  1. Jack was scoring as many goals as Hogan and Garlett while being 3rd fiddle. Not many players put up those numbers doing his job, the ones that do are great players. So 2016 Jack Watts had a great season. You can disagree and that's fine, but i don't understand what your expectations on Jack are if 40 goals as a 3rd forward isn't a great season.
  2. His role in the team wasn't to be a superstar. I don't see many 2nd or 3rd forwards scoring more than Jack did that year and the ones that do are top players. The bar has been lowered, but that's because we got told to expected the next big thing in football, not a good player.
  3. His numbers have always been decent. Last year he was great and this season he played 16, 3 or 4 of them still injured and on top of that had to do some ruck work. Yet he still put out good numbers.
  4. He will go to the swans and bag 40-50 goals as a 3-4th forward and will be sitting here with Hogan and T.Mac as our talls.
  5. His last two seasons have been more than good enough. Jack responded to his critics a long time ago, fans not letting go the fact he isn't the messiah they hoped for are the only ones saying he hasn't.
  6. This is because we are moving on our once great hope. The media are like sharks and smelt blood in the water 2 months ago and kept pushing the story. Watts doesn't want to leave and is probably being forced out to make room for others, but at the same time Goodwin hasn't seem to have closed the door fully on Watts which is why it's kicking up.
  7. I'm solely relying on an internet forum to excite me about melbourne related news.
  8. Any new rumours? i need something to excite me for the next 24hrs
  9. Do we watch the same player? He can get tagged, yes, but he found his way around it towards the end. His 1st qtr in the GF he was the most damaging mid and forward.
  10. Sloane is as good as Martin, Dangerfield, Kelly etc.. Throw the money at him, also Trengoves no.9 just became available.
  11. We ain't that bad, we had a [censored] ton of injuries to deal with all year. A lot of the players returned to the team 'not ready' and we lost a lot of our pressure. We also played most of the season without our best FF and Ruckman. I don't understand trading Watts when our forward line is [censored] poor. If Hogan isn't playing we are relying on T.Mac as our only tall.
  12. Our top 25 is good enough, maybe a few additions can make it even better sure. Jack is in and around our best 22. Jack Watts as your 22nd best player is a sign of a good squad imo.
  13. I disagree, i think his 2016 and 15 were good. This year it was dissapointing how it started, but i think he got back into the swing of things before his injury. EDIT: I should add, no player plays perfect for 22 games. 2016 Jack was a big part of our forward line.
  14. From my prespective Jack's performances are still good enough for our best 22. Judging his year after a couple bad weeks coming back from injury is stupid.
  15. Jack's performances at his new club and how much we will lack a tidy player in a Jack Watt mold?
  16. I back anyone who represents the club to do the best they can at all times. I don't agree with the Watts trade, but i'll still back Goodwin. However i think it's going to be something many Melbourne fans will have against Goodwin if it's the wrong call.
  17. I think the most important thing to take from Richmond and the Doggies success is that 1 trade won't make us a premiership team from where we are now. It's about having the right game plan and a belief in that plan. We looked the real deal when we beat Suns, Pies, Doggies and Eagles. Injuries can be blamed, but it took us 12 rounds to look good enough to win the flag when we needed to be switched on from round 1 till the end. I don't think Jake is worth 900k a year* sum, but once he wears our colours i'll back him to the end.
  18. I can't believe so many people have a problem with Jack Watts. I don't see him as a problem, but i don't see him as a 22 game a season player. However Jack loves the club and can be a match winner.
  19. Lever was quality in the first qtr and had a respectable game once the Tigers got well on top. I think the crows problem was one too many tall defenders, i don't think Lever was/is too blame for not handling the pressure of 5 small frowards jumping on him.
  20. That's kinda silly when you consider his position. Rance has been good for years, but Richmond have been bad for years. If we looked at a midfielder or small forward similar to Petracca you would want someone who can change games.
  21. I'd imagine his Essendon boys are on that list, i don't know if it's concerning or encouraging that he deems 6 players untradeable.
  22. I think Jake was quite good today, best of the crows and helped to keep the scoreline from getting real ugly.
