned before but did anyone one else notice that when Chris Grant let go of the cup, the bulldogs colours fell to the bottom of the handle? I’m no superstitious person but that seemed like a bit of foreshadowing
-
Reminded me a lot of the 1984 grand final. Though in our one it didn’t look like we were going to come back. Dons always looked like coming back in the 4th

Sorry I meant to type Sunday. Was very dreary-eyed

Yeah. It now the team he abandoned them for has finally come through. Does he feel sad he can’t enjoy their new glory? Does the premierships he saw Richmond win feel like false pride?

Great rewatching value. I like how they used Jack Viney for the interview in the season’s highlights review. I had great memories of his dad presenting the hotter than hell 1998 season review

Would love to take my nephews and nieces on the Friday but as they missed so much school, they can’t have a day off. Saturday it is. Hope to see you all there
-
Loving the rewatching. The umpires seem unusually loud. Maybe I have the wrong sound set up for the DVD. Can’t believe after Bont’s goal, they only kicked one more. He was celebrating like he already had the premiership won 😂

My brother came over. Without prompting, he showed me proof. He has the tattoo right on his butt. any imagine how much that hurt. Out of respect I won’t post it here 😏

The deez days sounds like another troll. Doesn’t sound sincere. Think he was just trying to get some sympathy or someone to apologise to him. Does anyone know him personally? I wonder how he feels now? That thread needs a serious bump

My fiancé at one stage was insistent that I “had to change” and that any kids we were ever to have would be going for Essendon. Wouldn’t even accept a compromise in that they could chose their own. Now I’m not saying that’s the reason we broke up, but it was part of his controlling behaviour that led to our breakup . Still, what a tool. Changing teams just because you’ve been banned here. Petty

I remember after Collingwood dumped him he expressed interest in returning. But to be fair he did burn the bridges behind him. I think he transferred his angry to Pies as they dumped him because they didn’t want him. Ours was we couldn’t afford him

Neeld had no choice. One name comes to mind is Derryn Hinch. I’d like to think of “supporters” who left the club for other clubs because they were tired of losing are embarrassed now (a guy I went to school with comes to mind.) I do remember a troll post about after we had a bad year some guy on Facebook came in and declared that after that game he was no longer a supporter of demons after 40+ years and now was a paid up member of Essendon. I doubt it was real though. How can you change a team to another and already be passionate enough about them to sign as a member after a game?
