  1. Pick 4, 5 and Brayshaw? Wow, some posters on here are so delusional. Also, what part of Brayshaws game do people like or do they like him just because he is Angus' brother and was a high draft pick? Cerra looks like double the player.
  2. We have spargo, hannan, melksham and fritsch can go there too.
  3. i like Kent but deserves opportunity at another club. People are kidding themselves if they expect a 2nd rounder from an injury riddled fringe player. We'll probably just do whats in Kents best interests and take a late pick for him.
  4. Lewis' last game just can't be forgiven that easily. Flying to perth for a prelim and he hits a wce player off the ball, reverses the ball and they kick the 1st goal of the game from it and get the fans up and about. Pathetic act by a 'leader'. He then gave away about 3 more goals . I think Lewis has been good for us this season by by gee is he a polarising player. I think he is gone next season, due to leg speed alone.
  5. To be honest, I think Cerra looks a lot better than Andrew brayshaw.
  6. myth? literally as soon as hogan went out we beat 4 top 8 teams in a row. naive to think its coincidence. it also happened last season.
  7. finally a wise post
  8. ok fair enough. I'll put it all on the table. strengths: -1 on 1 marking (although not as good as a few seasons ago) - aerobic capacity allows him to play multiple positions. - goal kicking prowess: potential to kick 60 goals a season. weaknesses - defensive pressure. -on field attitude - goal kicking accuracy - performances against top teams. i weigh all of these up and believe that nothing is more important than attitude. And that trumps all talent, especially when building a winning culture.
  9. I just want people here to discuss dees players strengths AND weaknessds. my pet peeve are fans that think every dees player is gods gift to footy.
  10. great news! I want Cerra and an early pick though. All these people can shove their goal stats up their behinds. Hogan is expendable. And rightly so. You don't chase jesse, then you're out the door like Jack Watts.
  11. because everyone who loves hogan were the same people crying to the club when we shipped him out for pick 31. they have no idea about football. The only reason i'd want to keep hogan is if they turned him into a defender because you can't sook and whinge in the d50
  12. Lol you guys are unbelievable. you're so obsessed with stats. Stats only tell a little bit of the story. Kennedy doesn't stop chasing and harrasing and applies relentless pressure inside 50m. There's no stats for chasing, There's no stats for implied pressure. Giving me tackle and goal numbers of kennedy/hogan etc. Seriously? You were probably the ones comparing watts to riewoldt statistically. Hogan is terrible defensively and is attitude on field is a disgrace. He stages for free kicks and complains to the umpire when the ball is still in play. I know its hard for simpletons to look deeper than his goal tally and high draft position but he needs to dramatically improve his defensive pressure. I was also one of the only posters in this forum at the start of the year that wanted to see more from petracca to prove that he had the polish to go to the next step as an afl player. And after this season now the media are on to him and realising that his disposal is poor and kicking for goal disgraceful. It usually takes people an extra season to look past a players draft position and call it as they see it. And i might add that anyone who thought jack watts was a good player and shouldve stayed should ban themselves from any football forum. Seriously embarassing the amount of people that thought pick 31 waa getting unders for him.
  13. you can show me all the stats in the world. im sure you couldve shown similar stats to prove watts was decent. at the end of the day he offers 0 forward pressure. 0! he is not a great kick for goal and is mentally weak. no surprise he was no loss in finals and he is only best 22 if he fixes his attitude.
  14. this is an embarassing comment. josh kennedy is a coleman medalist that excels in defensive pressure. Hogan is one of the worst in the comp for his pressure. If tom mcdonald couldn't have an impact in yesterdays game, no chance hogan wouldve gone near it.
  15. lol talking about may. haha dude, we aint getting him
  16. hannan is good. spargo will be okay but if he is going to succeed he needs to kick the goals that he missed today. Same as weideman. what ws up with his missed snap today
  17. Best 22 Jetta J.Smith Salem Hibberd Frost Lever Brayshaw Harmes Vanders Hannan T. Mcdonald Fritsch Melksham Hogan Weideman Foll: Gawn, Oliver, Viney int: Spargo, Hunt, petracca, ANB Included: Hunt (confident he'll have a big pre-season). Left out: Oscar McDonald (i prefer joel smith)
  18. Maybe if the FD listened to me 5 years ago we would've made finals without Jack Watts a lot sooner.
  19. People are saying that Jesse wouldn't want to leave. The matter of fact is there are many dees fans who are fed up with his lack of forward pressure and intensity that it may not be up to Jesse.
  20. nice! Will only happen if Hogan goes though and we get picks from frem. Which I'd be happy with. But lets not make this a hogan thread. lol
  21. Dr.D replied to Dr.D's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just joining the dots. He has played plenty of games at casey and from what I understand he wasn't injured for most of the season until the reason setback. I wouldn't want to trade him for a second rounder as someone suggested. We have 2 line breakers in our whole team. 1 is frost, and 1 is hunt. Speed is one thing you can't teach, you either have it or you don't and these guys have it. And there's probably only a dozen of them in the comp. Johanisson, Saad etc.
  22. Dr.D posted a topic in Melbourne Demons
I think this guy deserves his own thread. Last season he was one of our most important players and this season he hasn't been in our best 22. Yes, he has been injured in stages but at the beginning of the season he still wasn't selected when fit. Last season, he was one of the best running half backs in the competition and this season he is depth at best according to Goodwin. Would Hunt seek a trade at the end of this season? With lever coming back in it's not going to get any easier. I'd hate to see him leave but he could finish in the top 3 at a Best and fairest at another club so I wouldn't blame him for it. Where does he need to improve? Are people confident that he will be a long term player for us? Him and Frost are basically the same player except one is key position and hunt is a flanker so maybe having them both in the team would hurt too much with their foot skills?
  23. Let me guess, you were a jack watts fan too? lol. lets not embarrass those that supported him for all those years. If he was pick 50, he would've been delisted 5 years earlier. Same goes for Hogan and Petracca. Call it as we see it.
  24. I hear what you're saying but unfortunately until Petracca performs consistently then it his him and his supporters like you that need to show something. His performance against geelong was pathetic. As for Hogan, we've hit better form without him and this happened last season too when Hogan missed. It's definitely not coincidence. Yes, he is a talented player but his defensive pressure is non-existent and his attitude is culture-sucking. So don't just tell me how many goals he has kicked because that only tells half the picture with Hogan. And I called it as soon as it happened that the loss of Hogan would not affect us in the slightest. I was right.
  25. yes we are in a premiership window but i'd still like to have draft picks as I dont want to be cr@p again for another 12 years. So i'd take any early picks and use them
