Knocking Geelong AND Hawthorn out in consecutive weeks almost makes the PF flogging worth it.
-
Gee I'd exercise caution betting on a Goodwin coached team vs a Clarkson coached team, regardless of cattle. We should have flogged them early in 2018 on paper but they won by 11 goals. Having said that i might slip a pineapple of Dees 40+ at $12.

I hate these types of articles. The May trade - End of 2018, Weideman had just had a 24 possession, 7 mark, 3 goal game in an elimination final win against the cats. He had arrived. Hogan was injured and Tom McDonald had just had a 53 goal season. It was widely accepted that another key back was the missing piece in our premiership puzzle, so we went out and got one under the belief that our premiership window was open. At the time I was stoked with the decision. Hogan was going anyway, and our time was supposed to be now, so the skinny prodigy King wasn't seen as the best option. The Pick Swap with North - Once we win a few games and get closer to the top of the table, and Pickett starts getting 3 goal 10 tackle games, everyone will say what a brilliant trade it was. AFL media love to sensationalise stories that haven't run their course yet. Look at them ripping into Clarkson at the moment, the greatest coach of the modern era. I will revisit this at years' end but for now we are 1 game out of the 8 with plenty to of season (hopefully) left to go. i think it's a nothing story.

That was outrageous. On his own player and touched the ball as well.
-
That's a shame. I rate McEvoy far higher than Ceglar as a ruckman. Max would have had a day out against Ceglar I suspect.
-
Brilliant. Melkshams left footer against the hawks in the SF 2018 was memorable too, although not in a great passage of play.
-
One of my all time favourite passages of play. Up there with the Hannan goal from the 2018 EF.
-
I also saw Natanui's game and he wasn't even the best ruckman on the ground, let alone of the round. I thought O'Brien took the points in the end. Must have been for his phone gesture at the end. Surely big Max wouldn't mind if he wasn't in Campbell's team of the round though! Goldstein seems to have wound back the clock this season.

Yep that's the kind of mistake I was talking about. That was dumb footy, he was lucky he wasn't pinged for the throw too. Take that out of his game and you might end up with a reliable defender. Will he ever be Matthew Scarlett? No, but I think there's a chance for him to be a decent lock-down defender and i wouldn't mind if he was kept i the side for a few more weeks to see how he goes. i don't think there is anyone demanding his spot just yet.

I didn't mind Smith's game last week. He effected some spoils from out of position that most people just wouldn't have been able to do. He spent time on Hawkins, Ablett and Dangerfield and none of them got hold of him. We don't need all of the back 6 to run and create, that's what Salem, Hibberd, May and even Lever are for. He can blanket talls and smalls with his pace and leap, and as long as he can limit his mistakes I think there's a spot for him.

What they're saying down at Windy Hill (Pregame)
BigFez replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I must admit I have become a bit of an opposition forum lurker from time to time, I find it really interesting to hear what people think of the Dees from the opposition supporter perspective. And to think I used to be young and cool! Surprisingly the bombers fans on the forums are some of the least arrogant and most pragmatic of the bunch. At least in my experience from the last couple of seasons. Last week 98% of Carlton supporters thought they were going to [censored] us, 1% thought they would beat us is a close one and 1% thought they'd lose, which was surprising for a team that hadn't really shown much. Anyway, as has been alluded to, Their Bellchambers is our Oscar McDonald. Getting a pasting over there. I can't remember him being great but I can't remember him being awful either?? -
Hope so, I jumped on him at $251/1.
-
I believe because it is the day prior to the match you can replace him with someone outside the emergencies.
-
A pink 'chewy on your boot' button? Also a 'he's been doing it all day button'.
-
Need an 'out of bounds on the full' button. It was obvious to me that was missing, usually you know if a ball is heading out on the full by the jeering of the crowd.

Cartlon has put together a pretty decent forward line with Casboult, McGovern, McKay, Cunningham, Betts, Martin and young SOS. I think we will need to get use our advantage in the ruck and midfield to win this one. Harmes to Cripps is a must IMO. If they get it forward enough they now have a forward line capable of kicking a wining score.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
BigFez replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
This bloke had 27 touches and kicked 6 goals 3 in a game against Geelong in 2014, he could have been anything. From memory he was also runner up in the GC B&F one year. Yes it was a young side but that is still a heap of young super talented footballers you have to beat for that award. No doubt his talent has been widely discussed in this forum so I won't go on about it. Really hoping he can get through on Saturday, then fingers crossed he can get a bit of continuity in his game and can start to build towards some of that early career form. -
Have I missed something about Lever? Is there some doubt as to his availability?
-
Is it just me being impatient or does anyone else think it is bad form that we haven't heard anything on AVB yet?
-
Gee this annoys me when people go on about this. Yes it was a nice bump, but it was an absolute hospital handpass. I reckon even Cale Morton could have wiped Jack out with that setup. By the time Jack saw him coming it was a step too late. Everyone saying "Viney's not that tough, just ask Sydney Stack" etc etc, but most others would have called for the stretcher. You could tell it really hurt but he just got up. Really hoping for a leveller this season.

Promise I didn't see your comment before I typed mine. Great minds!

A lot to like in that game, I thought we were better as the day went on. A lot to do with fitness but we became less fumbly too. Petracca would have received the 3,2 and 1 votes he was that good. Weid got his hands on plenty but just couldn't stick them, if he had have held onto 3 or 4 of those marks he would have had a good game. Add Gawn to that lineup and we win by a lot more, they had a big advantage in the ruck. T McDonald will be better for the run, the longer the game went, the better he became. O McDonald basically not mentioned on here, which is about the highest praise the poor bloke gets. I wince every time AVB tackles someone, it looks like it really hurts. Can't wait for the real stuff to start.

He was $501 before today's effort.

No doubt the comments will be coming, especially after Pert released our bold plan during the week. The nuffs will be out in force.

McGrath makes good sense for a nickname of Pidge ?. Don't mind me, Bit on the slow side this afternoon.
