  1. Best question to ask is that one - who is part of the next flag? Now comparing these two isn’t fair due to age but 5 years ago there was no way ANB would have been seen as key part of the flag. AND sometimes people surprise us. You’d prefer it to be on Tom’s terms and it’s probably time to move on to a fine fine servant who had seen all the peaks and troughs of a club originally in disarray and rebuilt himself and his skill set numerous times. We don’t win the flag without him 😎
  2. Wish I just had 8 mates…
  3. Remind me to come back to this forum, only when we start winning premierships please. 😮‍💨
  4. It proves how tight the industry really is - which you would hope transcends how its own supporters make sense of how the Dees have gone this year.
  5. ‘21 was fake news 😂
  6. I'm glad I'm not quite on your ignore list yet Cranky 😍
  7. oh and almost drowning!
  8. I sometimes like to imagine the posters that like to use language like 'spuds, inept, disgraceful', 'soft mentality' being invited into the FD to have their critiques and 'robust' comments heard, whilst using the same language that they use on here. If it was face to face, eyeballing the coaching staff, eyeballing the players, I'd suggest the language wouldn't be as inflammatory, and you'd probably converse with respect and genuine curiosity in trying to make sense of why things play out they way they do. But, if you were the type to continue to use that language because, a) you can't read the room, or b) you dress it up in the guise of "fearless conversations" on behalf of an aggrieved supporter base, I'd imagine you'd be told by the employees of the MFC to politely come back at a later time. While enthusiasm for our club is commendable, it's important to remember that first hand experience in the industry offers unique insights and perspectives, that until you have it - you're just making uninformed statements.
  9. looking forward to tagging this post when the draw is released 😍
  10. Certainly detect an uptick in aggressive posting from either new posters or posters that have been dormant for a few years. I guess they've actually missed the mediocrity...
  11. "desperation", "rolling the dice", "trusting players to do the job" same decision - different lens - so choose your language "argh the season's shot- play the young kids" whilst gnashing teeth that the seasons shot... And whilst on form, it doesn't look great - at least the FD is more optimistic than some of you lot...
  12. Such a weird article, well only if the conversations and contracts haven't already be concerned. Burgess, who only has eyes for Voss, (but not the Melbourne Football Club being a key component of their premiership in 2021)
  13. If he’s remembered for only one thing…
  14. Yes, I was inferring it is all about the $ - that’s their business. It’s a great junket. And is now at saturation point and I don’t see the younger generations having the same interest or attention span that maybe some of us on here do. 😀
  15. Personally, if I could, I would create a banner for him - I think you should create a banner for him or maybe get @WalkingCivilWar in on the action. Maybe something like "Dan Houston, your long kicking is a form of art Feel the vibes of a members wing And don't forget Hells Bells, is better than Never Tear Us Apart"
  16. Nah, it's merely about creating discussion points in a public forum. All versions of exposure and content.
  17. Often i think that if someone goes to a third club, then there is something around their competitiveness on the ground, or culture off the ground, that is the issue... then I remind myself of Martin Pyke.
  18. .🤷‍♀️
  19. Including OMAC AND SAM FROST 😂
  20. Nah, none of that is relevant to some folk, who are just so myopic about the W/L and what the optics look like on game day irrespective of personnel. It's this constant need to place blame somewhere as though the FD and athletes aren't chipping away at improving systems, themselves and ultimately outcomes. The expectations since the '21 finals have been so lofty, that anything less (which was inevitable) is seen as failure and thus any individual or in effect the whole club is culpable. 🤷‍♀️🫠
  21. So, is Contest and Defence dead? Is the MFC now behind the curve of where the game is at? It was once comfortably ahead by a year, or perhaps only 6 months. Fast, free flowing football, as evidenced by last year and this year, seem to be the paradigm of choice. So what will be the tactics and system that rebut it? And does Goodwin and co, have the innovative nous to attempt to combat this. I'm not great at articulating methodology of tactics and going into forensic detail of systems and game plans - but some my DL brethren may. Feel free to come up with some theories about where we may be headed from a tactical and system perspective.
  22. 'Ken oath Plenty will be frothing over it 💦
  23. Looking forward to a synthesis of all these viewpoints for the end of season review power point presentation.
  24. Great post @DistrACTION Jackson - I never think in terms of what is happening ahead of time and could be more beneficial than a trade in the near and now. I appreciate posters like you 😘
