Completely agree with all of this. Especially given Gawn's absence, probably best win for a long while. It still burns that the Lions got that W, they're nowhere near the side we are. We play again in R18, so we'll have the chance to set the record straight!!

HUGE WIN Busted through a bogey team. By 50! I love that we never let up. The swans kept coming back as we knew they would, but we kept them at bay and then stomped them. Oliver awesome, Grundy around the ground was great. Hunter and Langdon yes! Great effort from our range of forwards. JVR!! Now there’s a player. Big entrance, big future. Same as McVee. It’s so annoying that we lost to the lions, I appreciate the conditions favoured them and we were disrupted by Max and May, but we are so much better than them, can’t wait to play them again.

Great first touch by JVR. Swans have been characteristically intense in the first few matches. We just need to keep the pressure up, lock the ball in our 50 and take chances. Like that 👍

Yeah this resonated with me, too. This stuff can unite. We have the talent, we just need the belief that these moments however bad do not define our year. I’m also looking forward to Sunday. A little worried as Sydney is a bogey team for us, especially in Melbourne haha, but it would be a seriously firm statement.

I agree, one bad game, especially at the start of the season should not induce panic. I’m just disappointed that we had a golden opportunity with most of our squad in to deliver some payback to the very team who booted us from the finals. I was expecting fire in the belly and making them accountable, but we just looked sloppy and disorganised with little leadership other than maybe Lever. We’ve now given those guys 2 wins. Sydney is going to be an even tougher prospect. Will we bring that fire in the belly, irrespective of what the news is with Max? (Because one guy no matter how important does not and should not make or break the team)?? I hope so otherwise Sydney are going to pants us, again. I’m hopeful though, we certainly have the talent to match them even without Max, and Kozzie. Would be good to get May back though if fit. And hopefully Petty is ok.

I hope the flattering score line does not detract from the thorough review we need to carry out. Too sloppy, lacking intensity and creativity. Just really poor. Next week is a really tough assignment, I hope we bring the character we should have shown after HT. We’re a better side than the lions and we got done. The Swans are a better unit. We will need to lift big time.
