This was an open game of Australian rules football today, through the corridor there was next to none mid zone pressure systems being applied whatsoever. We seem to always play shoot outs against the Crows, thought we were always in control of the contest as a whole up until the last 5 minutes. Defensively we weren't at the races today and that is the cornerstone of our recent success. Long way to go, 4 points in the bag, top 4 all but secured. Keep on building for our assault on September.

I know its been mentioned by follow posters but seriously can't believe Petty was allow to play a quarter and a half meekly, half paced when he was clearly struggling. He's got to know better and just drag yourself off if your no good.

It was great to see us win another way, backs to the wall, gun hoe style, smash mouth football, but must admit our mid zone pressure systems were up the shyzen tonight. This was not a typical Melbourne performance tonight, the iron fisted, defensive beasts, this was a mid western gun fight! The second and third qtrs must be address as to why we allow Bris to just dictate terms with their ball movement and failure to close off the corridor. Lions picked through us like a scab at a swap meet, tougher in the clinchers, playing in front especially from clearances. A lot to improve on but encouraging signs that we proved to the footy world we can win by playing attacking style football.

They were out on there feet in the last qtr the lion cubs, pressure dropped right off. Would loved to have seen the pressure meter in the 2nd,3rd and 4th qtr drop off. We absolutely ran them off their feet in the last, huge win without Clarry and Fritta HUGE!
