Farewell Jesse Hogan
But as others have stated it is about ensuring the trade period is a positive gain overall. This will be a huge deal but with one eye on the end game this deal is not the be all and end all. It plays a large part in ensuring we get what we want to move on the players/picks we want coming in. No point delaying this deal to the end and achieving nothing

Agree with you Wise. Whitfield is the one I would like. Unlikely though

Rumour File
I don’t understand the love for Billings. I have never seen him have a good game

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
Not sure how we could make it happen but in my opinion Lachie Whitfield is exactly what we need. His performance in their losing final was exceptional. Great spread, excellent user of the ball and a heap of courage. We are not that far a away but we need an elite runner to play wing

The Other Preliminary Final
Sidebottom had 41 touches with only 6 contested. That is poor coaching - had to send a tag to him. Make no mistake, after we win tomorrow, The Nut goes to Him next week

The Other Preliminary Final
The footage of the McGuires just made me do a sick up in my mouth. I can not wait to beat these pricks next week. This is a good result for us

Martin Flanagan's Ode to the MFC
I believe that ours is the Greatest Club in the world, this is a great reminder. A perfect ode. I truly love the Melbourne Football Club and have such a sense of pride in being a member.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Preliminary Final
Tough call for match committee. Obviously a difficult call to make but this is a preliminary final and match ups are critical - especially with their multi faceted forward line. I am a big Fritsch fan but as others have mentioned freeing up Hibberd to be the interceptor and using Smith to cover a smaller forward might be the thinking. Smith also provides an option if Kennedy or Darling are getting away from Frost and OMac. Gotta have options in a prelim - especially with two players that could win the game off their own boot. It might be Tyson who goes out yet but the more I think about it the more I like having Smith in.

Where will you be watching The Big Game
I’ll be at the ground listening to the boos as we kick away. Go Demons!

GF Ballot Barcode
Thanks McQueen. I might as well wait until Sunday now and book after we win. I just wonder if Eagles fans can on sell their flights or is that not possible?

GF Ballot Barcode
I live in Perth and am wondering if anyone knows about airline pricing. If we were to win on Saturday and assuming that many west coast fans would then cancel their flights would that mean that flights to Melbourne for the GF plummet in price? i have not bought a flight as yet so am curious.

Who's going to Perth?
I live in Perth so will be there. Had to watch the game last night from my lounge room but was at the game last week. We beat West Coast and I’ll be booking my trip over to the GF. What a ride we are on...pretty emotional about it all. I feel so proud of our boys

How good was Viney...an absolute pest to their stars. You can just tell that he loves getting under the skin of Ablett, Selwood etc. I wasn’t sure how he would go last night but upon reflection a final was his perfect comeback game. He is built for finals - as hard as they come, manic attack on the ball and ball carrier and a real hunger for physicality. I thought he rely set the tone early and showed why he is a Captain of our great club. He oozed leadership and intensity in the opening minutes and really set the tone. I bloody love the bloke!

What they're saying down at Moorabool Street
The cats rely on too few to get it done. That is what excites me about our group. There is something special happening - they bleed for each other

Fair enough Jumbo. I have woken up with a positive spin on the world...must be the delightful feeling of winning a final for the first time in 12 years. We owed Geelong and last night they got their due. Go Demons!

I can’t stand watching the bloke in the coaching box but he is always good to listen to. As you pointed out his first comment was extremely classy. Very professional!
