Agree, although Salem wouldn't be far off notwithstanding missing a few games
  2. TMac is averaging almost 5 possessions less a game and hasn't had half the impact Tracca has at various times. Couldn't disagree with this more.
  3. Not sure why people are so impatient to see him on the park. He's not exactly a polished player. If he's the answer to our forward line woes then we have far more serious issues. I'd rather get games into, you know, our actual true forwards like Weed, Tmac and to a lesser exent Tim Smith (who I think has been contributing well when he's out there). Pruess is a backup ruckman, not a KPF.
  4. One of the guys that came in and helped shape the beginnings of a winning culture. Not saying we are there yet on that front, but guys like Lewy are the ones we will look back on and credit with the foundations of what is hopefully a few successful years again. I really hope he sticks around the club in some capacity. His leadership and experience doesn't need to go out the door just because he stops playing.
  5. As someone who lost mates during deployments, no, i don't have to get used to it. Neither does Saty. Jog on sad little man, you have no idea what you're on about.
  6. Anyone who makes war-like metaphors for a game of footy should be sentenced to 4 years of national service with 1RAR. Maybe then they'd understand the difference.

Footy commentary sinks to new lows almost weekly. For commentators to dig the boot into a young man like this and on the other hand pretend to be concerned with players mental health is baffling. Go **** yourself BT you absolute moron.
  8. When did we become a big club? I must have missed the memo
  9. In the context of your sentence, that's exactly how it reads. You can argue semantics all you like, your metaphor is poor at best if this was not your intention. I will call out the likening of a game of football to the horrors of war every time I see it because it is a ridiculous modern day sentiment among football commentary I am sick of hearing. Give it a rest.
  10. Not sure any AFL coaches are leaders of men into battle, given none of them hold positions of leadership in the military.
  11. I loved weeds game, he is going to be a huge part of our club for years to come. Disregard the depressing masses here who can't see the forest for the trees. It's misguided to focus on that last kick so much - it was a team effort to let the crows back in and get us to that point. As I said earlier, weeds has had an enormous burden bestowed upon him with Jesse leaving and that kind of pressure for a 21 year old with bugger all games under his belt is incredible. A kind of pressure that few here could even relate to. Yes, its a disappointing effort that last kick, but these are the sort of experiences that make a young key forward in the long run. He will be better for the experience and since the season has been over for weeks already, why don't we stop focusing on results that don't matter and start focusing on the improvements and positives in what has become a year for further development.
  12. I thought we were excellent last night, shame about that last quarter though. The season is over, so getting upset over results doesn’t take precedence over acknowledging how much better we played for mine. We looked like the team of 2018 last night, and although a win would have been fitting, the vast improvement in our structures and connection were brilliant to witness. With our key ins coming back in, there’s no reason we won’t have a very strong second half of the season based on last nights performance. Hope the club gets behind weed, I thought he played well and it’s really obvious the pressure is getting to him. Stay strong young man, you have a very bright future at the MFC.
  13. Anyone know what happened to Hore

This is top shelf stuff haha
  15. I'd argue we were painfully close to being "on" vs WCE, the last piece of the puzzle is converting goals and we're back on track

    Yet here you are.
  17. If you watched the entire game, and know our team, the game was over as soon he took that mark. FWIW I thought we played really well all day, goal kicking accuracy killed us is all.
  18. Who cares, game was over at this point. Why waste the energy and risk any suspensions. what would you reaction have been if someone flew the flag and we ended up yet another player down next week? All the fake macho tough-guy behavior without the ensuing fight is the most pathetic aspect of the game these days. Back in the day when they actually belted each other, the intimidation factor was a tangible part of the game. These days when they push each other when a bloke is already on his [censored], knowing that the bloke can't get up and belt them in return, makes for some pretty cowardly and pathetic displays of "aggression" which I find mostly embarrassing for the sport these days. Stop pretending its still the physical game it once was, it isn't. Stop thinking that "flying the flag" these days actually means anything, cause it really doesn't.

Few people saying when Jones steps down Gawn will be new co captain. When did it become assumed that captaincy is to be shared these days? What have I missed? Picking a second captain as some sort of injury or leadership insurance policy speaks volumes in itself. Be nice to just have 1 good captain instead of 2 average ones. Viney will have to do for now. I honestly think he’s going to have a very short career and the captaincy will take care of itself in due course, at which point immediately it’s gotta be Gawn, or short-mid term Lever. Tmac is a possibility for mine too, albeit his dreadful lack of form right now. I feel Viney was a good fit for captaincy in recent years past, but the game and team and grown beyond that of which his captaincy compliments. We can’t have our captain constantly missing the side of a barn by foot while struggling to get 15 games a year in due to chronic injuries. Plus as others have said is media performance is normally very cringeworthy. Blokes like Gawn lever and tmac are the complete opposite on that front.
  20. Possibly due to a lack of pressure, enabling teams to steady and kick more truly when shooting. Additionally allowing oppo to freely move the ball closer to goal, making set shots easier. Coincidence it is not.

Who cares. I don't come here for cattery chit chat, off with this threads head.

I get your point and don't argue with any of it, however I asked for examples from 2019. Not the last 5 years.
  23. Smokey replied to Chelly's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
The Joel Smith fiasco is obviously a poor one and the optics are shocking. But who are the other examples that you are referring to (where you can positively confirm that a player was hurt during play, pulled off the ground and assessed, put back on the park and made the injury worse) in 2019? Maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention. Or maybe a few here are speculating a little too much.

Is that your medical opinion, picket?

Like that he is positive, but for some reason it annoys me how he refuses to simply acknowledge our mitigating circumstances at times though
