  1. Melbourne v North Melbourne History at Docklands Stadium There has been 8 matches played between Melbourne and North Melbourne at Docklands Stadium. The first match between these two clubs at Docklands was on July 1, 2000 (when it was known as "Colonial Stadium"). The next game at Docklands between the Dees & Roos was in 2007 when the stadium was known as "Telstra Dome". From 2009 - 2014 (which was the last year the two clubs met at Docklands), there was a match each year between Melbourne and North at Docklands when it was known as "Etihad Stadium". (Source: https://finalsiren.com/PreviousGames.asp?Team1ID=6&Team2ID=13&Go=Go) The startling statistic is that North beat Melbourne in all of these 8 matches. If Melbourne beat North on Saturday (at "Marvel Stadium" as the ground is currently known), it will be the first time ever that the Dees will have beaten the Roos at Docklands. Who wouldn't want to be there to witness that? I'm there! GO DEES!
  2. I think Chandler has been treated unfairly by the MRO I found some footage of tackles similar to Chandler's as a visual comparison August 2021: Hawkins tackles Joyce (concussed). MRO decision: NO PENALTY August 2021: Cordy tackles Koschitzke (played on) MRO decision: $2000 PENALTY May 2022: Chandler tackles Foley (concussed) MRO decision: 2 WEEK SUSPENSION Footage below: https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/chandler-hits-foley/video/c180b325d3e3589d2116f5f72310ac56 As I said, I think Chandler has been treated unfairly by the MRO. MFC should appeal.
  3. So proud of the Melbourne Football Club! 9 wins no losses. 2 years in a row. Top of the ladder. A game clear of anyone. Best percentage. Biggest winning margin against WCE. Happy days. Long may they linger.
  4. Love his work. Was at the Betty Cuthbert Bar (as I often am) last year and saw him and thought I'd walk up and extend my arm and say onya Harmesy! Without hesitation he looked me straight in the eyes, extended his arm and shook my hand saying "thanks". Loved it. Top bloke!
  5. This will be an enduring image for me of today's victory. ONYA Tom MacDonald. Persistence pays off! BORAT never had a chance...
  6. Thanks LH, this is GREAT to watch! Goody is an awesome person putting the salary needs of his players above his own. To hear him say at the end that "we've only just started" gave me chills! Go DEES!
  7. Where did you see GP's announcement 3183? I love to read/see it! Anyway, Great news that Goody's re-signed. Great coach, great bloke, great teacher - not just of players and staff but of fans also...
  8. Noble, the new Neeld? mmm...lets see... It's a bit like trying to compare: inches with centimetres. pounds with dollars miles with kilometres Fb with E Turnbull with Morrison Fitzroy with Brisbane The big difference between the two is one of them hasn't been sacked...not yet... Until that happens, he's close but..until then, no cigar. If it does, will it be the catalyst that launches North to Tassie?
  9. Likewise, another conspicuous absentee was the guy who played 41 games between 1996 & 1997 wearing No. 23...
  10. Can't wait for tomorrow...oops - today! (Sunday 5 December)! I can't sleep. So excited to be able to share the joy of our drought breaking Grand Final premiership win with all of you at the G. WELL DONE to all who have helped to make this happen. You know who you are. You are all legends. See you, and HEAR you today! GO DEES!
  11. Thanks for sharing this great article. Loved reading it and remembering those superb victories!
  12. Really great news! All the best to Max, Jess and George!
  13. I was there at VFL Park at that game too. Ingloriously unforgettable! 190 was before 186 and pips it as our worst ever loss. I went there with my Dad and my brother and was heartbroken! Demolishing Geelong in the PF and beating them with Max's kick after the siren in round 23 have absolved the pain of 186. I look forward to a similar resolution one day against Brisbane to absolve 190.
  14. Beyond brilliant. Essential viewing. Loved it. Thanks heaps for putting this together.
  15. Good luck Nev Jetta - I wish you all the best for the future.
  16. Thanks heaps for posting this DA. I really enjoyed watching the players doing their lap of honour and their interactions with the crowd. Just GREAT!
  17. Where do you buy the navy blue "Give 'em Hell" t-shirts with a red demon head?
  18. Those were the last 3 of his brilliant 7 goals that day! They were in the 4th quarter Dees v Crows at an empty MCG: 01:27 Fritsch 00:46 Fritsch 00:00 Fritsch That's 3 goals in 87 seconds. Amazing! The last two were set shots which ate up the clock. The 3 goals in 32 seconds in the GF remains the fastest ever, so far...
  19. Yes! Wearing the colours to bed counts. I woke up in bed (thankfully) with both my Melbourne jumper on and my Melbourne scarf across the doona.
  20. Nice one DD. Those 3 goals in the 3rd quarter against the Cats in the PF were devastatingly quick too. I went back and checked the timing: 17:04 Fritsch 16:47 Gawn 16:30 McDonald That's 3 goals in 34 seconds. Amazing! (But still 2 seconds slower than the Dees 3 goals in 32 seconds in the GF). Incredible. Could be the quickest and the 2nd quickest 3 goals ever respectively!
  21. Yep. That goal is ingrained forever in my memory. The Hawks had the momentum then Melksham got the ball, turned onto left boot and dobbed a monster sausage roll from outside 50. I have never heard a Melbourne crowd cheer louder. There was 90,000 + at that game - most were Demon supporters. Great memory - will always be remembered! Good luck to you Jake!
