  1. Get it done - long term deal! i have absolute belief that Goody is our next Premiership coach
  2. This is a excellent article about May’s journey. He seems like a quality human. He is going to be huge for our team and the club as a whole. Steven May is the bloke who minds the huge forward that we haven’t had for so long. If he was at the club this year we wouldn’t have lost in Geelong and probably not against Sydney or Port either. He makes us a hugely better side even taking into account the loss of Hogan. I really believe that we are one of the best three teams in the competition going into next year along with Richmond and WCE. May adds that surety we have lacked. I can’t wait to see our backline when they are all fit. Him, Lever, Hibberd and Jetta working together will be magic to watch. Some serious hard nuts!
  3. Chook in Perth has always proved to be a reliable source. I met the bloke after our win against west coast last year and the bloke loves our club. I wish he was wrong but get the feeling g we are best to lose Jesse for what we can get. Whatever can facilitate the May deal and a little bit extra will do
  4. He did live with Mitch Clark for a while if I remember correctly
  5. Over the moon about this. When he first came back this year I wasn’t impressed but his end to the season was exceptional. A player built for finals!
  6. Something doesn’t seem right here. Surely if this was true the Melbourne based media would be running with this by now. Doesn’t add up. Basil and Bell know each other well from their time working at the same radio station 6PR. Plenty more to play out me thinks
  7. Those traits will be taken into account by possible suitors
  8. Also one more question - does Hogan have go in him? Sometimes I am unsure
  9. Many said they won trade week. My point is you said that you want us to be tough at trade week and many thought that both of those teams were last year. All that matters is we improve our list. Don’t get fixated on the one trade. Mahoney and Taylor have proven themselves very astute operators.
  10. As I said we will have to agree to disagree. For me it is about winning premierships not trade week. Remember who was touted as the big winners of trade week last year - Port and Essendon. How’d that work out?
  11. We will have to disagree. It is about the list being better next year than it was this year. That is the only outcome that matters. Proving you are tough in trade week doesn’t win you premierships.
  12. But as others have stated it is about ensuring the trade period is a positive gain overall. This will be a huge deal but with one eye on the end game this deal is not the be all and end all. It plays a large part in ensuring we get what we want to move on the players/picks we want coming in. No point delaying this deal to the end and achieving nothing
  13. Agree with you Wise. Whitfield is the one I would like. Unlikely though
  14. I don’t understand the love for Billings. I have never seen him have a good game
  15. Not sure how we could make it happen but in my opinion Lachie Whitfield is exactly what we need. His performance in their losing final was exceptional. Great spread, excellent user of the ball and a heap of courage. We are not that far a away but we need an elite runner to play wing
  16. Sidebottom had 41 touches with only 6 contested. That is poor coaching - had to send a tag to him. Make no mistake, after we win tomorrow, The Nut goes to Him next week
  17. The footage of the McGuires just made me do a sick up in my mouth. I can not wait to beat these pricks next week. This is a good result for us
  18. Gee Ling talks some turd. Glad he ain’t our coach
  19. I believe that ours is the Greatest Club in the world, this is a great reminder. A perfect ode. I truly love the Melbourne Football Club and have such a sense of pride in being a member.
  20. Tough call for match committee. Obviously a difficult call to make but this is a preliminary final and match ups are critical - especially with their multi faceted forward line. I am a big Fritsch fan but as others have mentioned freeing up Hibberd to be the interceptor and using Smith to cover a smaller forward might be the thinking. Smith also provides an option if Kennedy or Darling are getting away from Frost and OMac. Gotta have options in a prelim - especially with two players that could win the game off their own boot. It might be Tyson who goes out yet but the more I think about it the more I like having Smith in.
  21. I’ll be at the ground listening to the boos as we kick away. Go Demons!
