  1. Gees I hope Cal Twomey is off the mark. It'd be utter madness to cough up pick 7 for Houston. I really hope the recruiting team don't mess this up and waste an opportunity to get some young talent in.
  2. I think I'll wait until there are more respected people giving weight to this, as opposed to McClure and Morris. A pair of weasels that love the sound of their own voice and are desperate to feel important, possibly because didn't get enough hugs growing up.
  3. Outclassed is right. Freo played like a premiership contender and we're just a long way off. How on earth did we concede that many goals out the back? Madness.
  4. Must have planted the seed in my mind! Very fitting.
  5. Totally on board with this. The guy is pure silk. Cut from the same shiny cloth as the previous Silk at the Hawks. Agree with poster above's comments as well in regards to comparisons to Pendles. He just finds space and always does something good with the ball. And when he needs to, turns on the speed and glides (dare I say a bit like silk).
  6. Just nice to see us bouncing back a bit in recent times. Really exciting to see some of young kids doing well too. Whatever happens in regards to finals, I hope we can maintain this and give it a crack in the run home. At the very least can be a confidence booster leading into next season.
  7. Frostball! Edge of your seat stuff.
  8. This is what I came on here to say as well. From Nathan Buckley on the couch: “The other element that you really did expect to see is fire and brimstone, eyes rolling, after your opposition.” Instead we had a season low pressure rating of 164. I hate to say it but not that long ago, we would have come and ripped their heads off in response to a bad game like the one against Freo. Even if we lose against the Pies - show some anger and pressure and hunt. That was one of the most depressing and shocking parts about yesterday.
  9. We are a mediocre team at present and getting shown up by a lot of teams. Something has to change because it's not good enough.
  10. Yeah great point. Makes so much of a difference when there's the wise heads there to guide them.
  11. Yeah that's a good point. I suppose it's more of an overall elevation this season. He's always been good but he seems to be more commanding than ever and I wonder if it's something to do with seeing himself taking on the captaincy after Max.
  12. Yeah great point. Makes so much of a difference when there's the wise heads there to guide them.

  15. Also, the tactics from Goody and co! We're evolving!
  16. Brilliant win. So impressive. Lever has gone to another level this year. Has always been very good clearly, but is just dominant right now. All our young guns too. Can't get over the level of ability of kids like Windsor, but also guys like Woey Junior just looking really solid, and then Howes, McVee, Turner. Can't quite remember a class of youngsters like this where they're been so composed and reliable beyond their years. In times gone by you'd expect a lot less of them because they're so young, but it's quite amazing.
  17. Agreed. I had the same thought with Petty as well. He looks like he just needs a short spell with Casey, just to get some touch back. I dont think it'll take much.
  18. Got the win but gees. We're gonna get smashed by Carlton and Geelong if we don't get out act together. So many mistakes. Relying too much on too few.
  19. Absolutely brilliant win! Best I've seen in a long while!
  20. If you're Kalani then surely you want to follow in your dad's footsteps and play for the same club. I really hope that's how he's thinking about it.
  21. Let's see Harry Petty back in that forward line alongside JVR Fritta and the like, minus the slippery conditions at the SCG, and then we can make a call. Footy pundits have blinkers on and the worst ones and are just 'see and react' because a level head and a bit of context doesn't get clicks.
  22. Let's see the response over the next few weeks. Last night was a shocker but hopefully we can look back at that and see it as an anomaly.
  23. He really is a talent. I think it's gone under the radar a little bit, but I think there'll be more talk about him once the season starts.
  24. Wowee. Much better return yesterday. Can never read too much into a preseason game, but so much to like. Howes did some really good things down back. Great delivery by foot. Love Salem in the midfield. Windsor looks a real talent, very exciting. And it just feels like we finally have enough quality ball users now: Billings, Laurie, Bowey, Salem amongst others. Plenty of personnel to come back too. Good stuff.
  25. Great to see David King writing us off. Positive signs for the season ahead.
