myth? literally as soon as hogan went out we beat 4 top 8 teams in a row. naive to think its coincidence. it also happened last season.
-
finally a wise post
-
ok fair enough. I'll put it all on the table. strengths: -1 on 1 marking (although not as good as a few seasons ago) - aerobic capacity allows him to play multiple positions. - goal kicking prowess: potential to kick 60 goals a season. weaknesses - defensive pressure. -on field attitude - goal kicking accuracy - performances against top teams. i weigh all of these up and believe that nothing is more important than attitude. And that trumps all talent, especially when building a winning culture.
-
his debut was one of the worst in modern history. so until he plays well at afl level then i am not too excited
-
I just want people here to discuss dees players strengths AND weaknessds. my pet peeve are fans that think every dees player is gods gift to footy.
-
great news! I want Cerra and an early pick though. All these people can shove their goal stats up their behinds. Hogan is expendable. And rightly so. You don't chase jesse, then you're out the door like Jack Watts.
-
because everyone who loves hogan were the same people crying to the club when we shipped him out for pick 31. they have no idea about football. The only reason i'd want to keep hogan is if they turned him into a defender because you can't sook and whinge in the d50
-
Lol you guys are unbelievable. you're so obsessed with stats. Stats only tell a little bit of the story. Kennedy doesn't stop chasing and harrasing and applies relentless pressure inside 50m. There's no stats for chasing, There's no stats for implied pressure. Giving me tackle and goal numbers of kennedy/hogan etc. Seriously? You were probably the ones comparing watts to riewoldt statistically. Hogan is terrible defensively and is attitude on field is a disgrace. He stages for free kicks and complains to the umpire when the ball is still in play. I know its hard for simpletons to look deeper than his goal tally and high draft position but he needs to dramatically improve his defensive pressure. I was also one of the only posters in this forum at the start of the year that wanted to see more from petracca to prove that he had the polish to go to the next step as an afl player. And after this season now the media are on to him and realising that his disposal is poor and kicking for goal disgraceful. It usually takes people an extra season to look past a players draft position and call it as they see it. And i might add that anyone who thought jack watts was a good player and shouldve stayed should ban themselves from any football forum. Seriously embarassing the amount of people that thought pick 31 waa getting unders for him.
-
you can show me all the stats in the world. im sure you couldve shown similar stats to prove watts was decent. at the end of the day he offers 0 forward pressure. 0! he is not a great kick for goal and is mentally weak. no surprise he was no loss in finals and he is only best 22 if he fixes his attitude.
-
this is an embarassing comment. josh kennedy is a coleman medalist that excels in defensive pressure. Hogan is one of the worst in the comp for his pressure. If tom mcdonald couldn't have an impact in yesterdays game, no chance hogan wouldve gone near it.

hannan is good. spargo will be okay but if he is going to succeed he needs to kick the goals that he missed today. Same as weideman. what ws up with his missed snap today
-
Best 22 Jetta J.Smith Salem Hibberd Frost Lever Brayshaw Harmes Vanders Hannan T. Mcdonald Fritsch Melksham Hogan Weideman Foll: Gawn, Oliver, Viney int: Spargo, Hunt, petracca, ANB Included: Hunt (confident he'll have a big pre-season). Left out: Oscar McDonald (i prefer joel smith)
-
how come everyone was slipping over? bloody embarassing
-
jordan lewis should apologise on 360 for his game. terrible understanding of the occasion and cost us 3-4 direct goals
-
Maybe if the FD listened to me 5 years ago we would've made finals without Jack Watts a lot sooner.
-
certainly better than gaff would be for us. Because Shiel has speed.
-
People are saying that Jesse wouldn't want to leave. The matter of fact is there are many dees fans who are fed up with his lack of forward pressure and intensity that it may not be up to Jesse.

nice! Will only happen if Hogan goes though and we get picks from frem. Which I'd be happy with. But lets not make this a hogan thread. lol -
Rich have been the best team for the last 2 seasons..and what changes this week? nothing. Tigers by 30+
-
lol. how one-eyed can supporters be? Of course he dived.
-
thats a silly argument. whilst the game couldve been closer, we also couldve won by 50 plus if the umps were ok and petracca hit some more targets
-
lol of course he flopped. i don't care though. i wanted the free kick!
-
am surprised to hear people talking petraccas game up. He kicked a nice goal but he butchered about 4-5 very important and easy kicks inside 50 or in the forward half directly to a hawks player. the cost of doing that made him in the bottom 5 players for us in my opinion. Theyre so costly
-
lol who wants an interview from oskar baker anyway? honestly, he is a glorified casey player.
