  1. Not sure if you are being serious- the road to equalisation is all clubs having the money to develop and support all players to reach their maximum potential - for me this has been PJ biggest achievement at the MFC. However, easier said than done in a 18 team competition- even harder to get the point across to one-eyed supporters in one team forum. I support equalisation for ALL clubs.
  2. I’m not big into criticism of players, but I did not hold high hopes after his injury last year. But I was wrong, possible his added maturity helped his cause. Great to see him find a role in a AFL team.
  3. Great news, our player development & welfare has come a long , long way under our current structure- very good to see the young kids backing the system/s
  4. I agree with Peggy expansion clubs are a long term project but essential component of a National competition to secure TV rights deal that benefit all clubs
  5. Without AFL MFC was gawnnnnnnn - shut the doors last to leave the building to switch the lights off forever.
  6. That would be a dream come true & then if the Dees won I would celebrating and if we lost I would commiserate with “free” Tigers hospitality.
  7. Did you determine all this from your armchair?
  8. Tigers where brilliant today - No way you should win after jR goes down before you can even get out the bar. Looks like a repeat of last year just who are they going to play in the Grand final
  9. This is a very suspicious thread just like AFL will never walk away from poker machines. They are just all talk.
  10. No doubt about it - with a multi national company like Disney getting onboard the development opportunities are now very exciting. The Victorian Sports Entertainment Complex managed by the AFL, an entertainment precinct located in the heart of the city. Stroke of genius by the AFL.
  11. Not sure you or many Demonland old timers is the target market AFL and Disney are looking at. Nailed it, Versatility and partnerships where both parties can benefit from the others core competencies. AFL is a well run sports entertainment business - massive amount of possible highly profitable opportunities will start to become deliverable. Most importantly clubs can derive income from entertainment businesses- markets that were never accessible in the past.
  12. I agree going to be a quality interactive experience Victoria needs a theme park to rival Queensland or Hong Kong. This could be stage 1 and if the AFL manage the project - this could be a stroke of genius. Overall this easily could be a multibillion dollar project to put AFL football into the global sphere of big time sports entertainment.
  13. Except I changed my avatar before the announcement was made public - ?
  14. OMG what a surprise this is - I like it. Well done AFL
  15. Worked with Smithy for many, many years love the bloke and thanks to him I know that your players are everything ( both past and present ) their health and welfare both during and after their playing careers is everything. Once you understand this - premierships become oh so much easier, players are human beings, treat them as such - the rewards you will receive you never forget for the rest of your life. Sadly, I had to go to another club to experience it - but it was magnificent. Over 5 years of hard work repaid in 100 minutes of football - the boys were awesome before and after.
  16. You will never get a “perfect fixture” there will always be someone at one club or another who is not happy. The only way to get close is get bums on seats year in year out. Some clubs supporters have proven trusted track record and have earned the rights to the fixture they have. Its just an argument in AFL circles not worth having. AFL over compensates for the small clubs - but their supporters will never see that - such is life.
  17. Each club only has so many tickets allocated - you better get in before those evil corporate customers, they will pay the price in an instant. But wait a second those “evil” corporates pay year in year out irrespective of what teams are in the grand final. You could make more money on your corporates than your whole membership put together- shame on you AFL clubs ?
  18. Yip my prophecy is AFL to continue its amazing business success, sustain growth, sustain money be poured back into football - only real opposition is media beat-ups and hysteria but they will remain exactly that - beat-ups and hysteria.
  19. It was a car ride from the MCG ☀️ Tigers are going alright, I’m sure they will remain positive It’s amazing what happens when you have positive people running your club - thank you AFL
  20. You need to take off your one-eyed blinkers - all the “major” / large crowd clubs would say the AFL look after the small clubs by taking money out of their pockets via the redistribution fund. I 100% agree with our CEO Peter Jackson - you earn your own fixture. Now don’t blame winning or losing - it’s all attitude, mindset of your supporter base and the clubs ability to sell hope.
  21. The AFL corrupt - hahaha if we did not have a fixture over the last 10 some of the smaller drawing club including us would not be here today.
  22. Shame CB did not have the ability to sell himself optimism - but such is life.
