  1. ...couldn't help myself...(🤣)
  2. Free beer, wine, soft drinks - after you've bought a ticket to "The Lounge" is my understanding. Prices vary depending on the game. Melb v Rich costs $300 - details in the link below: https://melbourneexperiences.com.au/Catalog/AssetRegister?assetRegisterId=92b5785f-85ba-40f7-8ef3-956c43629512
  3. That's not how you spell Pandas!
  4. I did a bit of research into the MFC membership numbers inspired by reading this thread and a request from @JimmyGadson Jimmy asked for details on the last 10 years, but it is the last 5 years that has seen remarkable development in MFC membership numbers. Below is what I discovered: By the end of 2022, Melbourne Football Club were the 8th largest AFL club by membership (66,484): In the past 5 years Melbourne coped better than most clubs either side of and during CoVid. Most clubs suffered massive membership losses in 2020 (grey bars in the graph below). Melbourne suffered the 3rd biggest downturn in membership in 2020, but this was more than offset by the 3rd largest increase in membership during these 5 years: During 2021 and 2022, Melbourne's bounced back and increased it's membership by more than any other club - no doubt spurred on by winning the premiership in 2021. That's right - Melbourne were the fastest growing club in terms of membership during this period with 25,913 new members signing up during this period. Collingwood and Carlton were the next fastest growing clubs during this 2 year period with figures of 23,522 and 21,741 respectively: If Melbourne continues to grow it's membership at this rate, the 70K membership mark will soon be passed and the Dees will push towards a 6 figure membership to challenge Richmond, Collingwood, West Coast who have already achieved that milestone. In conclusion, Melbourne has been the fastest growing club in the AFL during 2021 and 2022. Another premiership by the Dees will no doubt further increase Melbourne Membership and place the Demons in a position to surpass even the biggest of the AFL clubs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope this has been informative. 5. A Mitch Hannan goal to win it after the 4th quarter siren would be nice...
  6. Maybe...see what happens after 1/2 time.
  7. Hannan has a point to prove...I wish him well. I liked him at the Dees. His goal in the 2018 Elimination final against Geelong to ice the game and the deafening roar of the Melbourne Crowd in that game and the following week against the Hawks is a memory I will treasure. Best of luck to Mitch.
  8. I did! Changed my tip just before the start of the game - as the game progresses, looking like it's a good move - thanks layzie, wouldn't have done it without your prompting...
  9. 2018 Round 9, MCG: Melbourne 25.9.159 defeated Carlton 7.8.50 Melbourne won by 109 points! I was there with my daughter - it was FANTASTIC!
  10. Famous victory. Sydney vanquished. Go the Mighty MFC. Was so much fun to see us win at the MCG. Made new friends today. Go Dees!
  11. Just wait...we'll come back
  12. GO THE MIGHTY DEES!
  13. Precedent is there, Grand Final replay. Glad you agree Allus Monk. Precedent is well and truly set. 60 years after Melbourne and Collingwood last met in a Grand Final...to meet in an opening round, prime time, when both teams are in good form. Ratings BONANZA. 100,000+ at the game - FOR SURE. Not to mention sponsorship deals... How could the AFL marketing team miss this opportunity? COME ON AFL. Action this in 2024.
  14. Melbourne v Collingwood. Opening Round, Friday Night. Recipe for biggest AFL opening crowd ever. Expect 100,000+ Do it in 2024. COME ON AFL!!!!!!
  15. Bring it.
  16. It seems I have greater faith than you in the Dees. I base this on knowing that we learnt much over the past few years. For instance: how to beat Geelong when it mattered after countless painful losses: round 23, 2021 to take the minor premiership. Smashed them in the Prelim 2021 also. Won the Premiership in 2021. Apply the same to all comers this year including Pies and with ordinary luck/injuries and we'll have every chance to take anybody anytime. Bring on Kings Birthday. I can't wait to see the Dees take the Pies on.
  17. About time...
  18. Have you checked the Dan O'Connell in Carlton?
  19. Yep. Was there at the Western Oval in the last round of 1987. Saw us beat the Dogs and get into the finals for the first time into my life. As I remember it, we needed Hawthorn to beat Geelong at Kardinia Park to get into the finals and the unforgettable roar came over the ground when someone heard on the radio and shared that Dunstall had kicked the winning goal. Was also there at the Western Oval in 1976 final round when we needed to beat the Dogs to get into the finals for the first time in my life. On that occasion I think there was a draw in another game which meant we missed out on the finals. I was devastated. I'll be there at the G tomorrow and am looking forward to tomorrow's game against the Dogs. Go MELBOURNE!
  20. I did. In 1992 on a road trip from Chicago to Los Angeles, I made a point of turning left at Albuquerque, curious to discover where the wisdom of Bugs Bunny would lead me. The road led me to a town called "Truth or Consequences" where I went to the movies in an old cinema and and stayed overnight sleeping in a rental Teepee. True story.
  21. I arrived at the ground just after the first quarter/period finished...so missed his shanks. A good player is able to respond and learn from mistakes. We seem to agree that Bowie is that.
  22. Bowie back to his best with pinpoint field kicking accuracy today.
  23. Yes. I'm watching the replay on Kayo now.
