Lovani lining up at Doomben in race 2. Bit of a nibble for it this morning. Likes to race on the pace too which is an advantage at Doomben today. Fine morning here in Brisbane although a few clouds building in the south. Might cop a shower or two later this morning but shouldn’t have any bearing on track conditions. The Gold Coast may cop a bit of rain though.

To me, he has “I will stuff up again” written all over him. And he is a massive bath water consumer.

It’s the second time in a week that The Bostonian has been scratched. Had a shocking gate last week too. When the rail is out at Doomben it makes it even more difficult for those drawn wide. Still, keep an eye out for it. Dane Thunder similarly drew wide but usually not an issue at Sandown. That mail came from somebody very closely connected to the horse too. Yeah, Dafeenah comes via a very reliable source. Was $9 in this mornings (Brisbane) paper. Tongue tie on may be a key.

I fly to Shanghai in a couple of hours. Not going for the game but I will be interested to see the levels of local interest. I am staying not too far from the stadium but have no plans to go to the game. I was in China for last years game and although not in Shanghai, saw nothing on TV or anywhere else advertising the match then. I look forward to checking out the write-ups in the local media both before and after the game.

I live in East Brisbane about 400 metres from the Gabba. It was very windy here yesterday although fine and sunny. Looks pretty much the same today although a tad cooler. Wind at this stage not as strong as yesterday. The Gabba surface should be just about perfect for the game. The Victorian based fans will be easy to spot. They will be the ones in short sleeved shirts with sunscreen on their faces. Us acclimatised and transplanted wannabe banana benders will be wearing jackets! Brrrrrr!

One needs to get his ego in check and play 100 minutes of football. Brayshaw is doing everything right.

He has the best hands I have seen for many, many years. I guess we as MFC supporters take him for granted a little now. If we step back and look at his achievements, we will see he is tracking better than Martin, Dangerfield and Fyfe did at the same age. We are so fortunate to have such a phenomenal talent in our team. The scary thing for opposing teams is that he is still learning his craft. I feel blessed to be watching this young champions career unfold.

To win relatively easily with still a lot of room for improvement should be very pleasing for us Dees fans. Some however always have to have their weekly spank regardless. It’s great to be one-eyed but going blind is a completely different prospect. I’d say get a grip but some of you already have.

Surely the best 22 are the guys selected for the upcoming game? Anything else is a wish list.

He was found in possession of an amount deemed to be excessive for personal use - a traffickable amount. I haven’t looked at the Act but possession of certain drugs are deemed prima facie “traffickable” amounts by weight. He may not be selling drugs per se, but being found in possession of specific amounts automatically brings the trafficking charge.

Good question ignition. I guess for me, I had perhaps pumped myself up more in preparation for this season a lot more than in recent years on the back of 2017. I could not wait for this season to begin. So to see what has transpired to date is truly demoralising. I flew down from Brisbane for the Richmond game and although not really expecting a win, hoped we would play better but the last quarter not only disappointed me, it angered me. A broken little finger attests to that. Having supported the team for more than 50 years, my general mindset has tended towards being content with reasonable performances - win or lose. This year I (foolishly) expected more and now it looks like a lot less. I think a lot of us are in that same boat. It does cause extreme disappointment and disillusionment but hey, we DO support the and blue and those things tend to come with the territory although very bitter tasting this year.
