The opening 5 minutes of this game are going to be very interesting. Did Scott keep a surprise tactical move or two up his sleeve for an inevitable finals clash? Did we save one as well? Did we show them too much in R23? It shouldn't matter. Our best is better than their best. And the geriatrics are surely running out of legs. We win if we apply pressure from the first bounce, give them nothing, take our chances etc. But nonetheless, those first few minutes will be riveting. If we kick a few, I'll feel better and feel less like hurling.

On a slightly different note, at this time in pretty much every other year this century (i.e. aside from 2000 and 2018, ugh) we'd still be dissecting the year and once the rage has subsided, planning/dreaming for the next year. This is quite refreshing, and definitely a different feeling to 2018. We're entering this game as favourites (which makes me sick), but at least it's off the back of a really solid, even year where we finally broke through a number of mental barriers, statistics etc. There has been a real momentum and belief that we haven't seen for a very long time. Beating Geelong 3 times in a year? Do we dare dream? We do - go Dees!

While we won some good games in 2018, we also lost a fair bit. We were shakier. Sure, we lost a few this year we shouldn't have but we always refocused and sturdied ourselves. A lot of that comes down to a MUCH better list, but also better coaches and help for Goody, and the big one - belief. There has been a shift in culture that has been decades overdue. 2018 means nothing. Win or lose (I think we will win, but if we beat the cats 3 times in a year I know not allowed to ask Santa for anything this year, other than maybe the GF?) we will continue to write this new chapter of this amazing club.

Can the geriatric cats even play out 4 qtrs at this late stage of the year? Even without Tom 'the martyr' Greene out, GWS could still do the biz against them. While that is a little worrying given our loss to GWS earlier this year, we're not the same team. We're bigger, badder, uglier (think Dogga's tooth, grrr). Relentless. TL;DR - don't care who we play, it'll just be a stat on our way to the GF.
