Gaming - we are out!
Sorry you are asking the wrong person that question. Iām a football person - I barrack for the MFC that play the game of AFL football in the sports entertainment business. I support the AFL and Iām happy to discuss football matters and learn from anybody at any club. Go Dees

Gaming - we are out!
With all due respect to past administrators much of their time was consumed dealing with political or religious agenda pushers. Which often led to polarisation that spilled over into football matters. This club had been dogged with those problems for decades plus the āhatersā who are always going to hate. The MFC is now politics and religion free - all are welcome male or female, young or old etc

Gaming - we are out!
Donāt think the terminology you used is correct ie pipe dreams & wishy washy IMHO the club has a clear strong message. We are a football club not a religious or political organisation. We are prepared to make positive innovative changes to attract a whole new generation of supporters. the AFL assisted us with the rebirth of our club - the AFL goals and MFC goals are aligned. Some of us will be forever grateful for the assistance and key personnel the AFL provided. This will upset some but it was recognised long, long ago some who want to hold onto the ways of the past and resist change. Such is life. Go Dees

Gaming - we are out!
Omg who would have thought these are our strategic goals grow the fan base, increased game attendances strategy to reposition our club 'for the next generation of fans' (Barlett's words). Sounds like the āold boysā club is gone, gone, gone Go Dees

You need to teach your grand-daughter that to answer that question you probably need around 40-50 hrs of form analysis, then take that form analysis and have the ability to frame your own markets - a strong back ground in mathematics, probability and computer literacy . Helps. Now she is up against professionals ie Bookmakers with deep pockets - itās not easy money itās a tough, tough grind. However, if she wants to take the ālazy optionā she is probably better to stick with tattslotto like her grand-parents generation probably did. But remind her the odds of winning lotto.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Traditionally AFL football clubs have not been good in the business of making money.
-
THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
This does raise the obvious question - How do you replace the gambling revenues coming into the game? Think there is another thread on the site discussing that very question - so maybe a question you donāt have to answer here. If, you canāt anwer that question you have to deal with the situation as it is. Personally, I donāt mind either way - Iām happy to deal with the situation as it is until a better ulternative is put forward. Go Dees

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Think many people these days are working hard to ensure we do have the money to fix our own issues. Ultimately, football is just a game in the business of sports entertainment. As much as that may upset people you canāt change what is out of your control.

You are spot on - in his mind the random number pulled out his rear end is pure negative speculation. Fortuntely, MFC has a loyal resilient supporter base - we prove it Year in Year out. But we have also had āthe veilā to deal with - such is life. These days the club is a very positive environment with very positive people controlling the Levers. Long may it continue. Go Dees

Thatās a very good question- I suspect you are not going to like the answer - No- let me explain. With memberships you are in the business of selling hope. Most MFC understand the process - we are grinding out solid sustainable improvement year after year. We talk alot about the Tigers - they are brilliant at selling hope then upgrading your financial commitment- you would be staggered what I pay for my Tigers membership - but thatās for business reasons. Would you buy or sell a share based on a company having one bad day - the trend is you friend. One bad day on the football field is exactly the same - makes no difference- the trend is your friend. Its only the irrational numpities that make desicions based on one game - Essendon and every other team in the league are living proof you sell memberships on hope. You just have to ignore the ānegativityā coming from the MFCSS inflicted. They are complaining experts , they will complain about the fixture, complain about the AFL, complain about the MFC - Roos addressed it but they are so stupid they did not understand what Roos was talking about. We have a very bright future in a very tough environment. Go Dees

Nah you were all just being a bunch of negative old sooks Did you bother to look at their 2105 numbers? You are comparing us to a bunch of drug cheats - LMAO Essendon ? 2015 61,000 2016 57,500 2018 67,800 - Essendon make the finals Melbourne 2015 36,000 2016 39,150 2018 42,250 - Demons dont make finals So what is your point? You are wrong again - Again MFC supporters show their resilience. I wonder what happened at the DRUG cheats in 2016? Please stop insulting some MFC supporters there may have been other reasons the drug cheats got such a big growth and it has SFA to do with making finals.

Success is a great accumulator in life. Some can reach it as a matter of mind set - some will never reach it even sadly if their life depended upon it. Success can be defined by walking off the battle-field with two arms and two legs haven given your all ( self defined ) and be prepared to go again. Elite performance is not about how intelligent your are itās about how determined you are and the sum of the people around you.

There was certain people claiming the last round would cost us thousands of members - it clear they are wrong again - MFC supporters display their resilience again. Not long now and we get rid of the negative old boys once and for all. Go Dees

Posters need to be more aware of Demonlands code of conduct 4. Player abuse is the most difficult area to moderate. Whilst we do not want to stifle player comment and criticism player abuse is NOT acceptable. Comments should be constructive and not destructive. Comments such as "player X is useless" or "player X is crap" are NOT acceptable. As of today the AFL players have put all publishers on notice both on and offline. The vitriolic language you use towards players past or present could get you in deep trouble.

Once we reach a membership of 65k plus and an average of 40 k plus on crowds we should have the financial resources to compete and win a premiership. Until then fixable issues like injury management & prevention wonāt go away. We have done very well in recent years to increase recources in our recruting departments & player development elements so that should see us stabilise somewhat baring a run of horrific injuries. I should mention the AFL is doing a very good job to make the clubs more ābusiness likeā in and diversified in their thinking. Some clubs have grasped the concept some have not. We now understand the Draft is not an equalisation tool - more a method to extent the reach of the season. Financial success is the tool to equalisation in 2018 - you have to understand the āClarkson clusterā dominates AFL onfield sucess in this era. The last 5 premierships ie 3 x hawks, 1 x bulldogs and tigers have come from this way of thinking.

Is that you Kevin? We have told you before MR Bartlett itās people like you that have held our club back for years. Even if we make a grand-final Iām sure you will find something to complain about. Sorry, Kevin we are building a positive innovative community that works with the AFL - sorry if that does not suit your agenda of constant whining & complaining. Bye-bye Kevin your days are numbered - enjoy the unemployment queues.

The Jack Watts in 2018 Thread
I should add we are building strong bonds with the AFL and other teams in the competition, working towards strong bonds with key stakeholders in the community at large , re-invigorating our brand to attract the younger generation - but most of all giving the players perspective so they can emulate what the club is trying to do off the field . Our players past and present are everything to us - we treat them with respect and hope one day they can deliver the ultimate goal.

Keep your chin up we will be fine. When the going gets tough the tough get going. We are developing a innovative positive culture but that will take more than just people inside the club to understand that - hence the need for time, but as you say we mainly are a resilient lot of supporters. The good times are a coming - Go Dees
