He was never as good as Flower. The fact that Flower only won one best and fairest (1977.) Especially when you see some questionable players who won it over him

Biggest joke was when Healy won a best and fairest instead of him

To me Robbie Flower was the man who had red and blue running through his veins. Unlike many of our great players, Robbie had been a demon fan all his life. This was the only club he loved and the only one he ever wanted to play with. After his retirement, he pretty much kept out of public spotlight, until the merger talk started. I was just so proud he was one of the rare demon sons that was vocal in his opposition of it. I wouldn’t have expected any less from him. Me and my older brother used to have Greg Well’s number (11). But in 1981, we switched to 2, Robbie Flower’s number. We made sure our younger brother was always number 2. Especially as he got our old hand-me-downs. My dad lived through Barassi and all the great years and he still says Robbie Flower was the best Demon he ever saw. I was lucky to get his autograph several times. I was devastated when he died.
  5. Collingwood not st Kilda

Being a shopaholic, I love going into stores to look around. I love jbhifi immensely. Going to the sport dvds was always embarrassing. You’d see all the premiership dvds and there was
. nothing. All teams would have their dvds. Not there really was nothing they could release for us. All we got were memorable matches (from seasons that ended in defeat.) Not even our 1987 and 1989 night grand finals. I don’t blame anyone, there was nothing to release. But now we will have our own little section among them, premiers DVD, victory pack, season highlights, etc. Just nice to be there. Same with the AFL shop. You’d get to the DVD section and know there was nothing there for us.
  7. For years I used the think that about Footscray. 2 grand finals. One win, one loss that’s that. 96 years and never finished first. Their only premiership was in 1954, before cups were introduced and no tv, so limited footage available. Now they have 4 grand finals and two wins. Still sad effort for a team that’s been here since 1925.
  8. They had a great coach, but they seem to get rid of good coaches in favour of former players. Stupid really
  9. Just came across this video. I do feel for him, but I will admit that watching it makes me feel even better. All the things he’s saying were the same stuff I was saying for years. Seeing a team win a premiership is like seeing your best friend kiss the guy you like. You give the thumbs up, but deep down you’re thinking “why not me?”
  10. “At least I’ve seen my team win a premiership” ”When was the last time Melbourne won a premiership” Now they have no comeback when we beat them
  11. The problem is that also means they didn’t have to play there in 2005, after finishing second last in 2004. So in an era where they finished second last and won a premiership, they still never had to make the trip. Them playing well or bad doesn’t seem to have any effect of them not playing there. Kardinia park is a graveyard for us, yet in all seriousness, I can’t remember a season we haven’t played there. Even after 2011 we had to play a game there. Perhaps someone could tell me when was the last time we didn’t play there. It seems completely unfair
  12. https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/380365/by-the-numbers-pies-and-cats 1999. The last time they had to play down there. Really? Why do they get this preferential treatment from the AFL? They’re the only team that doesn’t have to wear an alternative strip (changing the position of logos is not alternate.) I can’t remember the last time we didn’t play Geelong in Geelong. So even during their post premiership years they didn’t have to give Geelong a home game. Totally unfair
  13. I always thought he had what Buckley had with Malthouse. A ready made team waiting for him. A lot of the team are still there from their 2007 effort. With that team any coach could win a premiership. I actually wanted Thompson as a coach until, well, you know

  14. No apologies needed. I never lost faith in any of my boys. Love them all
  15. I hope in addition to the season highlights there’s also a documentary. The tigers and bulldogs ones were just great
  16. What annoys me is reading through it again is they claim that we got away with several throws. While I agree there were some of our passes that looked questionable, they were guilty of many as well, but they chose to conveniently ignore those. They only complain about the umpiring when it benefits us and say nothing when the same happens to them. Teat for tat, I say
  17. Only an [censored] would say that in the first place anyway đŸ€Ł
  18. He must be the only player left from 1948 from either side
  19. We can’t just sign up the old players. I don’t want to end up like Geelong
  20. I remember this. Makes me feel old
  21. Pay him what he wants. He have resigned enough older players. We need him and Pickett

If I was, who would I show it to? Lovers? That’s fine. Siblings or parents? No way in hell. What’s the point? Besides it’s hurts like hell there
  23. Racist and filthy club. “Superfan” Joffa and Straughnie just lame attempts of promoting themselves. If Joffa supported any other team the media wouldn’t pay any attention to him. I hope he gets convicted
  24. The experience I had with with dad and uncle was enough in itself. After the first quarter the smile on my uncles face and my dad saying things like “last time we were in front in quarter time in a grand final, we won.” Second quarter my dad leaving for half time show, my uncle saying “we had them, we were so close
” Third quarter from my uncle declaring it over and my dad being on misery to the turnabout. Dad saying, he’d be very happy going in with a one goal lead, to the burst. They both erupted. It’s never seen them like that in a long time. Fourth quarter, both men shedding tears. Neither are much for hugging men (I’m the only one who still gets hugs, my brothers don’t) they actually hugged each other. It was extraordinary. Being able to experience that moment with them is something I’ll never forget. Knowing my uncle doesn’t have much time left, it’s a family memory we'll always treasure.

I hope we have heard the last of Kennett. Love how he thinks he has the right to tell us we have to relocate. Then the audacity to suggest he be out new president.
