  1. A perfect example of Langdon's 'terrible' kicking skills... ?
  2. That goal is on Lever. He had a paddock there, don't know how he was going to shepherd it all the way to the boundary, at least without looking really suss. Stupid play.
  3. Spargo has had a pretty tough trot on here, and I guess sometimes it's been earned, but geez he's been great these last few weeks. It's a role we really need and if he keeps going like this, he will add immense value. The kid has got footy smarts and tries his guts out, even if what he does doesn't always work.
  4. I know North ain't much chop this year, but a win over them is ALWAYS sweet. Particularly because we haven't seen many of them over the years. Trac (!!!), Gus and Clarry were great. Spargo was really good, more of that please! Jackson, again, really good. Weid missed a few, but his hands were good, and he lead into great spaces. Plus, the delivery was pretty good. Amazing what can happen when you kick TO somebody!? We generally moved the ball around better, and had we had our goalkicking boots on, we should have won by 100. Would love to smash the pies next week. I hope this team turns up, and continues to build on the momentum/development.
  5. Spargo has been pretty great. I know he's had his detractors, and I think he's had moments/games where he hasn't been sighted (not a height joke), but really, we could do with a guy like Spargo killing it every week.
  6. Loving the Weid tonight. Great hands, gets into good spaces, and look at that - some delivery! He should be converting those chances, but I'm not too upset about that, everything else is falling into place. Been a good string of games.
  7. We're not very good, aye ☹️
  8. Umpiring has been terrible, but we haven't been great either. The crows have been a lot more direct with their F50 entries, and as usual we are just bombing it in. Mind you, this is against a team who is, as of right now, winless in 2020. I'm torn. I would have loved us to come out firing, and belt these guys, but that wouldn't mean anything, because it would prove us to be only able to win against the easybeats. But as it stands, we've been pretty bog ordinary tonight so far.
  9. Hot garbage. Even if the boys were tired. And that's a big IF, because it's clear that the guys couldn't be arsed tonight, I just want to toy with the hypothetical. Why the dumb football? And the complete lack of heart? And the lack of any semblance of a gameplan? (does fatigue affect the coach?).
  10. True, but even if they gave us the free, and we had the ball, what would we do with it? Probably plant it straight onto Westhoff's chest 30m out. Goal. Nah, not keen on that.
  11. Haha remember a few years back when Port were a joke, the Lions were getting smashed, and the Saints were just plain bad? ...and we were on the up and up. Ah, memories.
  12. Fraudulent is a good word for this. Our club. Our coach. Our supposed culture.
  13. To hell and back.... to back to back seasons of HELL! To the Dees: I won't charge for giving you the title for next year's doco. This one's gratis
  14. It's the connection! We've learned a little bit more about where we are as a footy club. We're not happy, we have to get better.
  15. Hey guys, we might be bad now (like, really, really bad), but just you wait until we get our connection going! Then ooooh boy it's gonna be raining goals 24/7. ...
  16. Ugh, we've had so many games stolen from us over the years, this would have been a nice steal for us. ... But instead, some fantastic work by Trac was wasted by garbage delivery from Hannan, and stupidity from Fritter - and unfortunately that's the sort of stuff that separates teams. In this case, funnily enough by less than a goal. Not a terrible game at all, but lacking overall execution and polish. Weid misses 3, Harley and Kozzie each with bad misses. Langdon should really get those. If even one of them converts, it's a different story, probably. Ah well, next time aye.
  17. Totally agree, smashed in the clearances. Lions have been really good tbf. We're still in this!
  18. We're lucky to still be in this, I hope we make the most of that good luck in the second half! Our backline has been pretty great. But were smashed everywhere else, and the few times we got the ball, our i50 delivery not good, esp in that second quarter. Umpiring some of the worst I've seen.
  19. Absolutely! It was a real all-rounder sort of performance. He is so young, but is already thinking, looking around the ground etc. Also pumped to see how he'll develop. He's only just started and already doing some sweet things.
  20. Another 4 qtr game!? What's happened? It's almost like we've worked out that it's easier to play for the whole game! You almost don't need a gameplan haha (almost). Trac and Maxxy were magnificent. A+++ Jackson, awesome stuff - so much potential. The extra height around the ground is precious. Weid did exactly what we want from him. More, please! It's crazy how our forwards can kick goals when the ball is actually delivered to them!? Better, so much better. Always a heartwarming feeling to pump the Hawks. The lions will be a real test of where we're at. Would be great to continue this upward trend. Go Dees, finally something to be pleased with amidst all the other mess.
  21. For sure, I thought we were gone. And we should have been, really, as the Blues had their chances. Like every other MFC supporter, I will now spend the next week in the baseless hope that last week was an aberration and that the real Demons will stand up next week...
  22. I got used to no footy during lockdown. I kind of missed it, but it wasn't like I was chomping at the bit to see us back because the game against the Eagles was a painful reminder that we learnt nothing in the off-season and Goody clearly doesn't know what he's doing. And here we are. Footy is back. My team just won and I'm sadder than I have been in the last 3 months because it's painfully obvious that we are a very, very average team. I guess what I'm saying is that during lockdown my team was terrible but at least I couldn't see them be terrible and I could pretend they aren't, or at least it didn't matter (i.e. there are bigger things than footy etc.) Sigh, tough times. I need a drink.
  23. 1 point winners over the Blues! Look at us, giant killers... It doesn't get any better than that! .... It's going to be a very long, short season.
