  1. If you're Kalani then surely you want to follow in your dad's footsteps and play for the same club. I really hope that's how he's thinking about it.
  2. Let's see Harry Petty back in that forward line alongside JVR Fritta and the like, minus the slippery conditions at the SCG, and then we can make a call. Footy pundits have blinkers on and the worst ones and are just 'see and react' because a level head and a bit of context doesn't get clicks.
  3. Let's see the response over the next few weeks. Last night was a shocker but hopefully we can look back at that and see it as an anomaly.
  4. He really is a talent. I think it's gone under the radar a little bit, but I think there'll be more talk about him once the season starts.
  5. Wowee. Much better return yesterday. Can never read too much into a preseason game, but so much to like. Howes did some really good things down back. Great delivery by foot. Love Salem in the midfield. Windsor looks a real talent, very exciting. And it just feels like we finally have enough quality ball users now: Billings, Laurie, Bowey, Salem amongst others. Plenty of personnel to come back too. Good stuff.
  6. Great to see David King writing us off. Positive signs for the season ahead.
  7. Great article and well written. With everything that's happened, you can take your pick in terms of motivation for the season ahead. The 'stick it up them' factor has never been so high.
  8. This is so devastating. Poor Gus. A legend that will be sorely missed. I hope Maynard, McGuire and everyone else that was patting themselves on the back about 'justice' being done following the incident being given the all clear have a moment to reflect on this. A player in his prime has been forced to retire because of what happened and that is not right.

Great post and beautifully written. Go the Dees.
  10. Exactly what I was thinking. He is too much of a liability down back. Don't understand this move at all.
  11. It'll be interesting if WCE end up keeping pick 1, getting Reid, and we use 6 on Curtin. You'd think WCE would want to build a list of WA talent. Maybe we could do a straight swap in a few years? Wouldn't that be nice.
  12. I like this move to go smaller and not do a straight swap for JVR. It's something different and changes up our forward line. Plus maybe it'll force us to stop bombing into fwd 50. I really hope I don't regret this comment. I'll keep this open in a tab so I can delete it later.
  13. One of my favs. Thanks for the memories, Hibbo.
  14. Have watched this goal replay many a time. Still sends shivers down my spine. Will always have a soft spot for Hannan, he seemed like a great guy too. Best of luck to him and hopefully the injury is not career ending.
  15. Nice to get the win, but gees Petts is really breaking my heart this year. How many times has he dropped out of the side this year with an injury every time he's looked like he's got going and looked damaging forward or back.
  16. Totally agree. Does not get the recognition he deserves. Always gets praised for his hardness and for being a battler but that totally sells him short. Would be lauded a lot more for all that he brings if not for Trac and Clayton.
  17. Unbelievable. So bloody exciting. Go Dees!!!!!
  18. I was thinking the exact same thing! Still got Woey senior's signature somewhere. My dad, who worked in the media, got it for me back in the day not long after his Brownlow win because he knew he was my favourite player at the time.
  19. So many players to get excited about at the moment. Rooey first game. McVee is such a classy user and moves so well (that little kick - run - receive off halfback yesterday). Chandler building. Fritta dusting off the cobwebs. Then you have guys like Bowey and Rivers who look in great touch. And then Spargs who does not get enough plaudits for what he does. Then all the A graders. We have so much talent at the moment. Bloody exciting.
  20. The other benefit to this is we're potentially not so reliant on Langdon's wing, which teams tried to clamp down on this season. Two wingers that can run all day and cause some damage. That's a big win.
  21. Can someone explain the Bowes deal to me? I know Geelong are doing the Suns a favour by taking on the contract, by why is there such a high pick thrown in?? Bowes isn't a spud so how on earth is it so heavily weighted in the Cats favour? It really does seem like a case of the rich getting richer and massively unfair for the rest of the comp.
  22. Hey Freo, how about you give us what Luke Jackson is worth? How about that? We need to put a clause in player contracts that says you can't ask for a trade to Freo.
  23. I came to terms with Jackson leaving, but it would hurt much more to see Kozzy running around for a different club. I really hope we don't have to have another year of rumours and then a departure. Praying to the football gods that we can get him signed up.
  24. Sydney were super efficient inside 50. Converted some tough shots. And then add in poor turnovers by us in defensive half and 50m penalty goals. Even Milkshakes slipping and Spargo's shot being smothered in what should have been a certain goal. In a close game these things count big time so it's not the end of the world. Sydney in top form. We just gotta be at our best next time.
  25. God what a great game. Huge result. Loved seeing Gus back in the midfield.
