Sorry for late reply. Come to think of it - no I never have. So why am I surprised that I never got this one. After such a season I thought we should all have received one.

Only been a member for sixty (60) years and I never received this email AT ALL. Sort of sums the year up for me. VERY POOR MFC.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
This is brilliant. Now just imagine Richmond station being moved closer to the city around about gate 1 and opposite the tennis centre along with Hisense and Storms home ground.

James Hird joins Triple M commentary team
Perfect match. I never listen to them anyway. Can never forgive him for what he did to the game.

Post Practice Match Discussion - Melbourne v Collingwood
Day release people must have been busy yesterday and centrelink must have thought it was a three day weekend.

Most Heartwarming Win?
The noise generated by the Melbourne crowd that day you would have thought it was our home game.

Calling All MCC Members
Your comments are spot on. I also have been a MCC/MFC member since 1993 but my MFC membership clicks over to 60 consecutive years this season. Seen the best and the worst and am really excited by our future.

Vote Melbourne's best goal of 2018
Purely at the time of the match, and just what it meant to Nathan, it would have to be his goal at the start of the last quarter of the elimination final against Geelong. In all the decades of following Melbourne I have never heard such a roar from around the ground, and it was the most loudest EVER from the members where I sit. Years ago I have been told to not barrack so loudly and sit down after a good goal but now I just blend into the crowd. The days of "good goal number 7" have gone. Thank god.

Pert's Plan to Make the Dees an AFL Power
The footy crowd is quite different in the members. There is chanting going on (could be better though) and the support for the Dee's is as strong as in any other part of the ground. I know the members reserve is only one qtr of the ground but for Melbourne matches it's the most packed part of the ground. The finals matches took the support to a new level.

Every day not Sunday?
Well from a selfish point of view I didn't mind them so much and I could play golf on Saturday without rushing. That didn't help my score much. Your right though and without so many "graveyard" times (3:20) we may get more families coming along.

Gary Pert?

Training - Wednesday, 28th November 2018
Going to watch Tom Swallow with great interest. He has size already but with a couple of pre-seasons under the belt I feel he will be a monster. Quite impressed with our pick-up's this year. No pressure on them but in a couple of years will start to push for selection.

Random MFC encounters
Not too sure of the date (around 2010) I decided to play at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast. Had paid and was waiting to join a group when the pro came up and said let them go and I have put you with the next group. No problems as the Japanese group left and I joined up with the next group. Well I was really happy ( I was wearing a MFC logo shirt) as he joined me up with Jeff White. What a day. By god he could hit a ball.

1964 memories- calling our older supporters
Couldn't go over (still have family & friends there) as my surgeon has decided to do a full knee replacement today. Will have to watch on T.V. Barrack hard for all of us.

1964 memories- calling our older supporters
I'll try and keep it short. I've been very fortunate to have seen the premierships from 55' onwards and we started the cheer squad in 1959 sitting by the old race before moving to the Punt Road end. Many meetings with JIm Cardwell who helped us with money to start making the banners. We used to cut up paper (had a paper mill near us) and dragged hessian bags full along to the first train and the banners. Loaded a lot of the paper in the Greysmith stand and the kids used to throw it down when the team ran out. In 1964 at 3/4 time of the prelim we marched outside and started queueing for "T" section (now the Ponsford stand end) and we slept there all week as the there were 3 rows of seats and the rest was standing room. Collingwood got the goal and we were just around from them. Was a bit nervous in the last quarter when Gablelich has his run and then Hassa man missed an easy goal from the pocket. Brian Dixon played so well that day and kept pushing the ball forward where "froggy" Crompton got onto a loose ball AND BANG. The roar from the members (totally Red & Blue those days) was enormous. Spoke to the goal umpire years later (Steve Stephens) and he said the goal was never in doubt but it was his moment and he slightly delayed putting the fingers up to enjoy the moment. And he did barrack for Melbourne. Was the Lord Mayor at Moorabbin later on I believe. After the game the club put on a barbeque/food and drinks outside the club rooms which was so packed so we sat on the ground after midnight just soaking it all in. Finally packed up and went home on Sunday afternoon. Many more funny stories but that's it for now.

Hope you get that from your mates but the AFL are getting serious regarding scalping in today's paper. About time. If Tiges miss and the Pie's make it - charge double to your Pie mates. Haha
