My 3 word player analysis V Collingwood
I think Kossie kicked four in one of the finals last year!!

CHANGES: Rd 22 vs Carlton
We had 29 shots at goal - should lead to an over 100 point score. Lack of tackles in forward line is a big problem -leads to ball getting down the other end quickly!!

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Yep and the one he got in the 2nd came after Collingwood did fend off got caught in goalsquare, should have been holding the ball. instead ball up and Elliot got free - goal!

CHANGES: Rd 22 vs Carlton
In Harmes or JVR Out Melksham We kick straight and win, don’t throw out all the toys yet. Tackling in forward half needs to be more consistent week to week.

Biased commentators
Brayshaw said we when Pies kicked a goal at one point!

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
We had our chances to be well in front, so only ourselves to blame. Pies played hard, with belief, some luck but 65 forward entries to 41 should be a five goal win

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Should have been six in front at half time Hard for Demons to get a free second half Pies probably got 6 or 7 goals from frees the last to Johnson unbelievably soft

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Demons just need to take a few of our opportunities and we will be okay!

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
I’ve read a number of reviews and they all have said, Collingwood have all these strengths across the ground, blah blah blah, then every person whose written the article goes onto tip the Demons! It seems people trying to find reasons to tip the Pies, but don’t believe it! We don’t have a great record against the Pies but last years QB match Demons were as flat as pancakes, and this year Max injured, Turner went off and Petty was injured, we stopped to a walk and yet with 5 mins to go we’re only 8 points down, they kicked 3 in last 5 mins to make it 26 points. Looking forward to something good from the Demons and a solid win!

How Geelong Stays Competitive
Unfortunately the Cats are a well run club and coached team. Aside from lifestyle they do have a significant salary cap benefit at the top end: - Cameron instead of a million a year from GWS join us for $800k a year, crack at a flag and you can sell your $4M Sydney house and get something better for $2M overlooking the water! Multiple the above calculation by 5 players and Geelong have an extra $1M in their cap per annum! Allows them to have another two good players on their list! Also applies for salaries related to soft cap!

Farewell Luke Jackson
Correct. Still what happens if Demons go Freo can’t come up with a satisfactory trade. Then we deal with WC for their pick 2 plus a second ruck!
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
True.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Tom Papley picked Carlton, last I looked he is still in Sydney at the Swans!

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
I changed my tip to Demons after podcast having a few doubts immediately after Dogs loss!

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
You can just hear King on Monday, Demons defensive intensity was back, but they did it against Brisbane then dropped off, what will they do the next three weeks. Listen to Binman on the Demonland podcast and you will know!! Well, we’re back baby, as in back to back, and with some luck with injuries and we’re a big show to win the next six in a row!

CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
BBB for Weid Harmes for Chandler BBB for Weid is the obvious change, but hard to make any other changes as the team did a great job, every player, playing their role, Weid excluded and maybe even he did what he was asked! Its a great sign that we have Bowey, Smith, Chandler waiting in the wings, even Harmes being medi-sub, gives us some coverage, other than 2nd tall forward role and Melksham has exceeded my expectations of him, in play a negating role in that position the last few weeks.

All hail to the new guru called Binman and his disciples, Vipercrunch coming to mind! Following the Demons for 50 plus years, aside from calling out at the footy, go Dees, umpire, the next would be RUN, as for so many years lots of our players were very reluctant to put in the extra yards! Our current Demons really run, tackle go hard, and it has been noticeable over last eight weeks when it drops off, it stands out and is explained by Binman and his loading disciples. Fantastic to see the Demons running, tackling, going hard for four quarters last night. Aside from loading we saw with finals coming near, the little extra effort or ruthlessness as mentioned by Gus on display last night! Lots great points already made in this post game thread, but a number of things I really liked: - Rivers back in business, but more zip and confidence back in his game - Hunt was good and I like his speed - Trac back in beast mode - Salem looking more like Salem - Fritsch, Kossie, Spargo all good smart forwards games - Melksham level of effort - Brayshaw gave different look in the middle and the backline didn’t miss a beat Tough night for all talls!

The pow wow
Yes, King just tries to grab headlines, very one point sensitive and never gets called on it. Would love to see him on Demonland podcast, he would get obliterated! As mentioned at some point in last 24 hours on one of the Demonland threads - Ross Lyon bags May game against Freo and no idea he played half a quarter and went off! Demonlanders on the podcast much better listening and pretty close too the money for mine!

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
Anyone doubting the value of Gus should just go and re watch the grand final. There are players who are very good H&A players and there are players who step up in the finals and GF - the game that matters most! Absolutely delighted he has signed for six, he wants to be part of a dynasty team! Is there some risk in our long term deals - yes, but we are taking a balanced approach to risk and reward. Long-term deals for Max, Viney, Salem, Clarrie, Trac & Gus likely means they are all taking unders, multiply 6 players *$ 150-200k leaves an extra $900k - $1.2M to keep other players. That core group of players will keep us in the mix for a flag for the next 5 years.
