Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL
bringbackthebiff replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hoping for the best, expecting the worse. The club needs to move on quickly, but right now i feel very flat! Sometimes it really feels like we are cursed. -
What’s really changed since our last loss?
bringbackthebiff replied to The team we love's topic in Melbourne Demons
4 things for me: - basically full list available - Confidence - intangible ingredient that we are now benefiting from - Forward entries - not bombing in, the structure including tmacs inclusion has assisted this - No cheap goals out the back eg goal keeper set up -

We just need to keep our composure under pressure. Its above the shoulders for us, we have the talent.

Wallace Urges Adelaide to Target Lever

It will be a good test for lever. The pressure will come and we will get to see how he responds. I’m backing him ? -

I keep hearing these “stronger teams”. Not sure they exist. Seems like a very even comp, proven by the last 2 premierships.
-
Don’t mind him. Gets it right most of the time. Unfortunately just got it horribly wrong during the Essendon saga!

Although it has a bit to do with the recent opposition, our entries into the forward line have improved. Lowering the eyes and not just bombing it in.

It’s always funny when crap teams play us we always fear they will come good, but objectively we know the saints are absolute [censored]. With that said I’m very nervous and I hope we scrape home in a very ugly thriller ?

The teams that worry me the most are skilful. Based on this I was interested how we would go against a traditionally skilful team. Once again it reminds me that this is out biggest weakness. It was so evident. They were pinpointing 40m passes in the wet, whilst we were missing short passes. I think we are potentially top 8 team, but hard to see us top 4/premiership material at this stage.

Personally found it tougher to watch Carlton than the Scottish marathon runner

What a shame you are trapped behind a keyboard. If only we had you out there playing...

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
bringbackthebiff replied to stevethemanjordan's topic in Melbourne Demons
Last year we were laughing at the tiges paying too much for Prestia... Also players won't be disappointed with the club bringing in players that make the list better. They are surely smart enough to realise that history only remembers the premiership teams! -
The Big Dance - Grand Final Day, 2017
bringbackthebiff replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Congratulations Richmond. Kept bringing out 4 quarter efforts when it really counted. I am extremely encouraged by what both the doggies and the tiges have shown the last 2 years. If you truly believe in the the coach, teammates and the club, anything is possible. Go demons! -
Although it stings, limping into 8th isn't the big picture. It's about winning our elusive 13th premiership. We have the nucleus of a good side however the last third of the season was a brutal reality check. Its not really a question of do we need either lever or kelly. Truth is we probably need at least 6 more quality players. It's likely we are 2-3 years away from going deep into September. Until then we need to keep developing these young kids (another 15-25% improvement) and make some strategic acquisitions. And hopefully learn that although there are some things you cant control in footy - you can always control your endeavor. Never can we repeat that tripe they served up in the 1st quarter yesterday!
